Canon R3 Mirrorless Camera Unboxing: Huge Disappointment! meaning I am unable to attach any of my current lenses. Unboxing the R3 but unable to attach my EF lenses to try it out!
Thank you… the adaptor arrived after a three day wait and I am currently working on a new video giving my first impressions. … will be publishing in the next few days do watch out for a notification. Thanks for your support.
Hi. I am happy to say that I am more than happy with the camera and all of the associated equipment.i have just spent 22 days photographing and filming in Kruger Park for my video series on the Kruger experience and I am delighted with the results for both video and photography.
That's great! Glad to hear that you are enjoying it and that it is passing your tests. Debating on this front on whether or not to jump for an R3 or continue to wait for the rumoured R1.@@BETTERPHOTOGRAPHYCHANNEL
Congrats on the R3 but here are a couple of notes from my experience with RF system; I had the control ring adapter for EF-RF for 3yrs, initially thought it was a great idea having the extra control ring but over the 3 years, I had only used it twice then disabled it as the ring was way-way too close to the body to turn easily and with the Canon bodies, there are much better ways to change ISO or WB than to use the ring. Also... after using the ring for 2yr+, the adapter started to get slightly loose and occasionally throw a lens error that required me to remove the adapter from the lens & camera and reattach to get the camera to respond and work again.
Thanks Steven . After trying out the camera for a few days I already thought that the ring may be a little awkward for ISO so decided that the three main controls for the Aperture, Shutter Speed snd ISO are more convenient for me using the three wheels on the camera. Since last week I have also invested in a 200-500 RF lens… ( first impression video coming this week) . I picked it up yesterday and typically it has bucketed down all day so no chance to try it out… hopefully will get out tomorrow!
I have just purchased the R3 from Jessops and waiting for its arrival. Looking forward to seeing more of your vlog content.
That’s great! You will not be disappointed!
sorry for your disappointment, hope the adaptor arrive soon and you enjoy this great camera. love your shots so much.

@@BETTERPHOTOGRAPHYCHANNEL good to know, yes.. the RF 200-500 would be much better than just adapting EF glass. Have fun with your R3~!
