    The perfect antidote to all those super slick CZcams videos. A genuinely lovely vibe.

    Dude, that was epic. Those came out insanely cool. I'm not surprised at all. Classic Jason. Well done. Nice howling wolf pups at the end there 😂

    Ace! Getting inspired watching these videos and the 424 ones.. I used to make lots of DIY releases on CD, with card sleeves and the like. I've come around to the idea of cassettes now, they're a really great format (physical/analog/portable/cheap/home recordable). So I've bought a box of blank tapes, an old AKAI tape deck (and a Denon deck which I accidentally bought on eBay by putting in a super low bid I didn't think would win, so anyway I have 2 decks now). I've just ordered one of those scoring boards, I used to do a light score with a knife, but would invariably mess it up and cut too far. Looking forward to getting some made now. Cheers!

      This is all great stuff man! Aside from a decent tape deck, those scoring boards and good paper cutter are two of my favorite tools in my tool belt. Welcome to the wonderful world of tapes!

    Awesome video! I’ve made some diy tapes before. (The scoring board is a game changer, isn’t it!) But I used labels instead of stamps. I love how your stamping turned out. Maybe I’ll try that on my next tape. Thanks for making these vlogs! I’ve been binging them all day and really dig your style!!

    • @jasonelambeth
      @jasonelambeth  Před 2 lety +1

      Hell yeah to the scoring board. That thing blew my mind when I first got it. Gotta say, the stamping still holds up. I honestly think it's easier than printing out the stickers, way more satisfying too.

    Thank you so much for this video Jason. I'm going to be doing a little run of DIY cassettes soon in which I'll include my debut single which I put out last year, and the EP I'm going to put out soon.
    This video gives me so much clarity and hope.

      Thanks man! It’s been a bit since I made this. I don’t remember if it was all that informative. I would definitely recommend Mike’s 424 recording channel. I linked a playlist in the video description that is all diy tape making!

      I've only used rubberstampchamp.com so far. They've done a good job for me. Pretty painless process too.

    Thanks for the video once again....Jason!! Greatly informative on my end! Also what I always found weird with the tapes you and Mike get with No tabs. What the heck would be the purpose of buying tapes tab-Less? Does not make any sense.All the blank cassettes I bought since the 70's Always had tabs!! I don't think I am missing something here with tapes without tabs Pretty much Dumb science to even sell them that way! Anyway I never have to worry about that problem. keep up the Great stuff, Jason. And be Safe!! That goes for everyone on here seeing your vids. Take Care now!! Thanks again! Oh yeah...when did you get those human puppies at the end?

    • @jasonelambeth
      @jasonelambeth  Před 4 lety +1

      That is a great question man. The only thing I can suspect is that maybe they come tab-less is because sometimes it's hard to get a clean break when ever I pop these tabs. The ones with the tabs already out look more professional. That's the only reason I could possibly see. But yeah, I never even bothered popping out the tabs when I made tapes for people back in the day.
      Got one of my pups almost 8 years ago! The other one is almost 4 years old, time flies!!
      Stay safe buddy, we're hunkered down for the foreseeable future over here in Madison. Take care!
