Absolutely love it! I grew up with watching Thunderbirds and I was born in 2000. I watched every episode ever and I know most by heart and can reside it as I rewatch it...this one's for this video...WE RUNNING OUT OF RUNWAY! WERE NOT GONNA MAKE IT!!! FIREFLASH LIFT PORT WING LIFT PORT WING!!!
Oh come on mate , what about the pepsi livery , it's stunning . Apparently they only painted one for publicity , as it caused problems to the aircraft . I seem to recall , the colour caused the aircrafts surface to become too hot . So it only ever flew subsonic , but it was a hell of a paint job .
There's 4 elevator cars because as in the show when the first rescue was attempted one of the elevator cars had a malfunction and crashed so they used the fourth which was a spare this is why there's 4 in the kit for a guess.
Love the boxes on these. Because it's bachman most of the online railway model shops are carrying them. Just finishing the fab 1 and to be honest it's a bit of a shocker.
if you wanted to fly fireflash there was an add on for microsoft flight sim x (in fact most Anderson craft except tb4 and tb5), Ihave most and all fly correctly (tb2 even drops a pod with an animated mole). fireflash is amimated and once up flies well but take off and landing are pigs and now i know why it kept getting in trouble lol
Great kit for a fantastic show. Loved the Thunderbirds as a kid. I'm a Thunderbird 2 man myself but this looks like it has a lot of potential. Guess you'll have to watch the episode several times, you know, for research purposes. Want to get all those details correct.
Hi Jason, I was watching some old episodes of Mr. Bean(Rowan Atkinson) last night. In one of the scenes, season 1 episode 10, he is getting into bed and guess what? He has a Thunderbird comforter and pillow case! See you next time.
Fireflash landed on 3 elevator cars but what you are forgetting is one the first landing attempt car number 3 has a fault and drives its self into a plane.
I've got the japanese release in my stash waiting to be built for the second time. What I remember when I built my fist one is that the white stripe is a pain and that there isnot enough of it. Would be interested in see what you make of it when it comes to decals as i cannot tell if they are the same and have the same faults of the japanese version.
So you wanted to fly one huh , well i've always wanted to make a radio controlled model of one , so i guess that basically makes me no better . I got to agree with you though , it is a stunning looking aircraft . I've got some line drawings kicking around somewhere . In a japanese book i managed to pick up years ago . Just never had the time , to really sit down , and figure out the issues , i think there will be plenty . Perhaps the biggest , will be lift , It's quite a big aircraft , and the wings are relatively small . So i think the wings are gonna be short of area . I think the only aircraft you could compare it to , would be the american fighter aircraft , F104 , Lockheed Starfighter . There's no addition lift devices like slats or flaps , only air brakes , so to overcome lack of lift , speed would be a go to . Except here the problem is , it may get too fast . Then you have to consider the loss of wing area in the landing configuration . At a time when you need it the most , the stall speed would climb faster than the actual aircraft . Don't forget the wheels are in wingtip pods , and the outer panels folded , would be producing little to no lift at all . And that leads us to another problem , undercarriage . There is no articulation , which would make rotation difficult . That's actually quite an easy one to deal with , but without it , there would be too much stress on the back half during take off and landing . Building the model would be a doddle , getting it to fly would be just a little bit more of a challenge .
Hi Jason, really nice review. I can tell you are more than a little excited to have this kit. I have never heard of the show, or the vehicle. I'll have to do a little searching to see what it's all about. Thanks for sharing. See you next time.

Glad this has been re-issued. The older editions were becoming rarer and more expensive by the day.
The extra car was needed as there was a radio issue with one of the cars when they tried to land the first time. Things we remember of our childhood
Thats right they bring the spare out! Well remembered 👍🏻
i was remembering the same, car 3 decides to piss off just as fireflash lands lol
Will need to get the finger out and finally get around to getting one of these kits.
Now I want to retcon 2 of these to build as British Airways versions in Landor and Chatham liveries as seen on Concorde. :3

@@mickey1299 Tempting, tempting,lol.
Only downside, it's Air France.

I love 1:72 & 1:350 scaled Sci-fi and real kits…
1:72 goes with my large Dragon Saturn V kit
1:350 goes with my large Star Trek 1701 Enterprise
I love the thunderbirds

Got to love thunderbirds
Shouldn't you have strings attached Jason 😉😉
The box art alone sells the kit.

Really don’t like this video as gave me hope that he would actually build it just made me sad when I first watched it as soon as it was posted :(
the video clearly states its a first impressions video only. I will build it at some point, I don't by kits to collect I build them
