  • Some of the trains that run on the C line are made up of R32-type equipment, which have passenger accessible front windows! This allows for the creation of videos that show the view ahead. Here we see a timelapse version of this view, compressing an hour and 10-minute ride into just a few minutes! Enjoy!

    Great video, always fun to watch....the one thing I noticed is considering the amount of passengers, the subways are very clean. That's a testament to the MTA and the passengers..Frank

    it is interesting to see how some stations are very close, you can nearly see the light from one station as your leaving the last, whereas others are quite far away.

      Yep, that's normal in the higher density areas. We have that here in our downtown Toronto stations.

      Yep!! It use to go outdoors back when I was in high school. They stopped that in late 1992. It also went to the Bronx originally. It was a very long route, but I use to like that I always got a seat haha! The trains were really old. Some were from the 1940s!! R16s and some others at the time.

      @@ariesmichaelsayan4013 man it would’ve been amazing to see footage of the C train going outside and you’re right about the C going along the D train’s route to the Bronx. I was looking at an older subway map and I was surprised that the C went up there initially.

      @@Echo_R21 there was a station along Grand Concourse that still had the C signs 10 years ago. I always wondered how it lasted up there so long lol. The C was originally the Concourse line. It’s suppose to be running in the Bronx, but of course times change. The C is the only line in MTA history that has had the privilege of running through 4 boroughs. You would have loved me view along West Farms Square in the 80s. We saw all the graffiti trains passing 24/7. I wish we took photos!

    the train sometimes stops short of the end of the platform and sometimes stops a little ways into the next tunnel. is this because of platform length or some other reason?

    • @SparenofIria
      @SparenofIria Před 5 lety

      The C train uses 8 car 60 foot trains instead of the 10 car 60 foot/8 car 75 foot trains used elsewhere on the IND (except Crosstown). As a result, the trains are shorter than the platform.

    • @SparenofIria
      @SparenofIria Před 5 lety

      @@b.griffin317 On this line, all of the platforms are built for 600 foot trains, so there's always a 120 foot gap on the C trains. It might be at the front, the back, or a combination. Depends on the station.
