My favorite reviewer. You always present info like you’ve had the car for years. Much appreciated.
black decal prevents rocks from chipping the flared out wheel wells on the rear.
Indeed, 911’s had the option to get black decals in the 996 997 generation. I believe they still have decals but transparent.
The Lotus Evora is one of the most underrated cars. The Evora makes me really look forward to seeing the Evija. I love everything about that Evora, and the Toyota engine will ensure a certain level of reliability. A shame Toyota couldn't get that kind of sound out of the TRD Camry. No Camry ever sounded like that. Great review of an incredible car.
Um, nobody underrates the Evora which is why it's value has been staying strong.
@@bigmacdaddy1234
I just meant Evora sales are typically a lot lower than certain Porsche etc. competitors.

A guy on Instagram has the lotus headers and supercharger on his lexus es350, sounds amazing. I wish Toyota would supercharge the 2gr in a new car, like a supercharged is350
BECAUSE OF THE CAMERA MOUNT BEHIND YOU WHILE DRIVING, this was one of the best road reviews of this car I have seen so far. You really gave a great view from the driver's seat of just how fast and nimble this car is on the road. THANKS!
Man your commentary on oretga hwy + a fast ride = a great video
Having owned a Lotus, among other great sports cars, I offer this:
"Nothing handles like a Lotus. NOTHING!"
Which one did you own sir?
"At only 1600lbs, the Europa was the ultimate culmination of its founder's core belief...
"Adding power makes you faster on the straights; subtracting weight makes you faster everywhere”.
-Colin Chapman
Founder of Lotus
“The only car that handles like a Lotus is another Lotus”
What other sport cars have you owned?

Got mine a few weeks ago and it’s amazing!
Forrest, this is your best review since the Lexus GS-F, but for different reasons. THANK YOU for getting the induction/exhaust sound on this review. Please feel free to make another video of just that noise without any talking. This car deserves it.
I enjoyed the hell out of this video, The drive video was perfect, Great job as always.
Great review! Your channel is now my go-to for car reviews. I thought I would live this car and began to get disuaged by other reviewers but feel you review for thise if us who don't drive P1s, and Huracons regularly. I am sold in this car. Thanks!
That lotus looks amazing
Great video as always bro 👍🏾
The Wal-Mart check out beep! Love it! 🤣 Nice review Forrest!
Great job. Love the honesty.
Great review..you covered all the aspects of this beautiful car.
Lotus is THE most underrated sportscar car out there. Will def have an older Elise someday as the pricing used as you said, makes them a bargain- less even than a new Camry (maybe it’s the shared engine, haha).
Recent Lotus review? I upvote cuz I’m a simple man. Keep it up, broski
Great review, I'm loving my S1 Evora!
I'd be loving my S1 Europa! ...if it ran... :o(
Great job. Made me want to drive an Evora, even though I already have one!
Good video, man. I've never seen any of your stuff, but I love this car and it was so nice to see someone keepin it real with the review. A lot of car review people have this fake media personality that's just boring, predictable, and repetitive. Your video quality is good without being overly professional. I'm not sure how else to describe that, but it's a good thing. Just a couple bits of advice, and you might have already done this in your new videos, but when you put graphics up on the screen, like the hp/tq numbers, put the colored background first, then the black text. It's easier to read. Also, consider better mic placement when recording exhaust sounds. Or even when you're in the car. There were a couple times when the cameraman turned around to look at the engine and that took the mic's focus off of your voice. Overall, very nice review.
That colour! holy moly
That rear decal protects the paint from front tire debris and road debris since the rear fenders are so aggressive.
Interesting! Thank you!
Awesome review! Planning to get one of these soon. :)
Great review!
They should have made the exhaust button light up when the sport button lights up. That would indicate the exhaust is louder in sport mode. Then you would press the exhaust button to quieten it if you want. The button would function identically in sport and normal mode.
I thought I’d never see a channel with a person of color reviewing and driving nice cars, the algorithm did great today.
Terrific review of a terrific sports car!
I haven't driven this car, but I'm going to hazard a guess that you'd probably get that little bit of extra feedback that's missing if you switched the car to race mode. Great review.
Glad you mentioned the automatic trans. Where is it mounted? On the floor or the steering wheel? Thanks, great review.
New Sub! I enjoyed your review!
Awesome man!
So glad you had your eyes opened to the best driving car on the planet.
Enoyed the review. Got mine in February, and love it!
What other cars were you looking at? Thanks
I traded a 2011 Caymen S, so a little older, and a newer version could have been in play. Also, the new Corvette deserved consideration. At my age, I really don't want to be another old white guy in a Corvette, and I didn't want to wait. The Cayman was not going to be a big change, and neither could be as unique, or match the driving experience!@@drdoom9592
@@markmitchell6957 very nice thanks for the reply. I’m looking at getting a lotus evora gt or a 718 gt4 hopefully next year depending on the economy my business has been suffering due to Covid. I sold my 2013 viper in July looking for a fun replacement🏁🏁
I love your HAIR!!!
The funny thing is - this is what Lotus calls a GT car. It is much more racer than most other competitors "Racing" of their top tier line up Versions. I have an Elise 111R now and consider "upgrading" to an Evora. The 400 or the GT/GT410 is very tempting... Good review, like the way you do this.
hI nice video, sounds really great. Does it have the stock exhaust or the sport exhaust in it as an option in this articular car you are driving. Input much appreciated
Great ride! Ortega Highway is a plus.
My notifications are on!
Could you maybe do a Toyota Highlander Hybrid Limited? They are SUPER cool and I would love if you did a review on it
Decal probably for rock chip protection from being thrown up from front wheel indent area.
Got a yellow one in france!!!!
Fantastic !!!!
Lotus isn't known for holding their value? Huh? A 2005 Elise will cost you more today than when it was new. And a 2010 Evora still sells for 50k when they were 58k new.. I think they have better resale than any sports car manufacturer..
Hi man Nice review!. I don’t wanna sound rude in any way but I strongly feel that if you put the car tittle first and then the saying I know it would really improve your click through rate. I’ve seen your channel a few times and your quality of video is really good but the algorithm is really effecting you and from a viewers exercise I just found my self reading only the first part of each video and not clicking on it maybe others can relate I would say try putting the name of the car first and than anything you’d like to say, now don’t take this in a bad way you have really great reviews, I just thought you deserve more views so told you what might improve click through rate. Keep up the good work man!
“the most Wal Mart checkout beep” made me lol so hard when I heard it, it’s perfect
Your comment has me lol because I completely slipped the "lol" part😄😄
@@dontplay_withme.965 omfg 😂
I am with you on the black triangle decal in front of the back wheels. I don’t have it on my evora 400. Not sure what this is about it being black rather than a transparent protection.
Am so attracted to that car. first time seeing it though and its shaking my love for the jaguar f type
Great review! I test drove an Evora, ended up buying something a little more hardcore but I remember it being a very capable and balanced car.
What did u buy?
@@bmx687 AR 4C :)
Should've tried an exige 430 lol
@@TheHesK9 I don't fit in those cars :(
Anything that would make an FK8 shifter seem Fisher Price must be absolutely sublime. I'm renting an Evora from Turo in a few weeks. ;)
Is the sound of this vehicle decent enough or is the titanium exhaust recommended?
Absolutely love this car Forrest. It looks killer from the outside, interior could be alittle more uptodate but it’s Lotus and that’s what you get. Sadly not made in Britain anymore as the company was bought and moved to China but still an iconic brand.
No still made in uk. Chinese owned though. But all cars still made in uk
@@starwarsrevealed2046 oh that’s good, thanks mate, I thought they’d moved everything to Beijing.
Try to review a Series 2 Lotus Elise with a Supercharged Honda K Swap or a Series 2 2005 Lotus Exige S (Supercharged 1.8 Toyota / Yamaha). I'll bet my life you'll utterly love it more than the Evora! If you can't get the aforementioned models, a Series 3 Exige will be an excellent thrill too.
I've been buying Lotus sports cars new from the dealer since 1996. You have to understand the marketing concept known as "Positioning" to understand this manufacturer.
They offer performance exceeding Porsche at the same or lower price. The comparison to Porsche is because Porsche is the only other manufacturer of non-front-engined sports cars that export from Europe to the U.S in this price range of around $100,000.
The power and especially handling performance of Lotus cars is in line with much more expensive mid-engine exotics like Lamborghini and Ferrari at a much lower price point. Since Lotus has an auto engineering consultancy business, the auto manufacturing part of their business is somewhat underwritten by the engineering consultancy part of Lotus.
But the most important part to many Lotus buyers is the exclusivity of very low production numbers. While Ferrari produces tens of thousands of cars every year - for example, the 458 alone was produced at a rate of 15,000 cars in the year 2019 (see www.continentalautosports.com/ferrari-information/how-many-cars-does-ferrari-make-a-year/) --
-- Lotus makes a FEW **HUNDRED** cars for sale worldwide. It is an extremely exclusive vehicle.
The quality and reliability is very good. This has been true for all the Lotus cars I've bought and driven since 1996. This is partly due to the Engineering consultancy business of Lotus. They make a quality product despite the low production numbers, because they are hired by other car manufacturers to add their engineering expertise to other brands.
So the "Positioning" of Lotus cars is:
1) Formula One constructor history
2) extreme exclusivity - low production numbers, in the hundreds for the entire world
3) extreme performance - both in handling (mid-engine) and power - at a value price
There are other sports cars that offer similar performance but they cost far more than the mid-engine Lotus.
Porsche offers zero exclusivity. The new mid-engine Corvette will be produced at a rate of 25,000 per year or more - zero exclusivity.
You're "just another Porsche" or "just another Corvette", a generic sports car everyone has seen and will not turn heads.
The most important and most experienced aspect of a Lotus sports car is the handling. The Lotus Engineering consultancy is hired for this type of work. For example:
**Lotus is best known for the sports and racing cars that wear its name, but it's also had its hand in a number of cars from other manufacturers. Automakers looking for engine, and especially chassis expertise routinely turn to Lotus**
**Nine Cars You Didn't Know Were Engineered by Lotus
Handling by Lotus!**
see: www.roadandtrack.com/car-culture/g6659/lotus-engineering-cars/
Here are some of the cars and manufacturers who hired Lotus Engineering for their products:
Chevrolet Corvette ZR-1
Isuzu Impulse
Dodge Spirit R/T
Hyundai Genesis
DeLorean DMC-12
Aston Martin V12 Vanquish
Lotus Engineering is a major part of why Lotus keeps building road cars, in very small numbers.
As an analogy, it is like a very famous Chef who sells a line of his food products through retail food outlets but 'stays in touch' with the business by continuing work as a Chef at his own restaurants. Wolfgang Puck for example, or Paul Prudhomme.
One thing to consider about the Toyota 3.5 liter V6. Toyota was in Formula One for a number of years with their own factory team, and they have a large presence in lots of forms of racing. Also, they sell that particular V6 engine as a standalone to other manufacturers and they use it in several models of Toyota cars, not just the Camry. The most important part of that is PARTS AVAILABILITY. You will never need to worry about reliability since it's a Toyota product and as the car ages, you'll never need to worry about parts availability.
With the performance adjustable by way of the engine's ECU computer, and the addition of the Edelbrock supercharger, Lotus put their version of the V6 in a very high state of tune. It runs the 0mpg->60mph in 3.8 seconds and does the 1/4 mile in 12.6 seconds. It accelerates very hard, like a motorcycle.
.
.
Nissan GTR also has lotus tuned suspension
The very first road car that Tesla sold - the 2-seater sportscar - was a Lotus Elise, retrofitted with battery pack and electric motor drive.
I would love to see one on the streets. I think many people don't know about Lotus cars? Sad.
6:30 the good thing abt being 5ft is that you can fit in any car!!!
Posted my M56s today for this reason. 6'3"
Really, really want one in British Racing Green... hopefully next year sigh.
Do you hear you look like Daveed Diggs a lot? I get Hamilton songs stuck in my head when I watch your videos! LOL
I love this car. It's got a toyota engine so it'll be reliable yet it still sounds great. It's unique and even being the size it is, taller people can fit.
12:59 - BELIEVE IT OR NOT, you may need to change those tires. You'd be astonished just how much an affect your tires have on the steering. I changed from Michelin to Continental Tires and experienced a world of difference in steering response that could be felt immediately.
Great car
This is Awesome

I feel like forest was doing Forza horizon live in the driving impressions thumbnail.
I lovvvveeeeee this carrrrrrrrrr
Great review! Love the driving part. This car really makes me want the new Exige Cup 430 which North America of course never got. As for the Evora GT its too heavy (forna Lotus) and too expensive for what it is. Its not Porsche levels of quality or luxury, yet have a price tag that competed with it. That said, in my fantasy word I will always take an Evora her a 911 or Cayman because character.
Evora GT isn't overpriced. The chassis construction and building process is very time consuming and expensive. It's chassis, handling, steering feedback, manual transmission, gear ratios and driving engagement are far superior to a Porsche.
@@zarbon700 Is it really better than a Porsche, though? Really? I've never driven one, so I'm sincerely asking. I drive a 991.2 GTS, and it's amazing, but I've always wanted to experience a Lotus.
Toyota should put that supercharger on the Camry or the Avalon.
Could yo review Alfa Romeo 4c ? Thanks
You should drive it over a speed bump to give viewers an idea of what it's like.
I love the car, however lam left with one nagging thought, if the the boxer GTS is a better car for travel, would it not be a better choice?. Could I be just as happy tooling around on local back roads, well that's it. I need both. The stuff dreams of

Seriously, this video has nothing wrong to dislike 😒
Why havent you ever reviewed a Civic Si?
Your reviews are second only to Doug Demuro. Keep it up. 👍
Doug Demuro does good reviews but I can only take him in small doses. He does review some AMAZING cars!
Looks like a jag key😎

4:10 - You can't tell at all, but that car is actually the same height as a C8 Corvette and 2 inches wider.
It’s hydraulic steering so it doesn’t need anymore feedback
I would pick this Evora over a 488!
Just because it's a Lotus
Very beautiful and nimble looking car.
But...
While Lotus use a Toyota engine to power this awesome car, Toyota buys a BMW to "create" the new Supra... Really 😑
Great video again Forrest 👍🏽

how tall are you?
when I have 375K Saudi Riyals, I'll buy this one but auto. (en.Sha'a.Allah)
I can see why people would rather just get the C8 Corvette over the Lotus. Both are great though.
As an all around car sure C8; as a communicative pure raw exotic- Elise every time for a diehard car enthusiast.
It’s basically an exotic faster Miata.
If you want something different get a lotus
Everybody and their momma is going to have a C8 in a few years
Awesome ride brv! But not worth £100000

the only thing I don't like is the key, the metal sticking up is kinda ugly
I love it! It looks awesome

A proper drivers car unlike most of the junk built in the USA.
I feel like you won't be able to get a gas only vehicle unless it is high end in the near future. Glad I bought a car with a V6, not this car BTW 😂 I do have the same engine though
