    Great video guy's, after watching this I'm just starting to understand how technical and important all the different components on the bikes really are. Awesome 6th month review. Its amazing listening to how much you've learnt in such a short amount ot time. Fully entertaining. Can't wait to see your next adventure out in the wilds!!!

      We try to show that designing this bike was no easy task, but polygon certainly accomplished it well

    Cable Pull. and update here.. the 3 finger gap didn't fix the issue on its own on the Marin. I put a metal endcap at the shifter end, and cable tied the 3 finger loop under the BB onto the bashguard hole. Hasn't played up since. If you want a photo let me know. In my opinion it's poor design. Take a look at the Norcos and others even the new Marin Riftzone they've fixed this as they run the cables above the BB Shell. Also, the SLX cranks are an excellent upgrade! Nice video fellas!

    It’s seems to be lighter than some trek bikes like the fuel ex 5. Did you ever go tubeless to drop a bit of weight?

    • @TwinPeaks_MTB
      @TwinPeaks_MTB  Před 29 dny +1

      We never did go tubeless, we weren’t really afraid of weight and as you said, for a budget allow frame it was fairly well weighted even with the massive tires. Kept the tubes for rolling speed, don’t know how strong the tires sidewalls are so I can’t really recommend or speak against going tubeless. Hope this helps, tires had plenty of traction for where we were riding at least!!

    What are your thoughts on the T9? Do you think the upgrades are worth the money? Or maybe look at a different bike at that price point?

    • @TwinPeaks_MTB
      @TwinPeaks_MTB  Před 4 měsíci +1

      I just had a look through the spec, great value for the money!! If you’re looking to shred the bike hard I would recommend trading off that better spec for a stronger frame from another company, it’s important to remember that’s it is still 140mm of travel. But if you’re confident that the bike style is right for you, at its current sale price from @bikesonline it’s a bargain! Just remember to keep an eye on other bikes that may interest you, because you never know what discounts are around the corner!

      @akiramiyazono Před 3 měsíci +1

      @TwinPeaks_MTB What other options for that price point do you thi k are out there? Currently I am hitting some table tops and 3-6ft drops. Nothing too crazy, and I am doing that on my trek x-caliber 8 lol. I don't think I will be shredding "hard" for a bit

    • @TwinPeaks_MTB
      @TwinPeaks_MTB  Před 3 měsíci +2

      @@akiramiyazono From a quick skim online the trek fuel ex 7 is basically $2000 off at $100 cheaper than the t9, usually the ex 5 is the direct competitor but the ex7 could be a good idea if you’re looking for stronger frames instead of stronger components. Cube has discounted the stereo one55 carbon around $2500 off, pretty cool bike for that club price (online) of $3776. If you want something a bit bigger you can opt for a marine alpine trail or trek slash gen 5 (DO NOT GET GEN 6), I hope this helps I put 20 minutes into this 😂.
