Ok so you say defense is harder now.. fair enough although I disagree... but.. if you are correct this would mean as a result Offense is way easier since no hand checks and no zone D in the paint.. The hand checks and physical play of the past made it far harder on the shooter... there's no way players today would be hitting the high percentage they hit if their defender was allowed to have that hand on hip like in the past... just imagine taking a shot with someone's hand on the hip where they slightly nudge you an inch right as the ball is being released and see how your shot percentage plummets . Lebron went to the finals 9 times in the east, he went once (2020 bubble) when he was in the west. So if Lebron played in the tougher conference his whole career he definitely not have made the finals 10 times. Those years he lost in the finals in the east, had he had the same team in the west he would have lost in 2nd or 3rd rounds some years. His finals record would be better than 4-6 though, it would probably be like 4-3 or something.

Lebron is not MJ but he is very good and has the advantage of his physical size, he should continue improving and be the best of this era, but he will never be the best of all time. We could compare him to Kobe, and it would be difficult if Kobe had not died. That would be a great comparison of titans of this era, but comparing him to the best of all time (MJ) was not necessary.
