Really good work, everything looks perfect. Just amazing, keep up the good work and looking forward to seeing it all finished. I have a question about the radiator fan shroud, could you advise what the part number is please
Sitting in Arctic Norway, and have a -94 G350 that broke a piston rod and smashed the block...😑 Now I'm going to put in a OM606, and man...!! What an inspiration to watch this!! 🤩🤩 I'm curious! How did it work out with the engine cooling with the intercooler and oil cooler, and all that? I saw in previous video that you still have the plastic shroud behind the custom radiator, how did you get it to fit when the new radiator is thicker? The link to the radiator doesn't work, I'm really curious on the radiator and how it worked! And the air filter box, and the filter, where to get that? ....i have so many questions...😂😂
Dear Gunnar, thank you for this comment. You have very nice G Wagon, I like G350 with OM603 turbo. Please take a look in details at these videos first: czcams.com/video/xz78KT_gaU8/video.html czcams.com/video/Y6GDcmdddYQ/video.html Here: czcams.com/video/P4Z4yr0k2Js/video.html Somewhere closer to end there are some photos of frontend without fenders, showing coolers job. Engine cooler is not that much thicker, just slightly, all that plastic shrouds fits no problem. All the temperatures are good, no overheating and this pretty big success with this prechamber combustion engine. If everytnig goes according to my plan I should be in Arctic Norway in july reaching Norkdapp ;) Cheers and good luck with swapping with om606, its a great adeventure.
I was also very pleased with the 3,5 liter in the G350, but it has one weakness that i got the bad experience of: weak piston rods...😑 You have definitely done something right with your setup if you have no heating problems with such a powerful OM606 build! I'll definitely copy some of your modifications! The tuned up OM606 builds use to get some heat problems if they have original cooling system. I guess the intercooler have to get some of the credit for that because it's HUGE compared to the original one on the G300! I asked if you've had any heat problems because I thought that the intercooler and oil cooler would "steal" to much of the cooling capacity in the front of the car. I'd also want to get the intake air from the right side fender like you have done, just without the snorkle at first, can't afford it all at once..😂 Your solution gives a really short way from turbo, and no pipes and such over the engine like i have now! But the air filter and casing! Can you provide part number or link to where you've gotten them? Also for the top of the snorkle so i can put it on the to-do-list for later? The air filter is massive, and it will give a lot of air clearance for the turbo!🤩🤩🤩 Oh, you're going to Nordkapp!? If you take the route through Lofoten on your way north, which i really recommend, you'll drive practically right through my back yard!😂😂 Would you be ok with me sending you an email to stay in touch so i can pick your brain some times when I'm in the process with my own OM606 build? Also it would be cool if you stopped for a visit if you come by these parts on your way to Nordkapp! Again: great build you have done! It greatly inspirational to watch your videos, and it gives many good ideas for my own build! Thanks alot!
Hi I am in Corsica 👏, you are a source of inspiration, Your work is marvellous !!!! I too am in the process of replacing my OM603 in my G-class with an OM606 Can you give some information ? do you replace the oil pump completely? Best regards
Thanks!!! :) Yes I have replaced factory oil pump and oil sump from my OM603931 But as far as I remember I also needed drive chain from 603: A 003 997 78 94 (30 eur before VAT)
Hello I need help 🙏 I have an om603 oil pan with a w210 om606 (The oil pan part number is 603 014 22 02 replaced by 603 010 18 72), and I'm not sure what the part number for the proper oil dipstick.my car is 1992 G Wagon with om606 swap! what part number is yours? how long is it? please help
Its been long story with this intake manifold. First I painted it with black VHT spray. Later I made so many engine fittings to frame that I destroyed this paint, It got some oil on it as well, so I flushed it and temporary painted it with Luxens black mat paint for steel. This is anticorosion paint that I use for steel, but I just used it for now. When time comes and I sort out all the problems I maybe take all the parts and powder coat it at one shot.
Thx, intercooler part number: FMIC IC45023065 Core: 450x230x65mm Total: 600x230x65mm Inlet/outlet: 63mm (same as HX35 outlet) I choose this size to fit oil cooler below intercooler
I was concidering this one, but new is around 1300 euro before VAT. And I think I would not fit it between my radiator and engine bulkheads. It is also pretty tall, I would not be able to mount oil cooler below it as well.
Incredible engineering and build quality. bravo my friend
Incredible work really detailed as you entertained us with the video 😂😂😂
This vidio is going to help me so much with my G Wagon Build

Fantastic! Where do you work ?
what type of paint did you use on the intake manifold? i love the color scheme

Hi, thank you please share the information of the company that made you the radiator 🙏
I already did it. Please take a look at description of this video:

@@MercedesOffRoadClub thank you so much 🙏 you are the best om606 content creator 😁
Thank you ;)
Hi, amazing build, what size intercooler did you use, is it 600x300x76 ?
Thx, intercooler part number: FMIC IC45023065

Total: 600x230x65mm

I choose this size to fit oil cooler below intercooler
@@MercedesOffRoadClub A good alternative would be the intercooler a4635002200 installed in the later 350

There is also another number A 463 500 21 00 which is little bit cheaper
Thank you for the reply, I have ordered the size you recommended
