There's an actual episode where they discus Raj's shortcomings. He's hypersensitive. In the case of Lucy he pushed her way too much out of her comfort zone. (Insensitive to other people's boundaries).
Claire said he was incredibly needy - and particularly vain.
Emily complained about him in bed.
The other Emily didn't like how he was totally dominated by his parents. (Kind of a Mama's Boy.)
All of them said they went on to better boyfriends because it taught them what they didn't want in a BF - and then Emily commented that she was suprised that Raj and Howard didn't end up together.

@@diorjadore3687 I actually remember two other huge things. When he could only talk to women when he drank, he was an ass (Remember him telling the Indian girl, "You're Not Fat!" over and over?) Also, he was way too attached to his dog Cinnamon (The Emily or Cinnamon game) - especially when Emily kissed him and discovered dog hairs in his mouth.

@@aditi946 i would understand why you'd think that but Howard wasn't the best version of himself from the start, so if Raj got married, Howard would've probably ended up worse and we the viewers would've not like that.
Yeah, I hate the hate that Bernadette gets while people don't call Howard out for being a lazy, sleazy, selfish, entitled jerk who never does any housework and got Raj and Stuart to do everything to help Bernadette and prepare for the birth of their kid when he's the one who wanted kids.
Yeah, generally people are way too hard on Bernadette (and Penny) and just hate on her non-stop no matter what she does while Howard never has to face consequences for his sexism and selfishness/being a douche.
On the contrary, out of the three I liked Bernadette the most.

You can be attractive, well dressed, have wide range of interests, kind and thoughtful, well spoken (once he fixed the problem and the associated bigger problem) and financially well off and it still doesn't entail romantic success. Raj was by far the biggest catch of everyone on the show but he just never found a person who clicked right, and when he came close he self sabotaged not believing it could be real
he is also overbearing, needy, Whiny, constantly under his parents thumb and an aboslute womannizer after just one glass of wine. Yep a true Catch
@@mermidion7552 which is all part of his character development. Over the course of the series, he cured his selective mutism with alcohol, then learned to speak to women without it. He got financially cut off from his parents and had to start living on his own finances. And his wining was legitimate frustrations which he entrusted with his friends instead of going to therapy where he might have gotten actual help with those behaviors.
Even quality people DO have flaws, the trick is finding the ones who want to and do work on them- which really no one in the show does. They get better passively but never confront their own toxicity and intentionally change

He was a catch. He engaged in human flaws, and you act as if those flaws were all that is there by blowing them up. Ridiculous .

Is he a better catch than Howard yes . That story arc was wierd . But if not comparitively he is not that attractive

In all reality Howard and Bernadette definitely won't be married for more than 15 years. Unless he seriously changes the majority of his personality, which people don't really do. Not that its all his fault. But mostly tbh.
Then it can go one of two ways. Howard and Raj fully commit as either plutonic or romantic life partners. Or Raj swoops in. I back the former.

Donât know why, but Iâve always found the character of Raj to be extremely annoying. From his personality to the way he talks, just annoying đ and itâs amplified even more in this episode.
