- BMW called this the first real 3 Series. In the days this 323i E21 3-series was the top model. It has a 2.3 litre straight-six engine which produces 143 hp.

In 1983 I bought a 323i e21 Alpina from Wales drove it home to London and everyone in my street thought I had won the lottery! What a beautiful machine.... wish I still had her.

I got run over by an E21 back in 1984, I flew up in the air spinning like a rag doll and landed on my feet.
An experience I have never forgotten
And the rarest E21 323i of all is the Australian-market only John Player Special (JPS) version which has BBS-Mahle alloy wheels and a full Recaro interior, only 70 were built in the iconic black and gold livery to recognise the JPS Team BMW cars competing in the Australian Touring Car Championship in the early eighties. I have number 47.
Er waren ook 4 cilinders met dubbele koplampen namelijk de 320 en 320i 4 cilinders. De 6 cilinders waren er als 320 met carburateur en 323i met injectie.
I just bought one and this is a great car and a huge value compared to prices for the 2002
I remember driving a friends 323i in 1983. The steering was perfect and the engine pulled very strong and made a fantastic sound.
I remember how much i wanted this car in the 80s.. I was 13 y/o then..and still wanting it if i could find one

I much preferred the sound of older BMWs I owned especially my 1980 528iA with its “big” M30 six. My current 2020 M340i has far too many “cracks and pops” theatrics; I preferred the creamy and velvety sound of the old “small” M20 and “big” M30 engines!
The orange testcar at around 0:46 has the tailpipe near the licence plate. That’s how you recognize the early production models as well!
I had this car in the late 90s and early 2000s in nigeria it was a dream. I'm still going to get one again as soon as I can

This is a BMW car 🚘 made in Germany 🇩🇪 dated back to these years are from 1975 to 1983. They are very good 👍 cars 🚙 on the roads. I haven’t seen any of these BMW cars 🚙 like 👍 these for years. These type of cars 🚙 are always a 2 door 🚪 sedan 🚘 and convertible cars 🚗. They go fast 💨 on the roads. Dated back in 1990, my father 👴 had a BMW 323i (E21). Classic cars 🚗 in the world 🌍. Thumbs up 👍 to these BMW cars 🚘. Perhaps 🤔 my father 👨 had an old Y registration made in 1982 or 1983. Super cars 🚘 and nothing wrong 😑 with them. Hopeful, trustworthy, reliable, honest, good 👍, beautiful 😍 cars 🚗 on planet 🌍 earth 🌍. 👍👍👍👍
Ik ben sinds 1974 verslaafd aan de 6 cilinders van BMW heerlijk geluid en een mooi koppel over een breed toerenbereik. Heb er nu eentje van 21 jaar en die loopt nog als nieuw. Ik hoop er nog lang plezier van te hebben.

I have had this car (2nd batch, 1981) for 20 years. Loved it. Only the steering ratio is a bit too big and the steering itself not as stiff as the E30. The driving position is also a tad tall. But I am comparing probably with the best standard in history until today.
BTW the wheels of the car shown here are, I believe, not original. It might be the first series (mine is the second)

I love the look of the E21 over the E30. E30 never really did it for me on looks, m3 model was a bit better I guess.
Even the mechanics in my local BMW shop mistaken my E21 for an E30. lol

Wel een foutje! 320i was geen 6 cilinder! Je had de 320 carbu zowel 4 als 6 cilinder en de 320i was 4 cilinder!

Heb nog een 320 gehad zonder i. Meen uit 1978 groen metallic en alu spaakvelgen.
Die sound daar kan geen symphonieorkest tegenop.
Werkt wel verslavend BMW want rijd dat merk nog steeds.
Sterker nog heb pas een nieuwe besteld.

Wat een waardeloze review van zo'n mooie auto!
Voorloper van de 323i e30 en die weer van de 325i e30 en ga zo maar door. Jankende 6 cil en de bekende uitlaat puf gaf mij destijds kippevel
Puur uit interesse had ik de prijs wel willen weten.
Mooie auto, al hangt de uitlaat links wel wat scheef.

Nee sowieso geen 235 dat loopt een normale E30 M3 nog niet eens en een e21 alpina ook niet, top is 190 km/h op papier
Klein foutje in de video: Er was ook nog een tijdje een viercylinder 320, ook met dubbele koplampen (en vierbak). Die reed ook lekker hoor! Toch, ik vond het een beetje een te Duitse auto. Erg goed, maar erg saai in het dagelijkse verkeer. Niets voor mij, dus.
Great car FOR THE SUMMER lol you will need nappies to drive one in the wet at night with all the massive 4x4 losers trying to smack into you while talking on their "dumbphones", even the E30 is a bit too much for wet weather all year driving with the way idiots in modern cars drive now. I would buy one but 10k is a lot of money for a car I would rarely be able to use in England :o) so it would become a bit of a trophy in my garage space.

Instead of letting the legendary straight six play you spoiled this video with annoying basic piano music.
Het scheurijzer van weleer. En al helemaal fraai werd het als er sportuitlaten eronder geplaatst werden. Dat was pas een upgrade. Maar toch verkies ik de M50 motor boven deze M20. Met recht een klassieker van de bovenste plank.

Ben ik de enige die zenuwachtig werdt toen ie de alarmlicht schakelaar indrukte? bij de helft van die bmws zit er een tandenstoker tussen omdat die knop ontzettend zwak is.
