    Multi-lingual, multi-ethnic, multi-religious Indians reaching this great height of artistry, and preserving the culture of India. In my opinion, these people are the greatest Hindus, not the self-proclaimed thekedaars of so-called Hinduism.

      I don't know what made you mention thekedaars of SO-CALLED hinduism bcz in my Opinion they are greatest muslims and not those self-proclaimed thekedaars of SO-CALLED Islam.
      At least your comment shows you have no expectation from muslims that they can even hypothetically proclaim to be a preserver of Indian culture.

    Truly, Begum Parveen Sultana ji is Saraswati herself in the human form❣️ her voice is just awesome it's so spiritual ❣️ omg seeing this interview listening to her feels so happy and emotional, don't know why ,I don't even know how to sing but still this baithak is so heart touching ❣️
    What Parveen ji said about discrimination that there should not be any discrimination among gender or religion, that's what the modern generation should learn from people like her because in today's India even the youths are discriminating people on basis of religion.
    Truly these thekedars in every religion are totally on degrading the beauty of nation

    lifetime to perfect and master a single raag. There is nothing more beyond it. She explains things very well...her voice has a huge range and is very powerful. I am a total devotee of the Patiala gharana. grew up listening to Ustad Bade Ghulam Ali from the day I was born....

Har Padit aur Ustad ko bhi mai ekbar iss video dekhne ke liye aur dil se sunne ke liye darkhast karunga. Man ki baat yeh hai ki bhai gaane ka andaz kharaj se suru kokar khuda ke pass pahunchta hai. • @madhvamunirao.sandhyavanda40

    Parveen ji and Dilshad ji made the Baithak unforgettable experience. Pt.Arvind ji raised a very critical question on practitioner's role and responsibility in offering 'mass' and 'class' musical value and experiences. Unfortunately, Parveen ji did not answer rightly. Classical music can never be 'mass' music in appreciation but, certainly it can be 'critically mass' music in appreciation. Idealism in Indian Classical music are of three: 1. Pamara ranjakatva, pleasing the uninitiated listeners; 2. Pandita ranjakatva, pleasing the learned listeners; 3. Pandita-Pamara ranjakatva, pleasing both the learned and uninitiated listeners. Pandita-Pamara ranjakatva is given the highest state. It's because the value of intellectual pleasure in 'recall' of first, original experience and 'first, original' experience. Performer has the prime responsibility to uplift and enrich the musical experience of the listeners; meritocracy over populism; never to pander to offer musical values of other forms of music-devotional; light; film; natya; theatre; folk; fusion. To win the 'critical mass appeal', thematic concerts to be performed to familiarise the uninitiated listeners how the classical music holds the form and also the ability to adapt. Offer only pure classicism in performance of classical music concert. Listeners must also have the discipline of learning the fundamental and basic knowledge to appreciate the classical music and listen with mind, unconditioned, free and fresh to have immersive experience.

    • @madhvamunirao.sandhyavanda40
      @madhvamunirao.sandhyavanda40 Před 4 lety

      D.Roy Sir, Indian Classical music can not be 'music for the masses' but eminently can achieve 'music for the critical mass'. This is the reality. Is this intention in my comment 'speaks of downright arrogance'?

      Classification is not by me but by great maestro scholars writing and teaching. I have partaken the knowledge. Is there no practice of identities given for 'scholar', 'initiated' and 'uninitiated' rasikas?

    When I was in grade 8 there was a LP of Parveen Sultana with her in a green and pink dress (Ahir Bhairav, & a sadra in Bhairavi). I loved her singing and a had huge crush on her. I must have heard that record so many times - poor record it got spoiled.
