- Those of you with correct-wheel-drive (or 4WD/AWD!) may notice some odd puddles on the driveway at the rear of your vehicle, or some oily grunge in its undercarriage. That might be a differential leak. There's several kinds, and this video shows you how to figure out which is happening on your vehicle, and what to do about it.

So clear, so informative and, in such a short time! One of the best auto repair videos I have seen.
Great job.
This is an excellent video. Straight to the point and covers the problem and solution. Not a bunch of jibber jabber that just irritates you when you're trying to see what your problem is.
Thanks for the advice, Sometimes the school doesn't teach you this
Exactly. Happy to assist in anyway we can!
Clear and concise walk-through on how to self diagnose what is leaking. Not a detailed how to to change the seal, but it gives a good idea of what's involved quickly which I really appreciated. Thank you for posting!
Very well done, straight to the point with every topic, my hats off to you guys at 1A Auto. GREAT JOB 👏
Few things are sweeter than a to the point youtube video, where you can make out what they're pointing at and saying. *loud rock music plays as shaky camera with poor lighting gyrates around a finger after a five minute vlog intro* i always look out for 1a auto videos relating to my vehicles, keep'em coming.

Awesome video, thank you so much. I got a question about a noise coming from my 2wd 05 Tahoe. I hear a clicking noise when driving below 35 mph straight ahead and letting go off the gas. What do you think could be the issue and how would I pinpoint where the noise is coming from? Thanks
I watched the video.
I think it’s 👍 great.
I believe it will help.
Next thing I know
I subscribed
Thank you sir.. i will do it to my 2017 ram laramie 1500
Do you have a specific and mire detailed video for each of these leaks?
Thank you
Nice bro thank you
Thanks buddy
I have a very frustrating transmission leak on the drivers side and I believe that it may be one of the leaks you were describing in this video. It gave me some leads and so I am going to get the car lifted and take a closer look. I could use a wing man😞😏🙏

Ok, my question is about the yoke. I know about the pinion seal and I changed mine out but it is still leaking there at the pinion seal. Is there also a seal on the yoke?
Your videos are so clear and well done... Thank You!

So helpful, thank you! And "bonk bonk bonk" lol!
I laughed at the same part Lol
The top of my rear differential is leaking . And I also lost a lot of brake fluid. Is that the brake line? 2001 Chevy suburban. Thanks.
Had the pinion seal replaced and still leaking what do you think is the problem
Can you do this with the truck on the ground? Not lifted
What about oil leaking from under the rear on a 2018 ford fusion. Just above the muffler.
do they make stop leak for these? trans leak fix isnt the same right?
I like the video
I just noticed that my AWD isn't working right now.. Maybe this is the cause? Leaky diff rear?
I have a leak coming from my rear diff, 2010 Outback, I looked under and seen it was coming from above the diff, is that the air vent mentioned in the video? Looks like a pipe/hose joining something, and that appears to be where it's coming from. Great video!
+Bob Thanks for checking us out!
Good stuff
+Nature's Toolchest Labs Thanks for checking us out! 1aau.to/m/Shop-1AAuto-c
What if I have a leak AND I hear excessive rattling and ka-chunking in the rear when I take my foot off the gas?
👍
I'm sad now. My Axle leaks around the leaf spring shackles.
Awesome
+Henry D Ginn Thanks for checking us out! 1AAuto.com
What if your vent tube is burping oil after drive
if only it was as easy as that!!
What if the drive shaft is leaking a clear oil in the center of the vehicle, where the drive shaft from the front connects to the one to the rear
+Frankie C We wouldn't be able to diagnose an issue like that here, you may want to have a local mechanic take a look at it. Thanks for checking us out! 1aau.to/m/Shop-1AAuto-c
Great info. Can I ask you a question about something completely different. I have a 2001 Ford explorer, that has what I have come to find out what is caused death wobble. I have thrown 600.00 at the front end and they ,, the mechanic said he fixed it, but NOPE still doing it. Everytime I have come to your channel I have ALWAYS followed your info, and the problems have been fixed. Could you PLEASE, help me with this. When I'm going 40 to 65 it will be driving fine, and if you hit just the right bump ,, I guess ,, it starts into a wobble that scares me to death, thought I was going to die. There's a hole in my seat where my butt took a bite out of it. It will start wobbling violently, and the steering wheel will almost shake out of my hand, soon as you slow down to about 25 or 30 mph it stops. The mechanic says he has done the whole front end, tie rods, ball joints, idler arm, stabilizer. Dear God please help me. As I take care of my ex wife who is a 2 x stroke victim, and I have to have something safe to get her around. I am disabled so I live off a small ssdi check and can't afford to just keep throwing money at parts, and can't afford to buy another vehicle, again please help me out. God bless you for all your help.
Did you get your wheels checked to see if they are balanced properly? If the wabbles go away after a certain speed it is probably a bearing somewhere in the drivetrain.
Good luck, I hope you can get it fixed.
If there is a shock running cross ways in front end, it is a steering damper. Older vehicles had them. When they went bad you hit a bump and steering wheel would go back and forth violently. Scary ride for sure.
I'm better off Changing all the seals to prevent extra cost and labor
This is good video but I think it's too short we always have to pause the video and play again to watch will more details , my suggestion is don't cut the part of video or make in fast speed , maybe for you it's not important part of video or it's not necessary but really it's necessary the viewer get bored . It's more helpful to watch all the with video with out skip part of with video or with fast speed .
+MCMPR Thanks for the feedback!
Damn…he made an entire weekend job shortened to a few minute video
My exhaust definitely isn’t in the way.
whoever disliked doesn’t know how to work on cars and they’re pissed about it😂
Very informative but slow down a little bit for a woman who want trying to about Car.
+Suvean Krakowski Thanks for the tip! We'll pass this info along to our production team.
