Rob Ferrell Vintage Byrdlands are relatively cheap. I was in a shop on the east coast of Florida a couple of months ago and they had a ‘68 natural Byrdland with the Florentine cutaway for something like $7500. Not exactly cheap, but when considering other guitars of similar vintage and the fact that a new Byrdland will run you close to $10k, it’s a good buy.
if you own virtually any Gibson ES guitar, you'd have a hard time keeping your hands off it too. his control of feedback with a fully hollow Byrdland is what amazes me.
69SHOVLHED I talked to his tech a few years ago at a show in Memphis. He said that no matter the room, Ted could go up on stage and 15 minutes into the soundcheck, have all the feedback particulars figured out from any spot on the stage.
2:02, ah, back when you could tell a gay joke and no one got upset, back then, jokes were jokes and what you laughed at didn't completely define your character.
Ted Nugent is such A great guy and gutarist, He rocked the 70s and 80s with his thunderstorm of gutiar skills right at people's face and they loved it, Love all his albums, 😎👍
FRIGGIN TED NUGENT IS THE REAL DEAL!!! dude has been getting it done for 50 years!!! He's got his shit together and has always been a straight shooter!!! Lol literally!!! LOVE YOU UNCLE TED!!!
New here. It makes Ted even more likable seeing this interview. He talks so much common sense more people should learn from him and his ways. Also cat scratch fever is still my favourite opening riff ever :)
Saw Ted live last summer(2019). He's not hurtling amps anymore, but he was playing like a man possessed. Playing as well, maybe better than, he ever has.
Rock and Roll Monkey~Its really the best thing, when hearing an artist you've always liked, and although they're gettin a little older, they havent felt the need to reinvent themselves. They havent mellowed so much, theyre almost unrecognizable, and the fire and talent are still just as alive and well; maybe even better. You can just tell their music is who they are, and it personifies them, having an energy that is hard to find the words for. I met Ted in 1991. He was a trip. We had backstage/VIP passes. People were mingling. We were looking around and I finally saw Ted. I must have had a dumb look on my face, staring or something, but he saw me. He saw me from about 30-40 feet away. And with a burst of unexpected spontaneity, he started running tward me, and I just froze like a deer in the headlights, as he did a double bent knee skid (kind of like sliding into home plate without the 1 extended leg) on the smooth floor, there was no where for me to move to, as he slid to a stop right at my feet. He then whips out a sharpie pen, grabs my leg and signed his autograph on the left leg of my faded blue jeans. He must be made of rubber, because he somehow got his feet underneath him, rolled himself back onto his feet without using his hands, and with a strange fluidity I could never duplicate or describe. And I couldnt help but laugh outright. He then goes to hand me the pen, kissed the top of my hand and told my friend, "Its gals like this you'll have dreams about when your an old man", he winked and then went bounding away, half singing and half calling out someone's familiar sounding name. I must have been 10 shades of rosie pink to sunburned red and could not stop giggling, even alittle bit shaken. We had a few drinks, hung out next to a few of the Damn Yankees, then sfter feeling abit like we weren't sure how to strike up a conversation surrounded by people we didnt know, decided to leave. As we headed tward the exit, the doorman stopped us. He said, "Here. Ted wanted me to tell you guys if you ever want to go hunting or want to learn how give him a call" then he handed me a business card and at the bottom where his name would be it said "Whackmaster Ted". Of course I didnt have the funds or the means for that kind of excursion, but I still have the card. Ted is definitely a very expressive individual and still fully stoked on life from what I can see. Still a spazz with no shortage of the risque' humor. But before I quit rambling, here's a funny thought. I think it'd surprise no one if Ted lived to be 100. He may not be able to bounce around the room, but I bet his wit would still be in tact. I think it'd be quite comical if he was the the longest living rock musician of his era. I know of no one else like him. Im sure a few may exist, but none come to mind. Who knows, maybe now that I'm leaving Cammie-fornia after being born and raised in the bay area, I'm heading north to escape all the leftist quacks. There's just too damn many of them, politicians and citizens alike, brainwashed in idiocy and a worthless justice system. Once I'm finally out of here and no longer being financially raped living in one of top most expensive, rip off places to live in the entire country, I might actually be able to save some money for the first time since...well, too mamy years ago, and maybe make that hunting trip after all, and share this story with him. I have to admit. That would definitely be ANOTHER adventure I wouldnt forget. Its the kind of thing "I'd. have dreams about when I'm an old lady".
We can all still get along, just ignore the internet debates. I’m from California and I’d welcome anyone from across the country to have a beer and talk politics. Sometimes the internet makes you for forget you are talking to a human, and most people are good in my experience.
Probably not..... only because there isn't a greatest. But it's highly doubtful you'll find better. He plays live. Has played over 5000 shows. Played in 6 decades. Sold 50,000,000 records. Sex symbol. Didn't die. Writes. Produces. Sings. There's only a few in this group.... Ronnie and Keith for sure. Paul McCartney and Ringo. Pete and Roger. Eric... David Glimore and Roger Waters... Cosby, Stills and Nash.... Santana.... Pretty short list... Ready Sweaty Teddy is on the list.
You forgot "Brother Ted:! Used affectoinately when listening to "Bro Ted" while stoned and gathered somewhere in the country, music cranked, speakers out of the vehicle, when so equipped, and getting more buzzed!! Ah, memories!!
I seen him in the mid 90''s at Pine Knob. It was the loudest concert I had ever been to. I thought I had hearing damage, even three days later. Went to the doctor, I was so concerned. It's just Nugent. I will never see him again, I learned my lesson.
While I share a lot of the same views as Ted, just about everybody in Hollywood I form a negative opinion on once their political view comes out. Its everybody's right to have their own, but it sucks when they abuse events and other things to constantly take preaching opportunity. It isn't what made them famous. That said I get where the OP is coming from.
He recorded an albumn at pasha studios where I worked. Got to play pac-man with him and deliver his checks to the Beverly Hills bank in my grey primered nova with a Budweiser bedspread for a seat cover back in 82. Just like Beverly Hills cops. Now I'm 58 where did the time go?
My birthday is 3 days after uncle Ted, many years later, but he's a Sagittarius through and through. Get him in the rock hall of fame already. What a joke that having strong opinions can keep a good dude down like it did.

Ted Nugent is one crazy dude I love Ted Nugent he is like totally awesome I used to watch this show when it came on him hunting I used to get high on weed listening to Ted Nugent LOL we'd all get stoned and listen to the whole album of cat scratch fever just saying I was like maybe 15 16 years old and me and my friends I've watched him plenty of times on The Midnight Special starring Wolfman Jack pretty cool later nothing but peace and love I'm out

That was the exact thought I had when I saw this.
Well Ted sure says a lot of that
Also back before Ted went batshit, tinfoil nuts.
Before Ted became a part of that group.
him in Damn Yankees was epic! they fit so well together best band. underrated.
And the record company didn't want them out there. They couldn't control everything and they hate that.
I saw him in '77. He swung in on a vine rockin' the loin cloth. Rocked the shit out of Madison Square Garden, we had so much fun.
Was at the Lakeland Civic Center in Florida at the same tour. Was hysterical!!!
went to the Toronto show (loin cloth) front row lost hearing for like 3 days and got crowd crushed. best rock show ever.
when Ted screamed; "come on up.." total mayhem squish
Same here. 1979 Day on the Green in the Oakland Coliseum.
Yup, I was there too. Lynryd Skynyrd was supposed to be there but that was the year of their fateful accident. Great show!
@@pgo301 I was there too! My ears rang for a few days.
Ted says he doesn't do alcohol, drugs or tobacco contrary to his image He makes an excellent talk show guest. I like his nice guy humble persona
He looks so young because he's never smoked or did drugs
What persona ?
i'[ve met and spent a little time backstage with ted. nothing about him is an act. he's as genuine as anyone can be. treated me like a long lost friend
There are so many fake musos out there. This man is a true rock legend. I wish I had discovered his music earlier.
He's really under rated.
I got lucky, because I was around since his beginning, and got to see him in a very small venue (3-400 PE0PLE BIG) across town in the early 70s.

Yeah Dosent he own literally like 80 percent of all thunderbird guitars
Definitely, he has a 59’ Les Paul
