Downton Abbey Returns With Third Film Confirmed | This Morning

- It was announced that Downton Abbey will return for a third film, which is already in production. In a much-awaited sequel, beloved cast members such as Hugh Bonneville, Michelle Dockery, Laura Carmichael and Jim Carter will return to Highclere Castle. The real lady of Downton Abbey, Lady Carnarvon joins us from Highclere with all the behind-the-scenes gossip. Plus, historian Kate Williams is here to speculate on what the Crawley family might be up to as they head into the 1930’s.

A wish another tv season came out 😢 I miss the drama building up over the entire season
They could air the original once a week as when it was new, and I think people would STILL tune in. Because as much as you may have watched it first time ‘round, there are always some moments you’ll rediscover anew you didn’t expect. And it could even pick up a younger generation of admirers. I loved going all week anticipating 😂 story’s continuation on the following episode.
It is just not possible to get all the actors together again for a whole season I guess.
I can’t wait for it to come out! Big Downton fan!
Been hoping for this!! Yay! Going to miss the comebacks of Maggie Smith’s but glad to see they’re going forward with another one.
I'm thinking Mary will have flashbacks of conversations with her grandmama.

Happy to hear they are finally filming a 3rd Downton movie. Loved this series and saw the first two movies too. I know Julian Fellows is a stickler for authenticity so if he plans to use a vehicle with white wall tires on it, he'd better make sure the the white wall is a wide white wall tire. There were no narrow white wall ties on cars back in those days.

We all love Downton Abbey!! It will be hard to imagine, however, without Maggie Smith’s Violet and those great one-liners she was so capable of delivering!!
Actually it was rather the "sad end of the dowager"...not of Dame Maggie Smith...luckily !
Was at Highclere Castle last May, inside and out. It was thrilling to walk the halls and rooms of what we all know as”Downton Abbey”.
Good news! Americans love this series and can't wait for another film to appear.

Delighted to hear this; a return of excellent entertainment for a change.
I can't wait to visit Highclere Castle on September 3rd! I found what looks like a wonderful small all day trip from London that includes some of the Cotswolds and filming locations. I love the series much more than the films, but I'm glad they are filming and I'm sure it will still be an excellent film.

NO, please don't let that happen. Downton has got to survive just like Highclere did. I am hoping more movies are made there and that keep it going into the red in spite of the crash. I would rather it be post 1929 into 1930 and the uncle has lost everything, and they have taken him in.
hehe...maybe you should write a script and send it to Julian...so he might consider to go on...and on...with the storys...

of course I love Downton, its my fav show. I just can't imagine how they're gonna go on after they tied it up so nicely last time.
Not sure what's going on with the blurry photos of outside... at first I thought they were blurring scenes that are secret, but it really just seems like landscape. But very excited for a new movie!

As Meryl Streep once said, sequels aren't often as good as the original. I hope movie number three is better than "A New Era".
at this point, it’s obviously fan service. but it’s fine. it does what is supposed to do, no one is expecting a visual masterpiece.

More interesting than The Capital by Karl Marx and yet about the fight between the rich and the poor classes .
They need to give it a rest, without Maggie Smith it won't be good...

@@muncangel5993The original video title said Downton “returns after 9 years”. They later changed it along with a misspelling of the title as “Downtown”.
As the actress who played Tom Bransons wife Lucy is not going to be in it nor Matthew Goode who played Lady Mary's Husband Henry Talbot is not in it are they going to have two funerals in the film. Its gone too far down the line give it up
