"Currently"? Nah mate, they've been doing that for YEARS.
A player driven premium economy, where the currency is legitimately earnable, and only one thing that is exclusive in game being Excalibur Prime, not to mention all the player created content where the player gets the money from sales, Warframe simply has the single best monetized design of any game period.

For reference for how much respect DE has for their players, they used to have a micro transaction that was for kubrow colors, down side being that it was randomized. They noticed that *one* guy kept buying it and the only assumption was that he wasn’t getting the color he wanted. So they disabled it and sold it as proper color packs. This was in 2014.

There was one thing that genuinely stood out to me: Warframe does trailers better than any other game, because the cinematic trailers actually look similar to real gameplay. These devs know how to advertise a game correctly and then add even more on top.

honestly the only thing that really should be fixed is the wait time for the MR mastery. they lock a mission on earth behind MR 5, and so it makes someone new to the game want to get there ASAP. i understand wanting to lock trading behind some sort of wall so that people can't make alts over and over again and trade between them, but instead, make trading access like a daily tribute, but don't lock mastery rank tests behind that time wall. If you fail, then go ahead and make us wait a day, but if you pass it, then you can go to the next one once you make it to the test. it's a pain.

Digital Extremes basically functions a lot like an independent, despite having Tencent as a majority shareholder. They aren't actually indie (and never really have been), but they're definitely not a triple-A studio. Everything from their corporate structure to their design pipeline is way closer to a scrappy startup than an entrenched megacorp. I think they still only have around 300-ish employees total (compare that to bungie's 1,400 employees + auxillary support from PS studios) and not all of them are working on warframe.
It's part of the reason I get a little annoyed by people getting really vitriolic at DE for things like bugs, rebalances, and delays. The game is this unbelievably massive unwieldy amalgamation, and the team making and maintaining it (across 5 friggin' platforms, now) is incredibly small given the scope of the task.
To me, the bits of jank are part of the charm. It's a fully maximalist mess of a game; nothing is ever thrown out entirely, many older areas are just abandoned relics of a prior age, and they just keep throwing new stuff on the wall to see what sticks. Their revenue is predicated on them releasing the Next New Big Thing, so they have to keep plowing forward full speed ahead and break stuff along the way. Yet, somehow, they've managed to sustain it. I've never seen a dev studio so accessible and responsive to its community, so unafraid of throwing out ideas and asking for feedback, and so absolutely insane in the places they're willing to go in gameplay and story. Not everything is a hit, but they just keep going. And the new team seems to be knocking it out of the park on the reg.

I think you have to find the right balance of grinding and “skipping”.

World of Warcraft. $15 a month for unlimited access to all content. Play whatever you want at your own pace, you fall behind, there are catchup mechanics for you. Endgame, you can log in once a week for raid and be done until next week. You could play more, you could be hardcore and sweaty in Mythic+, but you don’t have to to progress your character.
Warframe: you’re either paying for thousands of plat, playing hundreds of hours grinding it out (which is severely limited unless you go up in MR, which conveniently enough, is severely limited by weapon/warframe slots), or deleting your progress to make room for new weapons/frames. Also you are waiting days worth of timegating for everything unless you pay in plat. And of course the dozens of bundles where a couple items cost as much as the entry price to a full game.
I swear Warframe brainwashes the unobservant and uninformed into thinking it has any respect for its players time or money. It doesn’t, you are spending loads of one or the other, pick one. Or pick both.

It takes 1 hour to clone an entire platoon of enemies to deploy in combat, but 36 hours to make paint from their flesh for the dojo.
Saying warframe respects players time is disengenous by omission.
Tell them how miserable granum void and abyssal zone is. Tell them how screwed they are if they don't drop everything to get better amps. Tell them about rotation c rates and diluted loot pools. Tell them about the early game energy economy that keeps them from actually using their abilities.

This game respects neither your wallet nor your time. The game literally has daily rewards (predatory mechanic), daily progress limiters (in the form of standing and building times, both of which are predatory mechanics), and rewards you so little for putting time in. The open worlds are some of the worst content in any game ever. Steel path is the same thing as the original star chart but annoying and boring. I genuinely don't believe anyone could think that this game is worth putting money into let alone time. I have been playing warframe since 2013 and the current state of the game is just horrible. I always hated the infinite grind. I just like the movement and gunplay.

The gameplay is fun and the story is phenomenal. I find fishing and mining in the open world areas to be relaxing.
If you don't like the star chart missions, of course you're not going to like Steel Path, but that's the game. Personally, I find it very fun.
You never have to spend a single cent, and everything is obtainable. I've spent a small amount on platinum, but the majority of what I have I've gotten in game without spending anything.
The game is fantastic, and it's a breath of fresh air in a gaming world full of half-baked cash grabs. The game might just not be for you m8.

To be honest I don't see the Daily Rewards being a Predatory Mechanic in the slightest, I can understand the building time and standing but you will be doing other things in the time span of the standing refreshing and the build time for weapons, the Warframe building time I can understand I think they should lower it from three days. I believe that you saying you get so little for putting time in is flat out wrong I believe that in this game you get rewarded for the exact amount of time you put in. I think saying the Open Worlds of this game are the worst content in any game ever is just flat out wrong to say when there are games out there with worse content. Steel Path exists as another form of Endgame and is designed to be more challenging than the normal Star Chart. At the end of this day, the game is designed around the grind and I can understand if you aren't a fan of that.

      I liked the star chart.
      I don't like:
      -constantly cracking relics
-the leveling system being arbitrarily capped at 30 for most items, frames and companions (another way to make you grind bad items you don't want to use)
-the open world content (it's genuinely the worst and I don't see how anyone could like it)
-the story (it's boring, the gameplay is worse in the story sections and the writing is honestly not good)
-having to do the star chart again for essentially no reward at all and also there is level 130 enemies everywhere because they couldn't be bothered to make actually new content.
Sure the game is fun but just because you don't have to spend a cent on it doesn't mean you're not paying with huge amounts of time that you'll never get back. The grind is too long and annoying, the "endgame" is nonexistent. The most fun I have nowadays is buying STUG RIVENS. Just cause you think this is fine doesn't mean all the other players who agree with me aren't valid with our criticisms.

@@tensa649 Games designed to force you into habitually opening the game multiple times a day every day isn't predatory?
      Let's agree to disagree there.
The open worlds have so little content, running bounties for standing is an inherently evil mechanic and even the people who made it don't like it. I hate having to spend my EXP on random items in order to build the few good things from the open world areas that completely ruin the flow of the game.
I really can't think of any content in any other game that I hate more than the open worlds of warframe. It doesn't matter how much you say there is to do, it's mostly just variations of the same 15 mission types for infinite amounts of time until you invariably get bored and wait for the next update. The whole game is predatory. It may not be trying to steal money from you at every corner but it absolutely feels like the whole game was designed around making everything take way too much time so you are more willing to pay for mechanics.
This is all without me even touching the prime access issues and the FOMO skins and the neverending supply of content that just isn't as good as normal nodes on the star chart (which they rarely make more of).

I don't know what you're smoking, I'm like 300% sure you're just saying this as bait.
The open worlds are pretty bad, but everything else is very enjoyable.
      Steel path test your builds.
I don't know what your problem is with the lvl 30 cap, tf you want them to raise it for??
