Finally trying some more heavily edited content, although i've still got a ton to learn about editing. My next video will probably be a lot more laid-back, and more of a freeflowing thoughts/feelings on the current state of Zephyr, since she got nerfed super hard recently.

I respectfully disagree with amber shards being F-tier - they're a hands-off energy generation boost that doesn't take up a mod slot, a helminth ability, your focus school, or an arcane slot, and they synergise well with any and every orb-generation method of energy management.

There's also no consideration for stacking some of these low-effort, low cost items much like the equilibrium + synth mod in S+
Energy nexus + primary exhilarate (on a primary with guaranteed impact procs) is a consistent 6.6 energy/s that requires no kills and works even on low enemy density situations. It's insanely comfortable, always giving you a steady energy rate in those builds where you wanna run a companion focused on giving crit damage + fire rate buffs instead of health orbs. Stack an extra energy gen option like energize on top if you need some extra buffer, and it's even lazier.

    - would personally put Arcane Energize a tier lower just for how hard/expensive it is to get. It's great yeah, but man do I loathe how inaccessible it is for most people. And no internet! You don't NEED this bloody thing!
    - Arcane Steadfast is really good imo for Themal Sunder spam. I've only got a 8% chance version right now, but it always surprises me just how many more Thermal Sunder blasts I can squeeze out my Gauss using it. Wouldn't put it higher than A tier, but it's underrated for sure.
    - Amber/Violet archon shards are too low. 2 Tau Ambers is enough to replace Arcane Energize (doesn't cost 1500+ plat too ^_^) in my experience as its effect is weaker with 2 shards, yes, but it's consistent coz Energize's RNG and cooldown can screw you over.
Violet Shards is the same, 2 Tauforged Violets is enough in most cases to replace Equilibrium (companions now have multiple ways of helping you with energy after all. Equilibrium doesn't have to do all the heavy lifting by itself anymore) as the mods 110% conversion rate is overkill with a good build.
For the rest I agree with these placements.

If you are gonna put equilibrium + synth together, than all the others energy sources can be put in higher tier by using proper synergy. And the bad take "nourish helm dead", people use nourish for 2 things, energy and spreading viral procs to increase dps, pablo said the nerf would not make bad to use as a helm subsume. It would be better if the video was about your favorite energy source than making a incosistent tier list. Its important to be unbiased in tier list so you dont spread missinformation. But that a good try.

  • @SpoopyChicken
    @SpoopyChicken Před 4 měsíci +7

Fantastic video overall on the video! Though I'd like to argue that Nourish is an S or maybe even an S+ tier option for energy generation, mainly because of its strength scaling.
Sure, if you're assuming that nourish only doubles energy received does make it an A tier for energy generation, but most of the time, this isn't really the case because nourish scales with strength. With the right build, nourish can straight up quadruple your energy rate in strength-focused builds. Assuming you're running Nourish with Zenurik, a warframe with 300% strength will essentially be giving you 15 energy/second from zenurik alone and will make every energy orb worth 100 energy per orb, and that's not counting the energy received from all other sources such as Zenurik's own Energy Pulse. Nourish was super powerful as an energy generation ability not just because of its multiplicative increase to energy, but its scalability with higher strength warframes as well.
Running Nourish on a 200% strength Mirage or Mesa basically makes all energy orbs generate 75 energy each, making it equivalent to a rank 4 arcane energize but without the exorbitant platinum cost, plus it works with *ANY* energy source and not just energy orbs. Running Nourish on anything higher than 200% makes it surpass arcane energize in most cases. Nourish definitely deserved its nerf because of this power scaling. Sure, you can argue that it doesn't work on low-strength warframe builds, but most low-strength warframe builds oftentimes don't need that much extra energy as they aren't running Blind Rage, thus making their energy requirement not that high to begin with. Most warframes that need energy oftentimes need it because they're running blind rage, and because nourish has insane strength scaling, this makes it perfect for most warframes that needed the energy.
So yeah, it definitely needed to be toned down a bit, hopefully not too much though because I definitely already have it on a ton of frames...

Dissipate isn't that hard to use and it asks you to do things you already want to be doing (grouping large amounts of enemies) in the game.
Really, the cost of dissipate is more to be considered as dedicating an operator arcane slot for it (which is a generally fairly low cost) and having to pause battle for a second to gain energy (this is a more considerable cost if you need to be replenishing often).

I will say, the more important thing about energy sources is if it is enough and has the least opportunity cost. A lot of people end up generating way more energy than they need and are better off with a different source that takes up a less valuable slot.
In terms of the opportunity cost point, here's an example. For a rhino, primary exhilarate probably sucks since you're probably using rhino to buff your gun damage and it takes up a valuable slot for damage (primary arcane slot). If you're running gyre, you're probably trying to kill with abilities so shooting your gun every now and again to get more energy is much more convenient since the slot is a lot less valuable than the usual energize people run. Gyre really likes molt augmented for pillage full strip and so you only really have 1 arcane slot to use. This makes it harder to justify using energize if you have another arcane you want to use.
This is why I personally do not agree with the exodia brave placement among a couple others. For me, melee weapons usually sit there doing nothing (other than shattering impact for acolyte/demolisher if I need it) so exodia brave just gives me free energy with close to no downside (unlike energize limiting you to 1 arcane slot, or equilibrium taking up a precious mod slot). Obviously, certain frames want certain things more than others so its really hard to tier list all sources since certain frames/builds like certain sources more than others. For example, loki could do well with energy nexus if you get the right efficiency duration values to have permanent uptime on invis regardless of enemy density, headshot kills, or any other unreliability. Loki doesn't really value mod slots too highly since he really just wants duration and maybe efficiency. Gauss however can never go energy nexus imo since he wants range, duration, strength, archon vitality and some efficiency so he values mod slots much higher.

    • @Kiocifer
      @Kiocifer  Před 4 měsíci +5

I totally agree with opportunity cost being the most important part of an energy generation method, which is why I ranked subsumes and especially subsumes + augments so low, relatively speaking - I see where you're coming from with Exodia Brave, and I think this might be a difference in play style and experience, because I personally value my melee weapon greatly, and taking advantage of Exodia Brave generally requires actively killing with the heavy attacks of a subpar Zaw (since you can't use other better Zaw arcanes to patch up the loss in damage). If Exodia Brave only required dealing damage with heavy attacks, I could justify bumping up a tier or two to B, but it doesn't seem to work with DoT kills from forced slash procs on heavies either, which really drags down the potential the arcane could have.
I'd roughly value opportunity cost to be something like:
Augment + Subsume > Subsume > Specific Weapon/Companion Requirement > Arcane > Mod Slot > Aura Slot > Companion Mod Slot
In terms of most to least cost, although this probably depends a lot depending on player experience.

Frost can kill with his 4th ability, but it's a strange interaction with coil, Gyre's subsume. Anyway, there is one energy generation option you missed. No surprise as it's old, obscure, and niche. The Sahasa Kubrow's signature mod Dig will find you what you need every 15 seconds with a 5 second animation. What you need includes 2-3 energy orbs, for a whopping 3.3 energy/second under optimal conditions, but at least can scale with or trigger any effect that needs orbs.
What you need goes quite a ways, health, energy, ammo, and most niche of all _extra life support_ in survival missions. I used to main Ivara, and greatly enjoyed never having to drop out of prowl because I always had energy orbs spawning right on my knees. Good pupper, much recommend for extremely long missions. For raw energy generation, not so much. C tier, for versatility if nothing else.

    Couple of things
Ive gotten great yse out of both amber and violet shards, with ambers being a permanent mini energize (im not sure how you dont see the usefulness of amber shards when energize just does the same thing but 150 energy every 15 seconds at BEST, when just one tau amber shard can get you almost 50 energy on EVERY orb, which for some frames can be enough and not require an entire arcane) and violets are also useful in other areas, especially with citrine in addition to voruna. Fractured blast with equilibrium would be massive overkill, so just having the violet makes more than enough energy to sustain it. Basically anything with access to alot of health orbs will probably benefit from violets allowing to free a mod slot instead of using equilibrium
Exodia brave ive gotten use out of on kullervo the most, but it can definitely be useful otherwise if you youre willing to use a zaw, with the only real downside being that you cant use contagion, so its more of an opportunity cost for the zaw SPECIFICALLY rather than energy generation itself
Primary exhilirate is also a pretty free energy generation method if youre using the cedo as a primer, which i do occasionally as its hands off and i can just shoot the glaive whenever, then that 3eps is basically free since im not using it for damage anyways
Energy nexus definitely deserves to be higher, its just straight up decent passive energy regen and with nourish its just straight up infinite energy. Like you said it "takes up" a mod slot and a subsume, but since nourish is already basically a free slot on a lot of builds, using energy nexus doesnt hurt on ability spam builds. It may be overkill but this is actually what i use on my kullervo now instead of exodia brave, and it is very much worth the mod slot. Its better than equilibrium if you have nourish on your frame already basically

For pseudo-exalted weapons, they do inherit the elements of the stat stick on the weapon. I tested this with Gara's kit. I actively ran Corrosive/Cold before the melee arcanes and now we can run Corrosive/Radiation/ [Cold or Toxin] with Melee Exposure to make sure that we have a favorable matchup against most enemy types. In that regard, you CAN technically kill with cold abilities and proc Archon Flow, but the frames that have Pseudo-Exalted weapons mainly don't need flow, or don't have a mod slot free to use it. I guess maybe Atlas works but even still...

Kind of niche because you need high enemy density, but both of those frames really only work in high density situations anyways. Both frames use it well since you're modding for range on both of them, but Khora uses it slightly better because she can force the enemies into them with strangledomes. So maybe B or C tier on them.

Spectral was used on khora some time ago, can't say when it was but after vorunas helminth was added it's not really worth looking at.
Maybe around C tier in the past. Now it's D, does the job somewhat good but is annoying to use and you need to be at least somewhat camping, short duration (I think), short range (doesn't even cover entire Khora dome sadly), costs quite a bit so if you use too much energy it can be annoying to get back, and you loose a mod slot..
Energy Nexus is quite strong in combination with nourish, although nerfed in the new Dantes Unbound update it still works great. If you run this there is no need to ever think of energy (and no need for energize and it's hefty price tag) was S+ or S combo and is now S or A (depends on if you like to go for low efficiency or not) if you go too low you might struggle on some warframes unless you have duration.
Never seen anyone use fractured blast so would put in F or D tier. Could maybe? work on something but has to be super specific I feel like, and better and easier ways exists.
Energy Pads are S+ tier (if you feel like you can rank it) due to the fact that you don't need an ability, mod, arcane (neither warframe nor weapon), archon shard or weapon (like Tome with Xata Invocation).
If you need lots of energy and don't need warframe arcane slots, Energize and Steadfast is probably best combo without a doubt.

I disagree with the ranking for the voilet archon shard, primary exhilirate, and for energy nexus.
Voilet archon shards give you a fraction of what equilibrium gives, but 20% of a health orb is 10 points, and considering health orbs are almost useless for a warframe without equilibrium it's nice to fit in.
Primary exhilirate doesn't give you much energy, but if you aren't using your primary weapon for anything then it's free energy with any weapon that procs a lot of impact, like acceltra.
Energy nexus is also low energy, but has NO requirements, meaning it can be used in capture, rescue, spy, sabotage, eidolons, exploiter orb, profit taker, and mastery rank tests.
You also didn't include a styanax specter, which gives you 3 energy per sec and 40 shields per kill, but at high enaugh levels it dies instantly and it's not reliable.

  • @samuelemmert5136
    @samuelemmert5136 Před 4 měsíci

There’s something very important about Energy Nexus you’re neglecting: it’s comfy! No, I’m not joking.
Okay, in more tangible terms, Nexus is energy regen that always works even if you just got yeeted off a cliff and had your buffs reset, or are sitting in operator waiting for shields to refresh, or are booking it to the objective halfway across the map; and within that paradigm, it’s pretty fantastic. Refilling your tank in between fights and capping your “ah crap, magnetic proc” downtime to a few seconds instead of betting on how well your build works without energy is a big deal.
While the most common use nowadays is with nourish, 3 energy/sec is genuinely good, to the point where it can sustain a frame like volt or kullevero without further energy support in the build itself. Sure, it won’t work for everything, but it *always* works for the builds that use it. And if you *are* running Nourish anyways, it basically replaces all energy modding short of Flow.

I use spectorage on Titania to fix Lantern. Lantern doesn't automatically draw Aggro if the enemy is focused on shooting something else, like a defense objective. Spectorage has aggro draw, so it can pull attention away from you and objectives and by proxy the Lantern.
Lantern also fixes Spectorage. Enemies that accidentally shoot the lantern will become pacified by it, even if they're outside the pacify range. They then begin attempting to walk into its pacify radius, once bewitched by it. As a result, enemies will not shatter Spectorage as often, because attempting to shoot the mirrors, which have no collision, will result in the lantern getting shot and turning off the weapons trying to shoot it.
I've successfully used this combination in Duviri Steel Path Circuit.
Notably, this combination works even with negative range because the mirror's aggro draw does not scale with range. Hilariously, neither does Lantern's AI manipulation. This turns the combination into a grouping tool due to more enemies trying to swarm into the Lantern's tiny radius, creating a fake chokepoint.
It's something that only barely works. It doesn't work as well in the simulacrum, as you'll see some enemies occasionally fail to see the lantern mirror hall, but in practice with more and more enemies, it will 'collect' most enemies for you even at longer ranges. The augment lets it pay for itself.

While energy siphon/nexus/octavia passive are weak, they can suffice, and when they do... They let you play incredibly lazily. (Well, they're an option) You can stay in one spot with Zenurik etc. (Which can be good for managing spawns in survival), but the sheer laziness of passive regen is so comfy... If you're running Nourish anyway, it's definitely worth trying. Another thing: Index/Arena, super comfy. Spectrosiphon was pretty fun with old Grendel btw., suck up 40 enemies standing in your ring, charge a faction gas staticor (RIP), let go of the charged shot exactly as 40 enemies get ejected, ALL getting hit by like 40 gas clouds. Glorious. Usually didn't actually need spectrosiphon though... They should buff Broken Scepter! I forgot it even does that.
As for energy pads... In modes where you can't use them I make sure I've got my stuff worked out, but otherwise they're really nice for when you maybe spam your 4 a bit too much farming like a zombie. I'll never use them so much that I notice a resource drain that isn't passively sustainable, though. It's kinda weird that they added these, but I like them overal, not fun to run out of energy when there's a dry spell in the orbs either, I wish they added pity timers for that and life support.

With how much energy gain has been power creeped, I really wish the energy gain joined the rest of club with scaling based your modded energy max.(along with making the buffs scale with your modded stats)
Disappointment aside, assuming an energy max of 140 on a base rank warframes combined with the 30 second cooldown makes it a pretty reasonable ~1.16/second, which is applied for each syndicate weapon you have in your loadout(due to each having an independent cooldown).
I'm not sure how early game viable the weapons actually are, considering they're locked to MR12, which is 422K mastery in total, and time gated by 12 days, while even the augments likely take atleast a week to get with my lazy math. Kinda depends on how efficient you are with mastery/reputation gain, and how much time you spend on warframe.
assuming every syndicate weapon in your loadout is viable, I'd probably put borderline B tier.(3-5 energy/second for basically free is a pretty good deal) If the weapons are bad, or you simply don't want to use them, I'd safely put it in D tier, because you still have up to 2 other weapon slots, your warframe, and/or your arch-gun depending on your loadout. I'd probably just slap it in C tier overall, and definitely feels fitting to be along the lines of Energizing Well, and Archon Stretch.

You were playing Zephyr when you used it, but you didn't even airburst the enemies, which would have stopped them from breaking the ability. Generally, the popular warframe for it to be used on is Vauban, as he can almost passively gather and stun enemies, making it practically a free infinite energy source for yourself and teammates.

Once you get the third stack every kill refreshes the timer. The opportunity cost is using a class of melee weapons that are already good, and having to specifically kill with heavy attacks, which isn't hard especially now that tennokai is a thing. Even if you don't refresh the buff 3 kills for more than 60 energy in 5 seconds is easy and fast. It's not A or S, but it should be higher

I'd argue that amber archon shards should actually be higher, not really an A tier mind you but definitely a c tier at least and maybe even a B tier if you're pushing it. 50% might not sound like much and, yeah it's not, but 50% more energy from orbs basically makes energy orbs provide 12.5 more energy per orb (which is equivalent to a rank 0 arcane energize,) and this stacks with every single other method of generating energy orbs in the game which is what makes it good. You can stack this with literally every other energy-orb generation option and have it work decently well. The main reason why it should be at least a C tier though is that it can pretty much be used on everyone with no cost to mod slots or arcane slots, sure it's not really as good of an option as other archon shards such as red's strength or even yellow's casting speed, but an F tier for something that actually does make quite a bit of a difference is a bit harsh. Though it's NOWHERE near an A or S tier, it still does a decent job at helping you upkeep your energy without costing you a mod slot.

I love energy pads and have never had resource issues for building them. I craft 100 of them only about every couple months if I'm playing regularly
Though I have purchased the accessory packs in the past which came with resource boosters

Violet Archon Shards are mathematically underrated. If 2 Tauforged Strength or Duration shards are considered good, then mathematically the Violet Archon Shards should be considered equally as strong. Here's why:
2 Tauforged Duration Shards = 30% Duration, same as regular Continuity.
I'm making this example because it has stronger variant. Primed Continuity, a staple on most Warframes, gives 55% Duration compared to 30%. It's 183.33% more effective than the regular Continuity (30 x 1.8333 = 55).
2 Tauforged Violet Shards for the Equilibrium effect give 30+30 = 60% of conversion. Equilibrium gives 110%, which means it also is 183% more effective than 2 Tauforged Purple Shards (which have the same effectiveness of regular Continuity and regular Intensify).
In other words: 2 Tauforged Violet Archon Shards == 2 Tauforged Crimson Archon Shards.
The "you're better off doing that" argument is not necessarily true basically. However, if you need to take in account several factors with the Archon Shards (Casting Speed, Shields, Corrosive stuff, ecc) then maybe you don't want to invest your slots on those shards, expecially considering they're worth 4 Tauforged Shards in total, or 12 regular Shards.
On the other hand, if you have Archon Shards to spare/you're investing on your favorite Warframes, and you don't think you absolutely need to maximize either Strength or Duration with the Shards, then Violet Archon Shards are a sidegrade to that same concept. You potentially save a mod slot and potentially mod capacity.

Wait enemies naturally drop health orbs?? In my 7 years of playing this game I thought that you can only "force" them to drop health orbs

you skipped grimoir with the cantrip for energy regen, alt fire can give up to 10/s. which is sizable for a weapon based energy source
