It's very impressive when I hear about people who solve the cube on their own, without using any guides from books or the internet. I remember years ago someone posted their own solve using algorithms they came up with on their own and there were actually people complaining how his method was slow and inefficient and that the Beginner's method was far superior. I was like, the dude solve the cube BY HIMSELF! Who cares if his method won't win any speedcubing records?

Can we appreciate the fact that the guy who created the Rubik's cube solved it just with his knowledge.
I think we can all agree that Ernö Rubik is: A god of speedcubing, puzzles and 3D thinking. The one who started my hobby. The guy who made me not waste my time on the Internet, but get out with friends, solve cubes and meet new people having the same hobby. I hope he lives a long life. I wish this man all the luck in life he needs. He deserves it. All of the people that are united because of speedsolving Rubik's cubes (or Magic cubes of course). And it happened because of crazy idea of one teacher.
The real prize of these types of games is always the friends we make along the way ✨ bless him for sure

Erno has been doing these interviews alot and i can see it in his eyes that he is tired of saying the same exact story over and over again
I wouldn’t say he’s “tired” at all despite saying the same story over and over with a few changes in there to change things up as he’s not forced to be in these interviews at all. He’s doing all by choice and that’s a decision he continuously does.

Learning to solve the cube was probably one of the best achievements in my lifetime.when i was a kid I've always wanted to learn to solve until my classmates taught me how to solve it.
I taught myself how to solve them for the funsies, but I could never get into the whole speed cubing thing. In my "prime", when I played around with it often, I could solve them in less than a minute which made for a pretty nifty thing to show off, almost like a bar trick because most folks don't realize just how easy it is if you know how to do it. I can still solve them now but, would probably take a couple of minutes.
Real Interaction Between me and Someone Else:
Guy: Oh, hey, I can solve those!
Me: Really? How fast are you?
Guy: Like, 10 seconds.
Me: What method do you use?
Guy: Uhh. Um.. freestyle?
Me: Huh.

I average around 15 seconds on the 3x3 Rubik's Cube. Everyone saying they can't solve it, YOU CAN. Every single human that has access to a couple tutorials will be able to solve it anywhere at anytime in about a week of practice. Just keep trying

It’s not a toy it’s a puzzle that is amazing and wonderful.
As a Hungarian, I'm not proud of a lot of things in this country..But Rubik Ernő is one of the very very few things I am proud of.
I was 6 years old in 1974 when the cube was created. I finally decided in 2018 to learn how to solve the rubies cube. By 2019 I was proficient at solving the cube. By the time covid19 hit us and forced us into stay at home lockdown in New Zealand I was perfectly ready to pass the t8me with my cube. I now teach my 6 year old daughter and 8 year old son. The mental benefits of the cube are many and impactful.

Rubik's cube is from Hungary. This toy is one of my favourite toys!
Rubik’s cube was one of my favorite toys as a kid besides duck hunt and super Mario bros on Nintendo with my uncle Leonard who was paralyzed we used to play with those toys for hours every Saturday afternoon when he would babysit me my sister and my cousins. We knew how to move him in his wheelchair and he knew how to discipline us even though he was crippled. He was a good dad.

It was once a board game. The planning of moving a group of coins from one end of the square board to the other end with steps of tour like an intersection. Just a 3D version made it look so complicated.

How and why would they teach a Rubik’s Cube in class? Note: it’s just a simple question since I enjoy playing with them-some I use tutorials and upgrade the techniques while other I solved it on my own-and my collection of cubes.

I always think that people are kind of super heros that can solve them
I think Rubik’s cube endure, because (in part) it is such an elegant mechanical object.
And also it shares some of the tactile appeal of : tangles, fidget spinners, mechanical rings and other such things.
And thirdly, it’s a puzzle.

I had one when I was a child. Never managed to solve it and got bored with it soon.
