No pride or reservations on classical music and gharana. an unbridled thirst for all music and sharing it all freely and holding nothing back . Enjoying all traditions even western and bound by none . No wonder Kaushiki Chakraborty is where she is right now. Shat shat Naman.
HE is the phenomenon that I am fortunate to call my Guruji! It has been life changing to have been associated with him for the last 30 plus years! He is a musical ocean...you all just got a very slight taste of it here. Koti pranams!

Yogesh Samsi in Calgary last weekend, and having watched this video in advance (with the English subtitles!) allowed me to appreciate the performance 70 times more than I would have otherwise. Thank you, Pt. Parikh; your efforts have borne fruit throughout the world.

This Baithak was great Panditji. Residing outside India, I miss all the concerts. We attend the Darbar Festival, but due to covid that is stopped. Now that I have retired, I have the time for my passion. Is there a book I can follow, which has only saregama practice. I have studied music in Baroda music college, but had to leave after completing my Diploma. Married and settled in UK. Now the children have left the nest and I have just retired from my job, I can focus on my love, music. I really enjoyed this lesson of Baithak. What a brilliant idea. Please keep on sending us these gems. 🙏🙏🙏

Can you, in one of your baithaks, talk about the relationship between Ustd Vilayat Khan and Pandit Nikhil Banerjee? Pdtji's playing of gats is definitely in the gayaki tradition, no doubt inspired by Vilayat Khan sahib and UStd Amir Khan. Did you personally interact with Pdtji? It would be great if you can analyze his music in layman terms , share your memories of him and elaborate on his relationship with Ustd Vilayat khan in a video.

His work, his teaching /principles are so serene.... He should take many more births to keep the Indian music pure and divine. Kaushiki is really blessed to have him as her father and teacher. very well said Pandit Ji, in Indian Classical music there has been no research in musicianship, in terms of accompaniment. Fully agree with you Sir. Maybe the reason could be that our music is not "polyphonic" in nature.
