It is sad. Josh seems like a nice guy, and he and Howard really seemed to get along at the end.
I thought they would add him to the group, at least for some important events or something .

It's a shame they didn't develop this character any further - he could've been an interesting addition to the cast.
These writers really missed a good thing. Several spin offs and they could have kept the masses entertained for ÿears.

Honestly? I think they could have done a better casting having Noah from Smosh play the role. He's just weird enough and funny enough to have had fans asking for more at the time.

This is the one storyline I’m bummed it never gotten a continuation. It’s one of the rare moments I was into his arc beside the mom.
Right? I'm sad they never followed up on this relationship because it would have been interesting to see Howard as a brother.
was a habit of the writers, start something like this, for a 1 off gag, joke, change a character for 1 episode for 1 quick laugh and then ignore it.

Kinda wish they'd brought this character back at least a couple times. Unless they do, and I just don't remember, it's so weird to introduce a half-brother and then never go anywhere with it lol
It probably would have led to Howard seeing his father again and then being a dramatic episode. The writers must have had plans for him that they ultimately had to kibosh for their own reasons, ranging from actor availability, to working out the other concurrent plots.

Sitcoms have a weird way of dealing with brothers, remember I'm happy days when Richie's brother went upstairs one day and it never came back downstairs again and I think that was somewhere in the middle of season 1

@@bradleyjpalko I believe he was part of the original show that aired is a part of Love American style and when they brought the show to air they included him until they realized that they had absolutely no use for him. I don't think you ever saw him much other than going in and out of the house
While I enjoyed this small story line I do get why they didn't take it further- Howard was adamant about not having any sort of relationship with his dad and knowing anything about him, and there's no way to include his brother more in the show without changing that. It's actually a very realistic way to handle his storyline because in real life you can't have it both ways- Howard can't build a relationship with his brother while vehemently hating his father so much that he doesn't even want to read a card from him. Just like all of us, he can't choose love and hate.
Nothing stops you from loving your brother and disliking his father, they're not the same people.
They should have made him have a relationship with both but there's way to keep things separate

I’ve often thought that this single moment actually confirmed, which story was the right story in Howard’s letter from his dad that was found in the bottom of the closet.
It doesn't confirm any of them because we still don't know why Howard's father abandoned him.

If Howard's father never divorced his mom, then Raj needn't have worried about Josh wanting money. Technically, Josh is illegitimate and would face an uphill battle for any cash.
I don't remember it ever being said whether or not Howard's parents divorced. We don't know if Howard & Josh's father is declared on Josh's birth certificate. Regardless of that, a DNA test would prove it.

0:20 it sucks Howard never confronted his father issues, I mean, he never really grew out of his father issues to clear he still holds lots of resentment and anchor, and that’s not healthy for anyone, especially a new father and husband. His problem is he never left that child mentality. He had an point of view when his father left him his mother cuddled him and guilt tripped him his whole life after that so he never really good. I’ve seen his mother as a mother, but also a person he still saw her as just a mother. I never let go of the resentment and sadness of what his father did, and got therapy. I really wish Howard was shown going to therapist at the end of the show, and finally grown into the man he should be realizing he has a great life and he doesn’t need his father.
I’d have loved if, in one of the last episodes, Raj showed up with a girlfriend he was crazy in love with, who looked a lot like a female Howard.

What was the point of introducing a half brother storyline for Howard and then dropping it? The series brought in several characters who promptly disappear and are never mentioned again it was the worst aspect of the show , For example an attractive new neighbour arrives as a rival for Penny and is never seen or even mentioned again,
