My mom used to come once a week or sometimes once in a month because the distance between two cities was huge. My grandmother used to distract me by taking to pluck flowers so that I won't cry when my mother or father where leaving. Although I don't remember much, but my parents still remember the pain of separation. It is still visible in their eyes 🥺 I love my parents and my grandparents so much ❤️

For the 9 hours a day putting him in a daycare , I always carry that guilt and burden on my heart for not being able to spend time with him. When I see him on camera in school, eating by himself, sleeping by himself, my heart just breaks. So now a days I don't try to see him on camera. One day when my manager complained about working from home due to covid and trying to suggest that having child at home may be interrupting, I told him that myt son goes in a daycare fulltime and guess what he said, I don't know. I am not there to check. That day I decided to not spend a single more minute at work. just do what they pay you for. they are not worth it. your kids deserve your time.

For example, Shanghai has the world's top hospitals, but only people with Shanghai hukou can be covered under more favorable Shanghai social medial insurance system. Other provinces' social insurance might not cover expense from Shanghai hospitals at all. Some Chinese immigrants in Canada and Australia told me that it is more difficult for them to immigrate to Shanghai than to Canada or Australia. It is very sad.

      @johnanon372 Před 3 lety +36

      @@rokmun680 With that being said, hukou is not an evil measure to lock people in their region(what China Uncensored tries to make you believe). From the social perspective, hukou allows China to gradually increase social welfare according to the economical output of a region. However, in order to completely remove hukou, China must become a lot richer, GDP per capita must double from 10k USD/per person per year to 20k, which is probably why China and US fights. Not 10 years ago, parents who ventures into big cities can only speak to their left-behind kids in actual phone call, no video or 24h surveillance at all. China is "rich" overall but don't forget its population is more than EU, US, UK, AUS, and Japan combined. I'm so glad I never considered having children before I got my career going first. . . .then when I was not able to find a suitable husband to have kids with. . .I am childless to this day and do not regret the choice I made to be single and childless if I was unable to make the best environment in order to have them and raise them with love and attention all children require to grow up healthy and happy. I would consider adopting or being a foster mom but right now I do not have the optimum home environment for that purpose and besides, you have to be married in order to be a foster parent.

When we came back my 3 yo daughter saw me and first she flash a smile that suddenly turn into a confused look and then it look like she was gonna cry. Their environment makes them growing up so independent coz they learn cooking, farming and raising their lil siblings and taking care of their grandparents to survive since they're so young. Chinese factories/companies usually provide accommodation to their workers, but something like a bed only (i.e., few workers sharing one room, each has their own bed with shared bathroom). As a result, it is impossible for these workers to bring along their families and shift to the place where they're working. They cannot afford the housing & living expenses there.
      In other words, they have to earn higher pay in bigger cities and raise their families with their wages in smaller cities that have lower housing & living expenses.

    I’ve been to China many times and I’m well aware of the tens of thousands of parents that are forced to leave their homes in rural areas to find work in bigger cities like Shenzhen. I can only imagine how difficult that must be to only see your children during holidays.😢
    Praying for this family and so many others like them. I pray that they are eventually able to find better paying work closer to their homes so they are able to live their lives happily as a family.🙏🏻❤️

    I understand the feeling of the kid because I was growing up far from my parents. I was in the province and my parents work in the City. Every once a year we can see each other. But I understand the situation and I used to it growing up.

    There's a saying
    "A son is a son till he gets a wife,but your daughter is a daughter all of her life "❤️
    The reason why daughters love their dad the most is that there is atleast one man in the world who Will never hurt her

      some dads do hurt their daughters, and sometimes it can be the worst, most traumatic experience for the daughter. lots of daughters develop different issues because of their dads like trust, abandonment, etc

    i dont even have kids and it makes me cry to see babies not being able to spend time with their parents, for at least 5 or 6 years, it would be amazing to have that time to be with the kids. Honestly, that's the bonding time you need to make sure they grow up right.
