pc-98 osts are so funky~ i love how intense they are, zun truly knows how to give emotion to his music and you did an awesome job at remixing it to this style ^^
Though this isn't what I'd call a PC-98 remix in the vein of the actual Touhou PC-98 games themselves I do think you've done an excellent composition of the original.
I had used a soundfont that was considered as PC-98, but nowadays, I use a different and more accurate PC-98 soundfont, with some of the sounds ripped by myself. Check out my latest PC-98 remix and you'll see what I mean.
I guess it's because ZUN used another sound stuff of PC-98, so the drums sound different (maybe, it's OPN/OPNA). And what's in this video, is the regular PC-98 sounds.
OPN or OPNA? The NEC PC line of computers had two different soundcards - the OPN (Which is half of the Sega Genesis's soundchip) and the OPNA (Which is the Sega Genesis's soundchip, but with additional PCM channels for rhythm and one dedicated channel for samples, thus providing six full FM channels). These two chips were in both PC-88s and PC-98s.

sounds mor like sega genesis.
I believe the Sega Genesis sound chip is simply the PC-98 sound chip minus six channels each dedicated to a single PCM drum sample.
Not even close to PC-98. Sorry
I did use the PC-98 soundfont, but I guess I should have reduced the number of instruments.
this is plenty pc98, just not 2hu pc98
