Xbox Vs America

- Xbox, well, specifically, Microsoft, has been going up against the FTC for a while now.
And finally, we’ve got a trial.
Some things were said, and I’m gonna talk about some of those things.
Not all of them.
But a few.
Sony and PlayStation seem kinda angry, but not that angry.
Real exciting stuff.

And he still gets everything wrong 😏
Fr
SirSwag makes some nice news series
Lmfao hes declaring Xbox is fighting against America 😂. He's such a fake journalist that I honestly see this as a complete joke.
Playstation has no case at this point. Jim Ryan debunked the entire case the FTC built for them and the judge drilled the FTC for deliberately siding with playstation over the American consumer. It's the FTC versus the American consumer.
Don't be dumb, actually look at the reports coming in from real journalists.
I thought he was a public intellectual and philosopher

Microsoft buying back Bungie from Activision then trying to buy Activision would have been hilarious.
Activision was the publisher for Destiny they never owned Bungie.
@@Legion849Yes but if Bungie had stayed with Activision, Bungie would yet again be working under Microsoft. And we now know that Microsoft did want to purchase Bungie

the worst part is that is really is what happenned
@@superninja252imagine being so stupid that you managed to win. That is what Sony has been since they moved their headquarters to California.
I don't understand how people think things can simply never stop growing... that mentality will only lead to ruin.
it's the same mindset as pyramid schemes, keep finding customers and the thing would never fail
Yup thats why the stock market is the worst invention ever made
Nothing wrong with the stock market but there is a problem with only using growth investment.
Ponzy scheme mentality, yes.
the thing is that it is how public trade companies are made, all public companies HAVE to eventually fall which is why we have recession in periods.
This is my first video from you and I must say, you broke this issue down in a way that both hardcore gamers and casual viewers understand perfectly. Very entertaining and thorough, hats off Whimsu!

Top tier stuff- that intro was beautiful!
Hey man just wanna say love what you are putting out bro.
Cloud gaming has worked fine for me though it'll take awhile for it to gain traction if it ever does
I'm glad you said that Cloud Gaming won't take off.
I've been saying this for ages, but people treat Cloud Gaming taking off as an objective fact.
Cloud Gaming just doesn't work well on mobile as there are far too many irl factors which will never make it good.
How on earth they expect players on mobile to play console games, it is already hard to play simple mobile games using a touchscreen and a small screen space, let alone the controls that use 10 buttons and 2 finger directions
Cloud gaming was ALWAYS just supposed to be an additional way to play for Microsoft. Never to replace console gaming.
Their xcloud server are literally built out of Xboxss and all the games are built for Xboxes. They literally can‘t just remove the consoles out of the equation.
It works fine, have you tried it recently?
@@baraodascolinas979 There are controllers designed a fit a phone inside of them exist, connecting directly to the phone via USBC
@@baraodascolinas979 Yeah, like try playing a Gamecube game on your phone.
It's near impossible with touchscreen.

I’m gonna miss this channel. Some of the best damn videos on the youtubes.
Another factor is the games themselves. This doesn't matter for digital, but for those of us who want an undeletable license for a game, disc content matters. Microsoft's "Smart Delivery" is a neat concept for bridging generations of consoles, but you only get the base XBOX One VCR or Series S versions of the games without HD textures and all the other good stuff that would be on a PS5 disc that's playable in 1.0 form without the need to download anything.
Yes because I want to buy 3 different versions of the last of us with small upgrades each time 🙄
Get that game scratched up then you are out of luck until you can buy another one. Gamers aren’t known for taking care of of discs.
@@teamofone1219 The ones I know are not children or a raging drunks, so we don't scratch up our discs. Also modern blurays are pretty scratch resistant and many scratches can be buffed out to play perfectly.
If whatever platform you "purchased" a digital game on decides to cancel the game all together, your money is lost too, bro. There was so much noise from Nintendo e-shop closing for 3DS and WiiU and PS Store closing for Vita and PS3 not too long ago. You can't get those games anymore without a real copy or piracy.
Think of all the licensing issues that could come along over time with music, artwork, the IPs themselves, and it the downloads gets lost in red tape, but the discs will still be there. I don't trust any digital service to maintain their libraries.
@teamofone1219 Says you, I keep my games, and my thi gs in general, in good condition. I've still got games from the 80s in near perfect condition

Loved it, your analysis is really good.
When my PS4 utterly bricked out of the blue and I realized it was a sealed box with no access for repairs, I went to PC and never looked back.
*EDIT: I completely mixed up in my head my personal experience with Remote Play for Cloud Gaming. Xbox did an okay job with the cloud, the lag wasn’t as bad as say Stadia, perfectly playable, however Remote Play was atrocious unless I was on the same WiFi.*
The issue with “cloud gaming” is the input lag. It’s interesting that I heard someone say that it over a decade ago and it seems to be more true than ever. I can hardly deal with the lag between action on screen and the sound having to be routed through my tv before it hits my stereo(since they removed the digital audio output), I cannot endure the input lag from cloud gaming more than about 30 minutes.
This gen of consoles is completely stagnant because the state of gaming is nearly impossible to see from a cynical angle. It’s growing more and more common that the most hyped up titles have incredibly lackluster launched, microtransactions have felt like a symptom of poor game design rather than an enhancement of the gameplay loop, the absolute focus on terrible “7 paragraphs to explain why you must go right instead of left” writing and the endless desire to remaster everything under the sun.
The Dead Space Remake is an example of the remaster/remake craze, but it at least revitalized the world rather than put a coat of paint on it. Too bad it also falls victim to making things that would have been unlockables in Xbox and early Xbox 360 games into microtransaction trash. I was preyed heavily upon by CoD Cold War. I’m not sure I’ll buy another CoD after seeing the bill I wrecklessly racked up to only see I could have unlocked everything over a few months just collecting free bundles after it’s cycle ended.
not saying activision isnt scummy but they did pretty much the same thing with mw19, so maybe you should have looked in to that before spending on mtx its never worth it.
The first time I tried cloud gaming I didn't think it was that bad. However that was on a TV yet the second time I tried it hooked up to an actual decent gaming monitor the lag was atrocious. I guess I didn't notice it the first time since I was playing with a wireless controller on a mid TV but with wired controllers and a good monitor you can easily feel the lag. Also maybe the game made a difference too.
And you have nobody but yourself to blame for buying all those MTX. I played MW19 and all I bought was the battle pass once.
Agreed. Cloud gaming, regardless of connection or proximity to server, is intolerable. Hell, I can't even tolerate VSync.
Nvidia GeForce Now is pretty neat tho
Its as true as it was during the onlive years and g-cluster before that. The infrastructure needed to have a seamless experience just isn't here yet and it wont be coming if ISPs have their way.
Whole intro was pretty sick. Dig it
I love this new format!
I like how I've watched all the streams, yet this video just now got to me.
Line Rider? I remember that. Also Funky Truck and Ball Revamped. Those were the days. We need Ball Revamped on mobile. I feel so old right now
Line Rider, what a throwback
The last new console I've ever bought was a PS2 in 2007. It lasted me a while, but It was killed of by a lighting strike. Ever since, I've been playing on my PC. I briefly owned a used PS2 (again) because of nostalgia in 2019, but I resold it shorly aftewards.
that redacting with the sharpie 😂😂😂
I gotta say,
Sick intro.
The Xbox numbering convention is so confusing from an outsider perspective. There’s no consistency, series S, series X, alongside One, and 360. What are all these numbers and letters??
Sony is simple, just consecutive numbers. Nintendo is creative, with a brand new name and theme tied in with a gimmick (excusing wiiU). Microsoft sucks at naming consoles
Wait till you see how Sony name their products other than PlayStation
@@skies1586yeah Sony’s naming conventions are really dumb.
Sony phones, tv's, computers, and cameras are just as confusing to be fair, lol
@@kyledcunningham at least it's names and not random letters 🙂
Microsoft sucks at naming everything. I mean, the Windows versions are JUST NOW getting sequential numbers after decades.
Have you tried using data recovery software to recover your old assets? Deleted files are only truly deleted when you overwrite them with new files.
Whimsu has achieved thumbnail perfection.
The Xbox 360 was my favorite gaming console between 2007 and 2013. But then the Xbox One came out, and... "Well, we have a console for you if you want to play offline; it's called the 360." I legitimately can't understand why ANYONE would own an Xbox nowadays. Hell, I quit console gaming in 2015. "PC Master Race" really is the best gaming experience, I'm sad to admit.
2:11 They were going to buy Team Cherry? God dam.

I love this format
I travel for a living and I love playing games on the cloud. I also play cod mobile with my series s controller. And fortnite mobile. Hate people don't like playing mobile when they aren't home. Brings me back to the psp days. I emulate a lot of psp games on my phone too
Wild video, thanks a lot, had no idea
Personally i have been unbiased in the "console wars."
I have owned a NES, a Sega Genesis, a Gameboy, a PlayStation, a Gameboy Color, a Dreamcast, a PS2, a Wii, an Xbox360 and a PlayStation 4. While I didn't "own" a PS3 my friend lent me one. So I have probably owned more Sony Consoles than anything else but I give them all equal attention.
What made me not want to own another Xbox was just how many technical problems I had with numerous Xbox 360s, which I went through three of them. My last one didn't red ring of death, rather it overheated so it wasn't covered by Warranty to be able to send it back. That just killed the Xbox brand for me personally.
Maybe overheating is why they made the Series X/S a fucking cheese grater.
Now that I have money and can buy multiple consoles, I do own them all, but I primarily play PlayStation. They tend to make better exclusive games, everyone is already on there, I don’t want multiple subscriptions, I like having my trophies show what games I’ve played and how much I enjoyed them, and most importantly, games require so much more time now. I haven’t touched my Xbox in months, waiting to play Sunset Overdrive (because it’s the one Insomniac game I haven’t played), but there’s too much available that I can never get around to it. I got FFXVI at launch and I’m only 16 hours in, sometimes my friends want to play a multiplayer game or a co-op game. Then there’s the PS Plus games that I have to play now because I don’t know when they’ll leave the service. The backlog is too big, and I don’t play enough to even make a dent. And it’s not just the games but TV, movies, books, and hobbies that aren’t as lazy. Now, part of this is obviously that as an adult, I have less time for leisure. But multiplayer games that have battle passes and seasons and the one week event. It’s carefully made for player retention, and I just want to chill with some friends, but every multiplayer game is like that now. And if it’s not, it’s because you need to buy it, and I need to convince other people to buy it to play together.
@@Diphenhydra Spot on. I feel similarly. I bought a used PS4 just for Spider-Man alone and then ended up really liking God of War, The Last of us, Horizon Zero Dawn, Uncharted 4 and more and when I think about the Xbox the only game series I actually care about is Forza.
I have a gaming PC now so luckily I can play all the Xbox exclusives and now Sony seems to be releasing their games on PC which is cool even though there is a wait.
I missed a large chunk of gaming from 2012 to 2018 since my 360 broke and my PC wasn't powerful enough so I have all these games I have always wanted to play over the years, add on to that all the free games I have gotten from the likes of Epic Game Store and AyYym4z0n PryYyme (CZcams deletes your comments if you mention it) and my backlog is huge. I just don't have enough time to game and ever since I got lyme disease I feel my concentration has weakened making it harder to focus. It's hard to even choose a game.
What I actually play the most is Call of Duty, lol. My real friends play it and ever since I moved to an area where I don't know anybody (Quarantine didn't help) it's essentially my only way to 'hang out' and shoot the shit. I really only play it like once or twice a week and that game has an absurd amount of FOMO with tons of limited timed events and unlockables.
I actually just purchased Battlebit and it's actually a lot of fun despite the graphics. Three guys made a game that's more fun than Battlefield 2042.
This production is fantastic
I like this format, you sped it up a lil bit didn't ya 😅
The whole time investment thing is pretty obvious. Reason why on the PC, Steam will never be replaced by Epic. Not just the libraries some people ahve built up over decades, but virtual items like CSGO skins worth thousands of dollars.
IMHO, Annapurna or Paradox would be the coolest acquisitions for me
Please, I need the sequel to the Scooby Doo video.
What’s the song at 0:52? I gave your soundcloud a gander and couldn’t find it
That pointlesshub cameo was a nice surprise

From soft would’ve been BOMB if bought. Throw them souls on GP boyyyyy
That mouse cursor onscreen for a lot of the video was physically painful

the theme song went hard bro
The absolute rage that would have come from Japan is Microsoft bought Square Enix is unimaginable.
I feel like I've watched you disintegrate into chaos for so many years, and now you've begin to reintegrate into coherence and purpose. What a journey it's been. You're a cat now, but we all change with the passage of time.
Keep this going, I want more content
I think one of the biggest problems with modern corporations is that they take their long time customers for granted. They spend way too many resources chasing new customers and expecting constant growth while seeming to forget about those who made them successful in the first place. Then it eventually comes back to bite them because the formerly loyal customers grow too weary of being ignored for years despite trying to stay invested in their favorite brands, so they give up and it’s difficult to get them back after apathy fully sets in.
I like this format
As a Sonic fan, the though of Microsoft acquiring Sega scares the shit out of me. A large company going after every single Sonic fan game and other fan works would mean the absolute death of the Sonic Community.
I don't like how Sammy handles Sega, but I'd rather leave things like they are now. At least it seems they are putting more effort to revitalize their brands beyond just Yakuza and Persona, as their games' division is starting to outgrow their pachinko business.
Please keep making these
I thought Microsoft offered PlayStation like 7 more years of COD? Maybe I’m wrong but that’s definitely what I heard
The agreement was 10 years if memory serves correctly.
I don't get why Sony was mad, the best selling games on there were always third party outside of the OG PlayStation.
PS: Gran Turismo
PS2: GTA San Andreas
PS3: GTA V
PS4 GTA V
PSP: Liberty City Stories
PS Vita: Minecraft
They'll be fine with or without Call of Duty.
I threw up out of the window of my dad's car while watching this video, good stuff keep it up

*Knowledgehollowhusk actually.
But then we gave Nintendo who brought a new console with no carry over and it is selling incredibly well.
It is interesting because I think Microsoft might be looking at this and thinking we should definitely stay cross platform with CoD because but only will it help keep regulators off our backs BUT it makes a ton of money and we can focus on mobile users, get them into game pass through the mobile route.

I could see cloud gaming be popular on other systems (buy a Switch and run an Xbox). I honestly thought that was the direction things were going a while back
I'm surprised Sony is worth that much less than Microsoft? Like it makes sense, but wasn't it originally a Japanese megacorp?
