Why does everybody hate Jim!? Jim played his part in a bad-assed unique(In my opinion legendary) band, he was about as valuable to the band as Omar, Cedric, Paul, or Tony.

I was staring at Omar's afro throughout the entire video.

Try listening to ATDI without Jim's guitar (and vocals of course) and you'll hear Jim keep the band together. I guess I don't need to repeat that he's the founder of the band. Jim Ward is Punk in ATDI !!

Actually that's not why Cedric and Omar left At The Drive-In. They had left ATDI because they claimed it to be restricting, and they couldn't do all that they wanted to do. You should take some time to realize how awesome ATDI is, just think about it; that's the spark in which you could see the root of TMV through Omar's ability to warp the feel of Jim's rhythms to create something more. Without that begining, there'd be no mars volta :/

yeah TMV are more successful , but i love atdi much more. its loads more powerful. so u can say that jim hasnt been as successful or isnt as talented but he brought the punk and omar brought the experimental to the band without jim atdi would have been tmv. so it dont matter what you think of him hes partly responisble for one of the best albums of all time. Nothing comes close to Relationship of command! am i wrong ?

Well yeah, but in the end they all had different views on their future of the band. But yes you're right they were happy at the time. but now they chose their own courses. Jim and Tony went with Sparta and Cedric, Omar and Paul went with The Mars Volta.
