Purdy has the 26th ranked pass blocking line. Its actually WILD how many sacks Purdy avoids. His hand got hit on that int line let d linemen in Purdys face all game.
This may be the most important stat everyone misses. The Niners O-line sucks outside of Trent. The pick Purdy threw against the Lions was because his hand got hit.

I think this is what Kyle focused on when building the roster, he wants his run game scheme to work and always built the passing game off it. Purdy was leading all of these passing stats behind that line, I can't begin to imagine what he would do if he actually had a line that can give him some time
@@shect1 They're actually middle of the pack in run blocking. Deebo and CMC make a lot of yards happen. Plus Aiyuk, Jennings, and Kittle get into blocking like champs. They're not afraid to really get in there. Williams is really the only beast on the line in both aspects.

That Aiyuk play was defensive PI!!!!!!!! Flag got picked up because he caught it. Why does nobody realize this?
Looked like the defender had his head turned to the ball. The refs explained why they picked it up.
Because it wasn't DPI. It was OPI if anything as Aiyuk did give him the shoulder when the two came into contact. Was a good call by the refs to pick it up.

Regarding what you were talking about around 5 minutes - I'm sorry that you might not know football. Yes, Deebo can be a game-changer, and an important part of the offense, but totally different than literally not having a QB, and Niners fans would be "whining" about Deebo being injured. I'm not sure what Eagles fans cannot understand... 49ers literally did not have a QB in the Championship last year. They literally did not have a fair shot. If they had a QB and had still lost, they would have moved on, said "it is what it is". If I were an Eagles fan, I would not be excited and celebrating that I beat a team that didn't have a QB. I would be excited and looking forward to the Super Bowl, not dunking on a team that played without a QB. I would say "good, the Eagles did what they were supposed to do" and move on.
If the 49ers would have lost to Green Bay, deebo not playing would definitely be the running story. Like I said before, u need to blame the coach blocking scheme that got Purdy hurt not the eagles problem

@@itsshadbih I agree that there was concern that Deebo was out that game, but A) Multiple story lines in that situation - Does Purdy have difficulty playing in the rain, difficult to adjust on the fly when a game-changer is out in the middle of a game, as opposed to adjusting for injuries that occur all the time, etc., not just Deebo being out B) Not close to the same thing as literally not having a QB. Eagles fans might have been freaking out a little when Mariota stepped in for half a drive against the 49ers this year when Hurts when to get checked for a concussion... imagine having a 4th-stringer you signed off the street towards the end of the year go in, and then not having him be able to go either. There can be multiple things at once - you can blame the blocking, credit the Eagles D-line, which was nasty last year, but also know and acknowledge that they did not get a fair shot. Literally did not have a QB.
The biggest issue with Deebo getting hurt was it seemed like they spent 2 weeks heavily game planning around him but didn't really have any backups for if he got hurt Niners think won all their games Deebo missed last year against the packers it was just a shitty situation that the rain didn't help

You don't gameplan for every single player being injured mid-game, so yes, it was difficult to adjust when your gameplan includes an important part for someone and they get hurt. Additionally, Deebo is unique, difficult to have a "backup" for everything that he does. McCloud has stood in at times when Deebo has gotten hurt, but he does not do the rushing out the backfield/have the physicality, etc. that Deebo does. That being said, totally different situation than having no QBs, not really as much of an issue.
The funny part is everyone keeps saying that he overthrew. Brandon, if you look, that is why the referee threw the flag, he was going to call p. I but didn't because the defender was looking at the ball. The defender bumped Brandon and slowed him down . If he never bumped him that would have been right in his hands

I feel the group of people that unironically say the NFL is scripted haven't actually played a game of football, the game is hard and nearly impossible to script, however, I can agree with a game or two being rigged at times but those are normally obvious and relatively frequent with the Chiefs regular season games

That almost pick to aiyuk was actually interference. It was a perfect throw, and he cut off aiyuks route. The ref actually mispoke and said there was no penalty, but Kyle actually declined the call.

The aiyuk catch was a dpi and was 100% the right read
When he asked about BA catch when he said what is that I laughed and said now that is called the ladybug tug
It wasn't really a bad read on that Aiyuk pass. The ball was on target, while the pass was in the air, the corner impeded Aiyuk and conversely Aiyuk pushed the corner into the ball.
The thing about the huge pass that should have been intercepted, aiyuk had eyes on the ball and was slowed down by the DB right as the ball was getting there so then it looked like an overthrow. thats why the penalty was thrown because it was gonna be DPI but he was able to catch it anyways so they picked it up.

The defender impeded the route which drew the flag which was eventually picked up because the play resulted in more yards than the penalty would have...Qb's In the nfl are often instructed to take the one on ones...

If that Aiyuk pass was a pick, it would have been a pick. There was no DPI on the play. If there were DPI, the refs would have called DPI instead of saying no penalty after talking about it. Then the 49ers would have declined it but had it as a backstop in case review would have overturned the catch.
refs can pickup flags and in that scenario there was no reason to leave the flag out since it was a catch.@@snowhawk04

What you dont see in these highlights is that the Ayuk circus catch the ball was on target but you dont see the defender bumping Ayuk before the ball got there to slow him down and the yellow flag coming in. It was a PI, either way they would have got it.
CMC has never played in a Super Bowl. This will be his first. He only had one playoff game with Carolina. Their Super Bowl was a couple of seasons before he was drafted.

The Ravens were favored to win. They had beaten everyone they needed to beat up to that point. The were the healthier team and just came off of a dominant win over the Texans. This was supposed to be the year the Ravens finally got over the hump. Could debate for either one being the worse choke job but it's too close to say anyone was worse than the other definitively.
