There I was thinking, "this is pretty good, but what is missing is a guitar in a case leaning up against an amp". So glad that guy fixed the problem. My hero.
Thank you so much for sharing. Chris' point at 46.00 is so important to any musician or music student, 'have fun practicing, find something you enjoy and keep doing it'
Funnily enough thinking about Joe Henderson earlier and how I heard think it was him how he went to each table in the club and played for each table guess emulating those violinists, cool.

Bob is right though you guys, all the greatest Jazz musicians came from the older years, I think all this high technology stuff is why there are so many Jazz musicians that don't really understand how to play the music. I think everyone's brains are fried from all this stuff, popular music is dead, that's from drum machines replacing musicians, everyone's listening to rap which is not even music, we really don't have anything that is super great and valuable like all the things that happened in Old America, before this high technology explosion wiped everything out
@@insertfulnamehere and I listen to the best music possible, so I'm not even slightly sad. I feel sorry for you for not having the knowledge, to have better taste SMH
@@tomscott1741 But you do know that music is subjective. And claiming to listen only to the "best music possible" is just your opinion of what the best music is. I challenge you to go listen to Kendrick Lamar's "To Pimp A Butterfly" you will find that the second track of that album is plain and simple a jazz track with rap on it. You can think that rap sounds terrible, and I agree that there are many rap artists that sound terrible, but to say that the entire genre is 'not music' and that it sounds terrible is just your uneducated and wrong opinion.

The last moments of this video is truly amazing; a portrait in how to practice the instrument!
The "you know" quote seems to repeat itself maaaany many times in those masterclasses and workshops within the jazz world. We finally know much! :D
Thank you for sharing.
That masterclass is full of nuggets.
And the final solo is awesome.
Chris Potter is an amazing guy!
Wow! I love chris potter so much, thank you for sharing!
Really cool to see him play piano.
I would love to hear you play Bob! You should put up a video and show us all how it's done
Cadenza from Copland Clarinet concerto at 7:36!
That was me that asked the question about overtones haha at 47:29
your voice sounds weirdly familiar. But I had the same question
No it wasn't! It was me! Look at this guy trying to take credit for what I asked!
Thanks for share it!!!!!

For music venue you'd think it wouldn't be an echo chamber....sucks since any advice from Mr Potter is golden

You are not listening to the right type of rap if you think that it's not music
What a sad old soul you are
@@Ilaysax rap is obviously not music. It sounds terrible

Terrible acoustics. Sadly I can't really hear him well enough.
What a horrible sounding room! God bless them.
