- We have had a Red Raleigh Chopper on our channel before but had a lot of requests to show a Chopper in Fizzy Yellow, so here it is! There are also the Mk1, Mk3 and the recently released Mk4 to do in future if we get chance, there are also some other models we could do too.

OMG That takes me back. Watching you put all this back together. I started remembering all the parts we tried to fix as kids. Not having a clue about bike but wasn't afraid to try. I/ we could never fix them gears lol. Great work and thanks for the nostalgia.

Hi Joe hope you are OK, great build lovely bike that signal yellow is a great match!! Am just starting a ultra violet and will need to spray the forks, any idea what colour is a close match to it, cheers 🥂 Paul

Has any done a restomod on a Chopper? To give it a real contemporary make over?
The mk 3 was an half baked attempt.

@@JoesBikesUK Yeah! It would be worth it...& Probably a first too. I'm of the opinion the Chopper could be updated. Raleigh has done the nostalgia thing twice now with the MK3 and MK4. A contemporary interpretation would be to have satin black metal work & Little to no chrome/bright parts. Modern bike parts & fixings and also disc brakes...keep the 70's styling but make it look more a 2024 bike. ( Electric! well that's optional) They do it to classic cars all the time. Take a classic and make drive like a modern car
Why didn’t you use 2k paints instead of halfords rattle cans lot stronger and tougher in 2k paint chip’s easier with rattle cans should have 2k clear coated it stop the chips and scratches all my frames are in 2k with top coat
You are right rattle cans are not as strong as the 2k paint. We want to show all sorts of different ways to build bikes in our videos and we include 2k style paint methods, the Giant ATX we did for instance and we have one coming soon. We have also shown powder coat on a Mountain Cycle Rumble we did, that was one of my favorite bikes. Some of the bikes we build are shown without a top coat because we need to produce the video quickly and are built for a customer who gives us a free reign over the project. The customers don't always see the bike before it's finished so if we don't put a top coat on, they can change what we have done and choose to have a top coat or leave it. We also produce a frame protection film which can be applied, but we do advise a top coat and the bike being left for a few weeks for the paint to cure before fitting this. Hi Joe, lovely job. Am lucky enough to have been given a bike which was left in a dry garage in good nick. It’s done well with a simple service and overhaul. Are you able to tell me where you can.
