This a Pirogue....A Louisiana swap boat...His inside seams can be made with polyester epoxy and shredded fillers to make a paste, and finished at 45 degree angle to side and bottom - it makes a bullet proof seam....Just a coat of resin and tape seems really flimsy...but then again, I sheathed the entire outside with fibreglass cloth like a stripper canoe...
Great Job and Nice build. Especially in using nothing but hand tools to build her with. The only thing I would be skeptical, and afraid of.....? Would be that the joining together of the kerf spline joints are all located at the same point on both the bottom, as well as on the sides. That makes for a very unstable weak point in overall structural strength of the hull. It is a great way to save upon the amount of material, and money needed in building it. But it also could suddenly fail and cause the canoe to suddenly break apart at those splice point joints in a moment of hard stress. Any "Old-Timer" Boat-Wright (builder), worth his salt, would shudder his timbers, and fall apart at his own seams just thinking about the thought of building any boat, or canoe with the kerf splice joints all being located at the same point on both the bottom, and the sides of the hull. - Hope you have, an "Angel" riding on your shoulder, as well as have and wear a flotation vest every time you launch her and take her out into the water, if not... The only other thing you can do is ask yourself the following question.... "How Long can I tread water, if those splice joint seams fail"?

Cześć. Na burty spokojnie 5 mm wystarczy, jednak jeżeli chodzi o dno to u mnie nawet 6 mm pracuje na fali, więc 5 mm może już być za mało, chyba że wykonasz taki kil jak jest w projekcie, który bardzo usztywni całość.

Prawdę powiedziawszy nigdy jej dokładnie nie zważyłem, myślę że poniżej 40 kg, mając wyprofilowaną rozpórkę śmiało można z nią chodzić, ale nigdy tego nie testowałem na dłuższa metę, bo miałem zwykłą kantówkę i wbijała się w kark ;). Canoe było zrobione po kosztach, trzymane pod chmurką nad jeziorem (nawet zimą), więc i tak nieźle się trzymało. W zeszłym roku dorobiłem przed sezonem trzecią ławkę i odmalowałem z obu stron. Niestety tej zimy nie przetrwała, przez splot nieszczęśliwych wypadków dostałą się do wody, leżała na burcie do środka dostał się piach "kotwicząc" ją w miejscu, a fale uderzając w wystającą resztę rozerwały kadłub na wiązaniu. Ostatni raz pływałem z synem jesienią i spisywała się jak zawsze bez zarzutu. Choć gdybym miał budować jeszcze raz do kilku rzeczy podszedłbym inaczej.
Epoksyd tylko na łączeniach. Na sklejkę najpierw 2-3 warstwy lakieru alkidowego, a na to farba. Epoksyd po całości pewnie byłby lepszy (mocniejszy), jednak z lakierem jest prościej i taniej. No i też daje radę. Pozdrawiam
Artur Kaczyński Mam pytanie czy ten kajak nie złamie się w pół jak stanął bym na nim? Bo te wzmocnienie to tylko kawalek sklejki sklejonej z dnem kajaku. Ciekawie by bylo postrzelac z kajaka Winchesterem 1873 :) Jakieś wyzwanie i urozmaicenie w nudne dni :D Na pewno go wykonam! Schemat juz zalatwilem. Czytałem, że ma wyporność do 250kg, starczy na dwie osoby z ekwipunkiem i workiem złota. ^^

Witam. Jakiej grubości sklejki użyłeś. Łączenia są tylko klejone rzywica i włuknem szklanym?

Moze byc i 4mm, tylko trzeba wstawic kilka wreg, a najlepiej dno zrobic nie plaskie.
Nawet niewielki kat ma dnie bardzo je usztywni.

Cześć. Najtańsza sosnowa wodoodporna sklejka klasy chyba 3/4 jaką dostałem na miejscu. Płaciłem chyba 90 zł za arkusz. Alt to było 5 lat temu ;).
Zacna roota. Ja kombinuje nieco inaczej ale jesli nie wyjdzie to skorzystam z Twojego pomyslu. Masz zablony? Co to za ksiazka?

Ile łódka waży? Da radę ją nieść na plecach razem z plecakiem? No i jak się sprawuje po 5 latach?
