So far, this is the best sounding brass library I've ever heard or used, but it kills me that solo trombone wasn't recorded.

Just wanna say that the dude's voice on these videos is great. Reminds me of NYC public radio announcer John Schafer, who for years was instrumental in introducing some of the best/newest composers and musicians since the 1980's. Very soothing sound. Best of luck.
Wow, this sounds incredible! Glad OT is recording more libraries at Air (that are also more consistent and better than their older products overall as well). I wish the legato would receive more polishing though, it's VERY rough. I love that you included performance-sourced articulations. This is definitely the way to go. Standard sampling alone has proven not to be enough and imho it peaked a while ago. It's definitely needed sometimes but peformance-sourced samples are the future and allow the musicians to perform which is a big deal!

Spitfire Audio?
Sounds good to me. The only thing I wish for is the option to have articulations like crescendos tempo-synced with the DAW. That's more of a SINE issue, though. Other than that, this is a great-sounding brass library.

As a long time trumpet player in Hollywood and etc., this is pretty good. I usually do all of my own tracks myself, but this sounds like you got the attack much better than others I have heard. I really listen to the attacks, since sometimes these types of brass sound synthetic to me. I will explore further. Also the Cresc. to the next lines are a great idea.

I'm impressed! I want to know the why another brass library when you already released Tom Holkenborg's Brass. What are the difference of Beaufort and Tom Holkenborg's Brass? Also, does Beaufort mix well with other libraries recorded in Teldex Studio? I had some libraries from Spitfire Audio recorded in Air Studio but they did not mix well with other libraries, so I stopped using them...

The why is pretty simple, we really wanted a brass collection that captures that classic Hollywood adventure style. In our opinion, so much of that comes down to the initial attack on the notes, and some specific dynamic articulations - so when we had the opportunity to record those things with some of the most sought-after British brass players who specialize in that sound (amongst others), we couldn't pass it up.
Lyndhurst Hall is a medium-sized room, just like Teldex, and there's enough consistency in quality and technique across the engineering of OT collections that Beaufort will blend smoothly with a Teldex collection like Berlin Brass, and the same for non-brass collections like Berlin Strings etc etc.

I wish the tuba and bass trombone had been sampled individually so we could use them in octaves. It also seems a bit strange to not include a solo tenor trombone. I guess corners had to be cut to meet a target sales price or what?
We appreciate the feedback, and you're entitled to be disappointed with aspects of the collection, who knows - we may even return to it one day. But, the choice of instrumentation in Beaufort was stylistic, and not driven by a desire to cut corners or to meet a sales price.
@@Orchestral-Tools I get that, after all, the sound you get from recording these players together is indeed very different. Not just from a recording standpoint but the performances are different, nothing beats the real thing basically. That said, I'd love to see a beaufort expansion in the future with other soloists and instruments tho!
This is straight out of the Spitfire Audio marketing playbook. Only difference is that OT never told us how many players are used.
They do it (1:21), "a3" means there are 3 players, "a4" are four, and so on (SA and other OT libraries does the same btw)
And yes, directly from SA, but even in their own playground, OT made it sound greater, by far better programmed, inside a plugin that don't give cpu problems; sadly, with fewer instruments and same price (Symphonic Brass as reference). But hey, it's a matter of taste
I mean they did, they've been listing the size of the sections on their website since the Berlin stuff (beginning of times basically XD).
Actually seems like there's something wrong with the legato at 7:21 onward. Will this be corrected with an update?

JunkieXL is still by far THE best brass library out there

@@OrlandoAponte I don’t have any issues but I guess it truly depends on the style of music you’re composing. I write big epic orchestral and no library from the toooons that I have can match the bombastic sound of JXL

😂😂😂 For real! Performance Samples took so long that I gave up and ordered Beaufort instead. Hours later, they release Pacific Brass, and still no walkthrough lol I'm kind of grateful, though, as Beaufort can do everything Pacific Brass can and more. My budget is gone anyway 🫡

@@talnomix3164 Do you own both libraries, or just guessing? According to an actual owner of Pacific Brass on VI-Control, it's not as playable as expected. The trumpet repetitions seem to lack agility, which is a significant letdown given that it's a key feature of the library. Conversely, after playing with Beaufort for the past day, I can confirm that it is very agile and expressive. I'm not concerned about having dozens of dynamic layers, as they can introduce their own issues. Even Jasper himself is using modeling to smooth out crossfades.
@@talnomix3164 It has 1 more dynamic, it is more playable indeed but very limited considering what the expactations for PB were, it doesn't do crescendos or shorts very well, etc. Both are great but being a Performance Samples mega fanboy myself I'd go with Beaufort, no question about it
