@@leonardmiller156 I lived in the 70s and often have trouble remembering last week, it's years ago that seem like yesterday, especially those LP's you got for Christmas, like Gary Glitter, Showaddywaddy's Greatest Hits or for birthday, The Beatles At The Hollywood Bowl. Music seems to leave an imprint in the memory banks, like the first date, the first motorbike, the first car, and for me, my first guitar. It's Christmas in 10 days and of course, TOTP wasn't to be missed, far more important than the annual boring schpiel from Buck House! If Sweet were on, it was guaranteed that they'd make it memorable....Steve Priest was a great bassist, and a genius at sending himself up. In general, music is supposed to be fun and the likes of Sweet nearly always were. Steve wearing a pickelhaube helmet and Hitler style moustache sums up his humour, and I suppose it gets frowned upon by the PC brigade, but what would they make of Steptoe & Son, and frankly, who gives a damn?
It still sounds great today. Seriously, just like punk jolted the established rock scene in the late 1970s, we need something to detonate the current mediocre, boring and repetitive rap scene which has been going a decade too long. Maybe a glam rock juggernaut is all that's required.

THEN I ACTUALLY UNDERSTOOD THE SONG!... Also I better tell you ... I do LOVE CoCo as well ..... v.much .... I have a 7inch vinyl JukeBox in my house with Sweet music on it (and others! 🎵) also Hellraiser and all their tunes really ...... 🎵 and steve's fotto too❤️🎵❤️ ALSO like loads of music like .... Zappa / Hard Core Techno / Reggae / early Stones / Kinks (met Ray Davies) / R&B / loads of my friends are DJs so I get to hear the latest best dance tunes / I LIKE MY MUSIC 🎵 TO BE DISTURBING ENOUGH to shock me as well as make me FEEL HAPPY ... right now I keep singing the one song i never mentioned Fox on the Run !!!! BUT A I SUPPOSE ⟹ ⟹ ⟹ "....... you better beware - you better take care - you better look out if you got long black hair" is my FAVE!...... AND THE glam rock anthem
Probably on a par with Bowie doing starman. Also that recent “found” clip of him doing the jean genie, which is fabulous.
Was this a great band or what?! Just love them ! I’m almost 60 years old and of course I still listen to them! Amazing! ❤️❤️❤️❤️
I appreciate this more than I did back then. What a great band.
I STILL wanna be in The Sweet. Love this band.
When I first heard this song I was totally blown away, this song is decades ahead of its time, Brilliant👍👍👍
I was one of the lucky ones still around this was my teen years from 15 upwards if you can remember the 70's you didn't live in the 70's
Your comment is ahead of its time.
Good as it is this typical 70s glam rock
"WE JUST HAVEN'T GOT A CLUE ....... WHAT TO DO !" I love Steve Priest 💔
Hello! Where are you from? I´m from Finland. I love The Sweet, the whole band, but especially Steve. What is/are your favorite songs???? What kind of music do you like?? Happy spring to you from Finland :) !!!
hi - so great to get your message - yeah! steve priest was (is !) so theatrical and fab and that was hard with brian obviously being the dominant male! in the band - so steve was 1000% FAB !!!! to be 'the boy' we LOVE.
I am in Liverpool / England .... I got to see the band AND they let me video them at the side of the stage !!!! But steve had left by then ...... they were great i must admit ---- but not as fabulous!
My fave track is prob. Blockbuster + Ballroom Blitz ..... and WigWamBam which !!! I never understood for years !!!! coz I thought Hiawatha was a girl !!!
And THEN I REALIZED ❤️ ❤️ ❤️ all about Minnie HaHa's tender touch + things! by the 'silver stream' ..... Am I right ????
BUT A I SUPPOSE ⟹ ⟹ ⟹
"....... you better beware - you better take care - you better look out if you got long black hair" is my FAVE!...... I have NOT checked the lyrics .... if I have them correct - i hope nearly anyhowz 🎵 .... ✅ LOVE❤️ to YOU - Päivi - from me --- davedoom in liverpool ---- 🎵+🦄+🎼+🎈+🌼+🎤++++💚SWEET💚 🆒 🎶 ✔️ :)
Call me stupid but is that his voice or a piped in voice?
@@chrism.2711 It's his voice. Odds are they're lip syncing but the voice is Steve's. Somewhat overly dramatic vocals were a bit of a thing for him for a bit. Ballroom Blitz is another. It's him.
@@tgreening Thank you!!!
Bis heute gibt es nichts vergleichbares das es mit dieser irren Zeit aufnehmen könnte! Ein Number one Song nach dem anderen über Jahre!!!!!
Why am I only just now discovering the absolute awesomeness of this fg song ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
