    This is the only video I found about stuck blades and really did the trick. 3 rib bones unstuck the blades of my insinkerator. Thanks!

    How is it stuck if it's moving??

      The impeller lugs , tbh I also think fixed impellers are great they don't get stuck like swivel lugs

    FORGET the peach or avocado pits or bones unless you just have some sluggish spinning grinders. Mine were stuck SOLID.
    The pits did nothing. I got a long thin chisel that had weight to it and sprayed the two spinners with WD-40 and gently tapped, tapped, tapped the grinders until they started to move and break loose. It just took a minute or two. You can use anything similar such as a piece of thin pipe. I then thoroughly cleaned the grinders and area around it with a good degreasing cleanser and a thin brush. I used Spray 9 and then some dawn and barkeepers friend. I then ran some ice in the disposal. It is running like new now.

    Awesome. I used a hand full off ice a couple times and it worked.

    Thank you SO much for this. Worked like a charm. I did prime with WD40 first, and I used a single pork chop bone. Did the trick! And saved me hundreds of $$ !!!

    Had the same problem with blades frozen and put one raw short rib bone in and after a few seconds both blades were free. Did remove the rubber guard to help see the problem. That helped identify the blades were in fact frozen. Great video

    This technique worked perfectly, thank you! I did not have any bones to use but did have small chunks of frozen fish which worked perfectly.

    I used a lamb neck bone. Worked great.

    This makes no sense, if the blades are rusted shut they are not moving.

    I would think that WD40 would be better to use? Let it soak. I had sprayed inside mine and after a while, it came unstuck and worked great!

    the mass there isn't enough to stop/overheat it right away like that watch someone shove a sink full of bones down it running the entire video with no cool off they'll typically run under-load for a good 10-25 minutes before it overheats the case with ice at least, and that's more mass than a tiny bone or 3

      Did you check the circuit breaker usually a red button - on the bottom? Just push it in and try turning it on again - if there is no hum, that is a problem for a pro. But if it hums and then shuts down again ... and if there is rust inside the disposal ... you can try pouring vegetable oil down it and letting it sit for a few hours - OR I recently spray WD40 around the blade and the bottom - convenient when the container of WD40 has its 'straw nozzle attached. Again, let it sit over night and try turning it on again and make sure to press in the RED button on the very BOTTOM of the OUTSIDE of the disposal, because if it got flipped, it shut off the electricity to the disposal and must be pressed in before it will turn on again.

    I used Pb blaster, let that sit. Then take long flat screwdriver and pried both loose. Then ice and dawn dishsoap to clean.

    I put a little pile citric acid on the blades and let sit for 20 min.

      Like water dripping on a car over a long period minerals will develop. A tame acid can dissolve minerals. Doing so loosened the bonds of Iron Oxide.
      I also Suggest a squart of WD40 to aid in the process.
      WD40 should be in every household.

    The ice cubes burned up my disposal motor. Are you going to buy me a replacement disposal?

    • @aunabreslingaming3279
      @aunabreslingaming3279 Před 3 lety +3

      they can take the ice cubes they either clogged it (and overwhelmed it with pure girth, yaknow slushie? which can only last for a good few minutes before it overheats than shuts off) but don't think of it like the motor burned out like a cheap blender would from too much ice. they have a trip circuit that tests it and when it gets too hot they trip think of it like when you run a marathon and you're warm and you shut down after it's like that rather than you just dying randomly they don't just die from a couple cubes if u just put in 3 or 4 it was already doomed in the actual case that it didn't shut down the ice didn't do it (hell, even a full rack of 20 wouldn't do that alone)

    I tried this and the blade broke free and an piece of rib flew up into my left eye. Now I am partially blind in my left eye and I have $7,800 in medical bills. What is your name and address so I can send my lawsuit to the correct person?

    • @geraldwe
      @geraldwe Před rokem +2

      You obviously weren't following the procedure in the video. The person in the video put the drain stopper in place before turning on the disposal, which apparently, you did not do! You're at fault, not the video creator!
