      @TriJetSimPilot Hi, yes I bought the MD11 for fsx many years back. It was one of PMDGs first aircraft, the graphics were good but not up to today's sim, but the systems modelling and functionality were really good. It also is very frame rate friendly as a result, which suits my computer, so I use it alot. A shame PMDG stopped selling the MD11 when they concentrated on P3d aircraft.

    Hi Captain, thanks for the video! You do not select 500ft in the ALT window on an RNAV APPR, if you entered the correct value in the FMS (minProf), you should be able to select the min ALT in the ALT window (i.e. 497ft- it will turn magenta then)- why did you choose the CAT C Minimum and not the CAT D?
    As far as I remember: on a Non Prec Appr, you select the GA ALT only AFTER executing a GA- that makes it very tricky, in case you forget to do, the plane will not climb, it might descend when AP is selected on. Thanks!

    I was glad to see this video as I am struggling with RNAV. For KJFK I have the RNVY31R approach in my FMC and and MDA entered for Prof. Using Heading select I manoever the MD to the FAF at the correct altitude but nothing is showing on the PFD to indicate I am set up for the approach. No vertical guidance. Have I missed something obvious? Any help much appreciated 😊

      I’m at a loss. You should have the MDA/DA in the altitude window. PROF AND NAV should be selected, and I would also open up the A/S window and not use FMS Speed.

    • @FatherTime1958
      @FatherTime1958  Před měsícem +1

      The PROF back in 1997 was not smooth. It hunted and the pitch would fluctuate. Our guidance was to use level change for altitude changes greater than 2,000 feet and V/S for altitude changes less than 2,000 feet. It may work better IRL now, but PROF not smooth back in 1997.

    Well, today TFDi kicked me out of their discord because I wouldnt agree that the plane doesnt have issues. They tell me two days ago that my issue was a “known issue”. Today Fabio tells me that he doesnt have the issue. I said its either known or it isnt. Back and forth….finally I said “well, I guess Im not waiting for a fix, so I will give the plane away”. They then proceeded to tell me it was against their rules etc. Im tired of devs like this. Release an $80 beta, then dismiss the issues its clearly having. It isnt any better, or more reliable, than the E-Jet series, and yet we were charged a high price by a company with an attitude. Im done. Will just stick with companies like Fenix and iniBuilds

      @@softreset82 ….they dont want realistic reviews or posted issues. They want us to be thankful for paying that much and having a plane that clearly is not finished. @@jay-rus4437 Regrettably, this is the new norm and it started years ago. These small teams release an MVP so they can infuse cash to pay their people. But even look at INI, when the A306 released they've had what... 2? 3? patches to address critical flaws as a result of patches? That plane was not ready on day one either. I had zero expectations that the MD-11 would be enjoyable before the .3 release. Still bought it, but I've learned to just accept it as part of the transaction experience.

When I am cruising at FL350 with everything more or less the same as the real thing, I think to myself this is a f’ing miracle! It’s worth every penny and more to me. I think a big issue is releasing without a manual, but then again, how many these days would read a manual to answer their questions?

      Hi Jay. Well, all that I can say is that I am not involved with the Discord Channel. TFDi makes their own decisions over there. I have noticed, while lurking, that there is a certain intolerance when they attempt to answer the question and their answer is rejected. They usually don't spend a lot of time trying to argue/debate/discuss. I love the plane, and I have zero issues operating it in any condition.
