3 day road trip from Whistler to Dawson Creek, BC (the start of the Alaska Highway!)
VloĆŸit
- Äas pĆidĂĄn 27. 07. 2024
- For the next stretch of our drive up to Alaska we drove 1,000 km up British Columbia, from Whistler to Dawson City (which is the start of the Alaska Highway)!
This was all new territory for us and over three days we got to admire some amazing scenery both from the van and on hikes, visit local businesses (and enjoy tasty +), learn some history, see wildlife, and overall just had a blast as we continued towards our goal of making it to Alaska.

Sad that such nice places seem to attract litterbugs.
Such a great video! All of them have been so unique and fun. I loved the short film đ also, the mini train is so cute. Lastly, thanks for picking up the trash out there on these beautiful trails! I wish people wouldnât litter like that. â€ïžâ€ïž
We did have a ton of fun on this road trip! The mini train was also too much fun! Especially for us adults đ!
I didn't want to seem like I was "patting my own back" by showing me picking up trash, but c'mon there was just so much we just felt like sharing it. Thanks, Quinten!
6:29 "We promise we wont freak out about every bear we see" Please feel free to as I would be reacting in exactly the same way! Was dying with laughter during your old time black and white film when Adam said 'some person showed up late' and you can hear Kathryn stifle her laughter with a slight snort! đ€Ł I think that has just been the highlight of my day!!! But I loved the creativity in that tiny segment! đ The interiors of those trains were fascinating to see, especially the open sleeper part which reminds me of the 2nd class compartments in Thailand. I miss Tim Horton's Timbits and poutine so much. I remember going to Trafalgar Square once for Canada Day celebrations where the marketing said there'd be real poutine and it was grated cheddar. The disappointment was too real. It's all about the cheese curds and you just can't get them over here! :(
That'll definitely be a broken promise! đ
That film was so funny to film and put together! We loved walking through those trains! We can't wait to see some trains like that when we travel to SE Asia
Oof! That is such a let down when you're so hyped for a food and you get it and it's not what you expected at all. Even worse when you're super hungry!
Aside from your wonderful adventures, thank you so very much for putting out that campfire-especially in an area that has been hit hard with forest fires over the last few years. And for picking up the trash that was littering the trail. It makes me so cranky & frustrated when people donât appreciate the, supposedly, pristine beauty of the provincial Iâve called home from all my 58 years. Your efforts are very much appreciated - thank you from keeping BC green! Safe travels
It was pretty frustrating to see that. We just understand how people can choose to do that either. We like to leave places better than we found them
Wow guys...it just keeps getting better and better. The scenery in the beginning of the video blew me away. I know zilch about this area of the continent, so it's great to learn about it through your explorations. Nice video transition starting at 4:45 ;-) Adam, have you caught a fish yet? C'mon man! đ
Absolutely Beautiful drive and love the bearsđ The gravy fries are to die for.My daughter visited Canada and bought back the season packs and i loved it.Loved the waterfalls and scenery.
Poutine is so dang good! Lots more bears to come! Stay tuned!
Please please please keep being excited every time you see a bear! It is exciting!
Don't worry, we still freaked out anytime we got one on camera haha! And ALWAYS off camera too!
You make a great point about Tims not being the best coffee but it's reliable. I would agree 100%.
Ya it's solid, isn't it?!
Love your vlogs! I just had my baby 6 weeks ago and won't be able to travel for a bit. Watching these vlogs makes me feel like I'm traveling with you while also finding out about beautiful places I'd like to take my baby on adventures to once he's older đ thank you for these amazing videos!
Congratulations!
We're glad we can help out in those first few months when you're still trying to figure it all out! Hopefully it's going well so far!
We're happy and thankful we can share. Thanks for watching!
Great video especially the bear count! I love your enthusiasm!
Lots of bears to come!
B.C. is such a beautiful provence. You captured it on video so well.
Yes it is! Thank you!
Some crazy beautiful scenery, love the mountains, lakes, and waterfalls along the way. It has to be great seeing the bears and wildlife, what a bonus.
It has all been super wonderful! The scenery and wildlife blows us away!
Timmyâs and Poutine you guys are real Canadians now, eh?! đTrue there is no entrance fee for provincial parks but you have to pay to camp at them. Canada does have some national parks that have a daily fee. They donât call it beautiful British Columbia for nothing đ»đđČ thanks for taking us along. Weâre ready for the journey to Alaska đŸ
Yah, eh! haha We loved that about the parks! We don't mind paying and supporting the parks, but you can't beat free!
You two are too much fun. Love how you share your adventure in a very fun way and manage to be informative without boring the pants off of your audience. Thank you. You're awesome.
That means a lot to us! We try to be informative, but entertaining at the same time and that makes us feel good to hear we accomplish that! Thank you!
What amazing scenery! Iâve never seen so many snow-capped, beautiful mountains. And the number of bears, what?! I am so envious! đđ
We saw lots and lots of bears and the snowy mountains never end!
Livin The Dream! Beautiful everywhere! Be safe.
This is true! Thank you!
British Columbia is so beautiful! You do such a great job filming. Like the cute old tiny train boarding black and white short.
BC is so beautiful, yes it is! Thank you so much! We had a lot of fun with that one! đ
Iâm so enjoying our trip; thanks for taking me along! This is a trip we definitely want to do! Weâve been as far as East British Columbia in Yoho National Park. Weâve donât Banff and Jasper in Alberta đand the unreal colors of the glacial lakes as well as the power of water blew us away!
We're happy and thankful we can share! We are excited to visit Banff and Jasper later this year on our way back to the lower 48!
Just watched the new video and all I can say is Breathtaking! You do such am awesome job both of you. My husband and I go to Ouray,Silverton and Telluride every summer and after watching your Moab video have decided to add that this year. So excited to go, I am 76 and he is 78 and never tire of the adventures on the road! Safe travels to Alaska and we will be eagerly awaiting all of your postsđđșđžđ±ââïž Fish on Adamđđ

They were so detailed! We were blown away! Canadians are the nicest!
Absolutely beautiful scenery; food , coffee and donuts looked greatđđđđđđđđ
Tim Horton's never disappoints! And neither do the views!
Another awesome video. Especially loved the black and white short feature. Safe travels.
That was a lot of fun to film and put together! Thanks, Darrell!
British Columbia is without a doubt the most beautiful place I've ever seen. Pretty flattered that you would even compare it to Minnesota!
It's pretty darn incredible! We loved Minnesota and thought it was gorgeous as well!
Absolutely amazing scenery!!!
đđ
So much fun. Loved the train sequence you did in black and white
That was a lot of fun to film and put together! đ

Love from Ontario, Canada! Watched your video on our TV and came here to leave a comment of thanks :-) Never knew how northern BC looked like. You have captured the scenery and events well for the rest to follow in your footsteps. Thanks for sharing for all the rest of us.
Thank you so much for going out of your way to comment! Thatâs our hope that people can take our videos and have all the info they need to replicate it! Thanks!
Beautiful scenery. Feel like I'm probably going to be saying that frequently on these Alaska trip videos. Enjoyed it alot! Keep having fun.
We keep saying it too!
Wonderful video as always- itâs clear a ton of work goes into each one. I especially love the bear sightings and hope you keep including them! :)
Thank you so much!
We'll always include the bears when we're lucky enough to catch them on camera!
Thank you not only for your adventures, but your leave no trace ( picking up waste) and for taking the time and water to put out the smoldering fire! Weâve ran across the same up in Quetico Provençal Park, Manistee River and Namekagon River, all week plus padding trips. My Hubby is a retired Battalion Chief of a paid fire department(retired after 32 yrs of service)and itâs super frustrating to see fires still active. BIG hugs for taking the time and putting it out!!! Safe travels⊠we love your channel!
It's such a bummer that people choose to mistreat these wonderful places! Thank your husband for us for his service to the fire department! Thanks and thanks for watching!
Great Vlog !! Really enjoying it and looking forward to all of them ! Be Safe !!

Hello Adventurers, this is AWESOME!! What sticks out are all of those BEARS...like 7 of them. AWESOME driving too. Tim Hortons is a great place for breakfast. I am stooked for the next part of this journey along the Alaska Highway. OUTSTANDING VIDEOđđđđđđđđ!

Loved the Conway Twitty! Great video.
Thanks for watching!
What an adventure this is, so wonderful
We're loving it!
Ok I had to pause the video at the train part...lol...you missed a critical opportunity to say "No MONEY, NO TICKET!" from Frosty the snowman. Haha...I do that every time to my kids when we see old train stations like that....ok back to regular scheduled viewing...and I'm back. Loved the shout out to the North Shore of Minny...that definitely did look like it your so right. The joy in this video is so contagious! I've said it before but watching how happy this trip makes you all is so awesome to watch. I love road trips so much and this one just seems so epic....and with Poutine to boot!
That is a missed opportunity! Although I don't think either of us have seen Frosty for at least ten years haha But we'll have to do it on the next train!
We're having a blast and having fun sharing it and seeing the reactions and comments! Thank you!
Another great vlog guys!! So many bears wow

It was a ton of fun to film and put together! đ
I have to agree the people of B.C. are so wonderful and Nice. When we visited Vancouver and Victoria, we did not find one local who was rude or mean. Everyone is so nice and happy! I need to go visit again! Lol Glad you guys had a good trip through there. It is so gorgeous!
Yes they were so friendly and welcoming! We had a fantastic trip through Canada!
This was a fantastic video! What beautiful sceneryâŠOMGOSH! Those fries looked awesome! Those water falls were so powerful! We laughed when we saw your faces in the signs and riding the trainâŠso fun! Oh and the short movie with no ending was really creative and cute! Thanks for another great video! Keep traveling safe! Loved seeing my Konie too! đâ€ïžâ€ïžâ€ïžđ¶đ„°
Woohoo! The poutine was droolworthy! We're suckers for face in holes! Lots of them to come!
I just got back last month from the 10 day trip you recommended in Southern Colorado. I took my daughter and 8 yr old granddaughter. Probably our favorite thing to do was ride the train from Durango toward Silverton stopping for a picnic lunch next to the Animas River. Such beautiful scenery! We also enjoyed Ouray and the Hot Springs pool there. Thanks again for the great recommendations along the route. I look forward to each video and the excellent work you both do editing and putting together such quality work. You are the best!! Enjoy the journey! God Bless!
That makes us happy to hear you had such a great time! Durango is a ton of fun and the train ride is a bucket list item! Ouray is crazy beautiful as well!
Thank you so much and thanks for watching!
Loved the short film! đ You guys are awesome, looks like such a fun stretch of the trip! đđŒ
It was amazingly beautiful!
The Chasm is so cool! It's a river of trees instead of water. I'm in love with all those moutain views.
Ya pretty much! It was an interesting feature!
Nice job helping to put out that fire and collecting the trash too. We did something similar back in the Santa Fe National Forest. It can be mind boggling sometimes what other people do or don't do. Loved the never ending movie and we think you should have a bear counter down in the corner. We are looking forward to all the wildlife you may see. Thanks for sharing all the beauty and fun.
Itâs unfortunate how some people choose to treat nature!
We werenât able to catch every bear on camera, but we plan to share our wildlife count when we reach Alaska in our videos!
Thanks, Bob!
Hi guys. Fellow Texan here. I found your channel watching some CO videos about a week ago. I canât wait to check out the videos of the first part of this trip, and of course the end of it.
Hey, Michael! That's awesome to hear! Thanks for following along!
Iâm from 108 Mile! I love it there đ„°
Oh my word....this vlog had me so excited about so many things!!! The mountain views are totally awesome!!! I'm so jealous that you're seeing so many bears! I LOVE bears!!!đ» đThe heritage site was cool as well as the train museum! Also the short little video you did was awesome haha! You had me laughing with that one! đđđ You guys are obviously having a blast and I'm here for it! I noticed that Kona totally adores you both. đ I'm so freaking pumped for the next vlog that I'm shaking! Lets GO!!!!!
We had a ton of fun with this one, Brad! We saw so many bears and lots more to come over the next few videos so stay tuned!
We are Kona's whole world....well, us and her ball!
Let's GOOOO!
Wonderful video. The scenery is spectacular! Those fries with the cheese and gravy were making my mouth water, and Adam just kept dragging on about them, I was thinking, put it in your mouth already đ so cool to see the bears đ». Can't wait for your next adventure. Keep safe đđ»đđșđž
They were super delicious! Haha I just wanted to describe em for the folks at home! đ
Thanks, Guadalupe!
I envy youđđ The scenery is very nice and it's a great trip!! I want to go there once in a lifetime!
We hope you can make it! We are thankful and lucky we can share!
We are really enjoying your videos and look forward to the next. We just did a Northern New Mexico and San Juan Mountain/Colorado trip. We watched your videos before we went! We are flatlanders from Savannah and enjoy the mountains. Want to go to Alaska in the next year. Thanks for all the great videos and your upbeat personalities
The San Juans have our hearts! WE love that place so much and New Mexico is so underrated in our eyes!
We're glad we could help! That makes us really happy to hear and we're glad you had a great trip. Thanks for watching!
This video was great and so well edited. I loved all of it! Nothing else to say or eat here. đđđđđđđđđđ
Thank you! âșïž
Excellent.
You guys nailed it againđđđđšđŠâ€ïžđșđž
đđ
Great vlog on this entry. Loved it all. I'm only a couple of days away from my photography adventures through Yoho/Jasper/Banff. Stay safe!
Oh wow that's going to be amazing! We hope you have a great time!
You did a good job of keeping the palm trees and sun shiny out of the video. Do not know how you did it. Love those fry's.
Thanks for picking up the garbage đđđ
I hate that I had to do it! C'mon people!
