    This technique is known as "ping pong" or "mixdown" and dates back to like the 1940-1950's...

      Thanks for teaching me this, I looked into it and found out the Beach Boys used that technique when making Pet Sounds in 1966.

    So how do you hook the back of the machine input if you were using some other synth and NOT a sample, do you still wire it up to be "stereo", or what? Id like to use more samples in my mixes, but I'm specifically trying to figure out all the uses of the modular 'machine input' module feature

    • @brockhardentertainment
      @brockhardentertainment  Před 2 lety

      Either Stereo or mono, both work but it depends on if you want the signal on stereo or mono.

  • @richardhappybricks7821

    How is your Machine Input in Stereo? mine are just mono, Even when the sample is in Stereo.

    This concept isn't new to the majority because they use loops anyhow, they're always loading in loops.. I use to do this to save in ram and get faster sound design result's.
    Back to the video, majority don't need unlimited FX if the loop they bring in has FX already applied in the sample loops.
    Great video for those who are creator's..

      Yep, unfortunately loops are taking over. People snatch premade loops and samples, glue them together and all of a sudden they call themselves producers. It ok I guess in a way but it really doesnt teach them anything. I use samples on occasion but I feel better when I can do it all myself and not rely on anything but my skills to create. There is a real division in producing these days. Some feel it's ok to just use nothing but loops and there are others that are against it. I used nothing but loops starting out in Garage Band and it held me back for about a year, then I got Ableton and just excelled from there. This tutorial was for sound designers out there, the o g's of Caustic. Glad you liked it!

      @@brockhardentertainment That's why I'm using Garage band to make my own loops, I make beats in Caustic using only beatbox.

      @@Dizzy_the_kid I started out with Garage band back in 2005! It's an awsome DAW.

      @@brockhardentertainment Yeah, I started to using this year, it's a lot of fun. I'm learning a lot, this made me start to learn Musical Theory, I'm from sample based HipHop.
      I can see that I'm having less troubles with chords and melodies since I started to use Garageband.
      I really love to watch covers made on Garageband in CZcams.
      Garageband to me is the Goat. So much intuitive.

      As a Caustic user I recommend you to use another app for the vocals, Caustic3 don't use audio track.
      It's gonna be a mess.
