Fish n chips used to be affordable, now it's more of a treat!
I visited here about a year ago and had haddock and chips in Murgatroyd's restaurant ..I couldn't finish it and I'd not had breakfast so very hungry ! 😋 Very very tasty I agree with you Lee has to be above 10/10 the service is spot on very welcoming and great hospitality too I cannot fault Murgatroyd's one jot - sheer perfection all round 🤗
Can’t believe the size of that fish Lee. Looked more like a whale than a haddock 🤣. Great friendly staff and reasonable price too. Has to be a 10/10 again from me mate. Faultless. Thanks for sharing buddy👍🏻
A few years ago, when I had a family, we were flying back to NL from LBA having spent Christmas in Hull with my parents. The ex-missus - Russian - really wanted fish and chips, and as flying ex-LBA, Murgatroyds in Yeadon was the obvious option.
Me, her; adult haddock and chips. Our kids, then eight and four, kids' haddock and chips. We demolished everything we were served, and despite me thinking it was a bit of a gimmick - being the old/original Harry Ramsdens and all - I was utterly stunned by how good the place is.
Back in the UK for Christmas and New Year, with my now-10 year old, I intend on being back. We're in the Yorkshire countryside for the best part of two weeks. Will be going back to Holland a bloater.

Me & the family went for lunch today after a walk around Yeadon tarn. Definitely number one for me.
That was spot on 10 to me. I’ve eaten fish and chips in England, Canada and the USA and those looked absolutely awesome!

Simply the best. Highly reccomend. I think they gave you a special or the " Big Un" for the price of a standard meal though ! knocks H.Ramsdens and the Wetherby whaler for 6.

Try the Norfolk Pie Man if you're anywhere near Sheringham for Norfolk Pie and mash. PS tried Grellies in Gt Yarmouth on your recommendation and boy the best fish I've ever had and ghetto think I always used to walk past there a hidden gem on the sea front.

Rosie Lea cafe in Cherry Willingham (which is a village near Lincoln) small friendly cafe, large fry up with hot drink around £8. Great quality food.
Thompson fish and chips shop in Bury. Wicked pea fritter there. Well worth a visit, lathered in vinegar. Lovely.
When I lived in Yeadon I used to get my fish and chips at ' The Little Fisherman'
Ahh we love murgatroyds, used to travel down for a day out with a murgatroyds a walk around the tarn lake and then watching the planes take off and land at leeds airport view point, class
Heavens to Murgatroyds! (Snagglepuss?)....I keep meaning to have a crack at that but it's over the border in West Yorkshire, does look delicious though. Had a very decent large haddock today at Deep Blue in Wetwang - Yorkshire Wolds for my lunch, great chippy if you are ever in that area.

WOW that a whole school of fish. Amazing piece of fish. I was at Kellys in Looe in 2021 and was amazed at the size of the regular. Most places after that had about the same size of regular. No wonder you eat fish and chips all the time, it's the meal that keeps on giving.
A massive 10 for me too. What a great value in this day and age.
Pop to Exmouth if your near Torquay - its only a few miles down the road and visit the award winning fish and chip shop Krispies - it will blow your mind mate

I was in murgatroyds about 4 years ago it was absolutely amazing the fish was absolutely huge. I intend to go back some day again
It is as you say Lee,had the takeout many a time i bypass all my local chippies and drive about 8 miles just to get the best fish n chips,always consistent never had a bad 1.

Great review Lee. Whenever we’re heading off on holiday, if we fly from LBA we always stay at the Premier Inn opposite Murgatroyds. Eaten at the Beefeater next to the hotel a couple of times, but regretted it. Murgatroyds is the must go to place. Best fish & chips IN THE WORLD 🌍, definitely 👍🏼😁

Goodness me that fish and chips looks off the scale or as DJ would say “off the charts”! That’s a massive piece of fish and the size of those chunks of haddock. Now wonder the place looked so busy from the outside. Mushy peas and curry sauce too. Couldn’t see tomato ketchup which I love on fish and chips. That place is a winner Lee pity there weren’t a branch my way in Norfolk. 10/10 rating from me.👍😉

The Welcome Stranger in Lanivet, Cornwall is outstanding and is a family run business. Would be a great trip, plus the pub opposite is spot on.

Love Murgatroyds fish and chips. Usually get them to take away, then go eat them whilst watching planes take off/fly in then a walk around Yeadon Tarn with the kids so they can feed the ducks and play in the park. Used to do the same when I was a kid but there was no Murgatroyds, we used to go to a fish shop just opposite on the junction (think it's now a restaurant)

My favourite for fish and chips ,drive 15 miles for them ,I flew back from Nice 3years ago ,last day there sat in the sun with friends on the sea front ,arrived back next day pouring down ,came out of Leeds Bradford airport ,shall I turn right for home or left and drive a mile for Murgatroyds had to be fish and chips there.Cracking!

I've eaten there in the restaurant; the food was excellent. I had the Cod and my wife had the Haddock, neither of us could finish it. it will probably be a long time before I'm there again as I'm from the Midlands. I Would recommend anybody to try it.
LEE the best fish and chips I've had in Lancashire is Wheelans in Lytham..not Yorkshire good as they are cooked in oil...but way better than anything I can get down South. Every trip I take up North we go there. Rick Stein and Gorden Ramsey both gave the place a glowing report.

Cracking portion of fish and chips! I live in Torquay and didn't know we have a hotel in the town doing an all you can eat breakfast for a fiver. However we do have a few award winning chippy's in Torbay. Will have to pop along for a chat Lee.
I hope one day Lee u will pop into The Port House in Stourport for. Breakfast which I forgot to mention is between 9am & 12 noon 7 day’s a week. Again £3.99 with a tea or coffee inclusive & their large breakfast is £5.99 with a tea or coffee their gut buster with a coffee or tea is 7.99. They also do veggie & brekky bap’s etc too. That meat on the fish u had there Lee looked well nice! 10 plus out of 10 plus. Great vlog as always

All other chip shops take note. I'm starving now. Met you outside Majors chip shop in Bilston, when u came to the West Midlands. A quarter of that fish is bigger than Majors with those expensive prices.
