He got disarmed by the Viking Charisma haha The bit where you said "I wanted to address this as a funny segue.... Let me just read you some of the comments you wrote about me..." , then Phil in a low tone says "I was harsh..." ie as good as an apology for the stuff he wrote about you. That was brilliant! It was almost like a Ben Stiller moment. And its proof that hatefulness doesn't work, always approach things with positivity, which you seem to do in your communication. Hello, Viking Samurai. From a financial standpoint, Enter the Dragon is the most successful Martial Arts film ever made. By today's standards, when adjusted for inflation, it's a billion dollar film, because it made $400 million in 1973. Bloodsport while extremely popular, made $50 million. Also, Enter the Dragon is responsible for the big Martial Arts boom in America, that led to Van Damme, Steven Seagal, Chuck Norris, Don The Dragon Wilson, Jackie Chan, Billy Banks, Jim Kelly, Yuen Bio, Donnie Yen, Scott Adkins, Michael Jai White, Tony Jaa, Joe Taslim, Iko Uwais, Cynthia Rothrock, etc. Not to mention, every fighting game has a Bruce Lee character. On a side note, this is a very good video and interview.

I will have to rerun it but curious about the martial arts mentioned. Silat is apparently very difficult to learn, but curious how much Silat is in that hybrid system. A very engaging guest nonetheless and even though a few months old now, this vid and more recent ones really are painting Dux as someone who was born on fantasy Island. You're an awesome dude VS. I don't get why people automatically shutoff and stop actually listening. It's pretty obvious you let these people speak about their perspective on your platform, then let the audience decide what to think. Of course it doesn't necessarily mean you agree/disagree, but you do a great job of keeping the discussion going in a neutral way. If you want milk from a cow, you need to do it the right way. The last thing you wanna do is scare it or stress it out, and now you just screwed yourself.

In regards to Phil Elmore. It's been said better than I could... there are so many “martial artists” who are obsessed with “self-defense” or “self-preservation” yet are grossly overweight and clearly unhealthy. These people spend countless hours obsessing over “self-defense scenarios” and love to note, “so I can make it home to my family while my opponent doesn’t.”
In reality, obesity and heart disease is going to be the “attacker” that takes these people out. While they eat ice cream and work on ridiculous scenario training, their blood pressure increases, and they are days closer to a stroke. Phil is clearly prescribed Valsartan.
These people, as with someone facing another person with a knife, would be better served if they simply learned how to jog or engaged in some light exercises to get their weight down. That’s real self-defense. You can’t do any cool Kali knife traps from the grave.
I simply cannot take any “Self Defense” dude seriously if he is grossly overweight and unathletic.

I'm a old man now , I don't train at a gym nor I have a instructor , I don't train for fun , just for protection and self defence . So I don't consider myself a martial artist in any way or form,

I've noticed you have one of Ellington Darden's books in the background . Have you tried HIT ? Did you make good gains ? Did it work well with your martial arts training , was it benefit or hurt your other training ?

That Darden book on the shelf is the most unique routine I ever did and I gained quite a bit of size. I'll do a video covering it in the future. I do not believe it's HIT, I'll have to look that up. That routine in the book consists of super slow reps, like 30 seconds, for a single rep, not set! Lol

The thing to keep in mind with Dux is that his attitude is always that the burden of truth is placed on his critics, not himself. He is the one making all of the claims, but somehow none of the responsibility of proof-providing seems to apply to him. For me, that's a bad look that negates any credibility.

  • @dzdebil1878
    @dzdebil1878 Před 2 lety +2

Many have called Phil out on his BS, from him leaving wing chun because they started to spar and that was too dangerous for Phil. But why does he think his only critics come from bullshido/neal fletcher? The ironic thing, is that Phil was a part of McDojo/Bullshido. He posted there and people called him out on his BS, which is why he left.
Phil says he wasn't an instructor/martial artist then, but why was he making books on self defense?
Phil claims he has a background from some pretty unknown origin "a guy from a guy taught me", besides looking like he is incapable, he avoids hard sparring so he probably can't fight. His own martial art is not even a credible or working martial art. He can't fight and can't teach people to fight. So he should be the last person to take advice on for what is real or what is fake martial arts.
People don't move on from Phil the same way Phil doesn't move on from Frank Dux. You're a fraud who the World constantly reminds is a fraud.

"Phil says he wasn't an instructor/martial artist then, but why was he making books on self defense?" Good question. It is a marketing tool. If you want to become and 'expert' and get on shows and make dollars while you sleep, write a short book about what you want to be an 'expert' in, put it out there, solicit interviews and put out adds, then make money while you sleep. It is an old technique.
Phil has an answer for every question, even the one's you don't ask. It is a technique to manage the discussion away from uncomfortable areas you don't want to talk about. He is very skilled.

    Fraud🤷‍♂️
Martial Arts is what You want of it.
If You think it's all about getting in the ring, or cage ....then get in the ring, or the cage. If it's about just fitness....fine, or self defense....fine.
I don't like the word fraud. That's just Me.
I fought in the ring....because that's what I wanted 2 do.....I don't hold it against others that don't, or call them a fraud.
Matter of fact I know a Doctor that use 2 open spar with Me that was awesome, but He never wanted 2 fight....is He a fraud???
I'm not really explaining Myself how I want. Anyway I hate the word fraud.
I know more musicians that are frauds on CZcams than I actually know Martial Artists that are frauds.
