  • The burger wars between McDonalds and Burger King is going on for decades already.
    While both McDonalds and Burger King are incredible fast food giants now, both the chains started from humble beginnings. Burger King started off in 1954 in Florida while McDonalds started running a year later in California. With McDonalds and it’s signature burger, the Big Mac and Burger King’s Whopper, both the joints took over the fast food landscape pretty effortlessly. By the 80’s, burgers had become the number one fast food choice for children and adults alike. Specially in the United States, burger chains were popping up left right and centre. Places like Wendy’s, Hardee’s and In-N-Out were all quickly becoming fan favourites. But obviously, McDonalds and Burger King were at the forefront of it all! But, with so much competition, the 80s was also a time when Burger companies started investing millions of dollars into marketing campaigns to make their product stand out - and that was the beginning of the Burger War...

    To me it's all depends on what restaurant you visit and the workers and management have a big difference. You can tell because everyone isn't the same. That's really the downfall poor service and poor management at individual locations

    Burger King's food actually looks and smells good to the senses, Mc'Donalds looks and smells like fake plastic food. YUCK! But Wendy's and Culvers is even better than both of them. In the end we lose with major obesity and heart attacks.

      You're referring to the first McDonald's restaurant owned by the McDonald brothers while we're talking about the incorporation by Ray Croc that happened in 1955. That's when McDonald's became what it is today.
      And Burger King was not founded in 1953, the restaurant you're referring to is Insta-Burger King, which went bankrupt.
      Burger King was created from one of Insta Burger King's franchises in 1954.
      Feel free to check out our video about Burger King for a more detailed explanation :)

    I really don't get how these chains got so big. Their food is sub-par compared to burgers you can get from proper take away stores. Their fries are always lousy compared to real fries (chips). The food really doesn't taste that great. Yes, it's convenient. But surely they could make the food taste better - hell, even make it look like it does in the ads!
    Yes, I eat it. But I really don't enjoy it.

    • @ThisIsThePlanet
      @ThisIsThePlanet  Před 2 lety +1

      I think that's exactly the reason. You almost always have to cut back on quality to grow your business. Fresh, handmade food is expensive, and that's what local restaurants focus on. The downside is that they can't really grow, which is perfectly fine. Quality over quantity, while McDonald's and BK focus on quantity over quality.
      One company that has tried to do both is In-N-Out Burger. They tried to remain a family business and only grow slowly.
      I also made a video about their story that you are welcome to watch, if you like :)
