We post weekly dream build bike videos here on our channel. We feature all sorts of bikes that we are building for customers and once in a while we'll do a special feature bike or restoration. Have you ever wanted to upgrade your bike?
We do this regularly for our customers and here is an example of a very standard Marin Riftzone 1 where we've turned the dial up to 11!
We took a box fresh Marin Riftzone 1 and removed every single part from it and put on arguably the best components MTB money can buy to create a stunning Riftzone to outshine most other bikes on the trail.
As standard these are a very capable bike, but with these additions we have made this bike rock, it will rip the trails like no other. Marin create bikes in the right specification to be able to do this, you don't have to do this straight from the box, you can ride the bike as it comes and do small modifications along the way, this bike does show what is possible for sure and Marin create a good starting point with excellent frames.
Good geometry and awesome colour combinations make for a great canvas to create your dream bike build, Marin have been doing this for a long time so know what riders want, Made For Fun.
We have dedicated this video to the memory of Lux.
She was a beautiful Dog and a fantastic example of a Doberman. She was my friend Tom's best friend, she went with him everywhere, and was a brilliant trail dog, she always knew where you were going and was always at the front, amazing. We are all going to miss Lux and all our best wishes go out to Tom and his family, she will be missed.

Really cool video and build up! It seams, in Germany, those high end bikes were a bit rare at those times. So, almonst none of such bikes are available in our country, for now😬👎. Especially, if it survived the years in a good condition. 1992 when I was 12, I saw a mountain cycle San Andreas, but I'm pretty sure it had a up side down fork, and the disc mount was a bit " weirdo" 😂 What fork do you use for your up grade?

For a short moment, I was questioning myself, if there is a " logical" reason, for a bike mechanic or even shop owner, to have as many monitors and multimedia equipment???? But, after a few seconds you were walking out of the print design shop, and everything was " reasonable", for me😉🤣👍‼️

Super clean and intriguing color coordination. Also very "dry" - at least on camera...i'd be greasing or "anti-seizing" every thread and surface on that and every build. 😅
Great point! I will show more grease and lube in future content. To be honest it's a thing that sometimes gets omitted by our editor but we do grease parts when required. I hope you liked the bike and thanks for the comment, it will keep us on track, cheers Joe.

I can't believe in the mid late 70s, early 80s, we started to rip what we called sissy seats off these bikes. Now they're collectors pieces.

They are fine either way, the clearance is still ok and they work fine, glad you noticed though. Cheers. Joe.
I know they work fine but there supposed to be in the rear and so is the slot on the threads on the steerer tube. Look at any vintage manitou 2 advertisement
Thanks for pointing that out, as you can see in the video that's how the fork came to me but I will change it around soon. We are in the process of doing bearings replacement however having problem to remove the bottom ones where React System is attached to. How do you remove the react system from there for we can get access to the bearings pls ?

@@JoesBikesUK ive got a mk2 avanti (didnt have the bb u brake) frame set n group set, has been in the garage about 40 years, safe to say, its gone a tad rusty. wheels cant be saved, how ever, the 531 frame is good, couple of rust spots, though id restore as a mav 18 pro, as i got a minty ozark n half ridy mirage. none of the main guys, do the 18 pro graphics. pay obvioiusly :)

Hi Ben, yes the tube was about ten inches round and about thirty inches tall with ZZYZX graphics on it. I had one and wish I still had it. They did look super cool in the day but wish they worked as well as they looked ;-)

What travel is the fox 34?
