Hey John, hope you're keeping well. Its nice to have a Pro-Body camera again, just amazed how light the camera is, will take me while to get use to the new system.
You got it all dialed in Darryl, sound and light both! Good luck with the R3, looking forward to some amazing mountainbiking action shots! I also got myself a ridiculously expensive new camera since I switched system now, that I tried out 2 months in Africa (hint in the latest video, hehe). It is fun though, to try new gear!
Nice informative video Darryl! I'm glad you managed to settle in in the new space. I had the chance to shoot with the R3 in a couple of occasions, and I loved the video functionalities and eye-focus assist a lot! Looking forward to know your thoughts afetr shooting with it !
Thanks for the video and sharing your initial impressions of the R3. I’m torn between it and the R5! Since you mentioned several times you’re a long-time Nikon user, and you’re a professional, is there a reason you decided to change your “tools of the trade” from Nikon to Canon? I would assume you have a lot of money and gear tied up in Nikon already. Why not just stick with Nikon?
When did you order your R3? Curious how long yours was delayed. I ordered mine 3 weeks ago and I have a really bad feeling that I won't see it until the middle or end of summer.
Nikon user and got my Nikon z9 and my friend got the Canon R3. The SD card was annoying him as a slow bottleneck so he went back to Canon 1dx Mark iii. He's planning to get the Canon R1 when it comes out.
@@DarrylCarey We are good thanks! Sweden has no restrictions left so we are back to normal! You are welcome to visit and shoot our sport competitions with your new camera!
@@SinaFarhat Sadly NZ is not in a good place right now (covid), would love to travel again. Will have to visit Sweden when I'm back in Europe ( maybe later this year) 😉
Hi Mahmoud, I shoot a lot video now with the Canon C70 and Red Komodo which both have RF mount, plus I like the canon AF system and the face/eye tracking is the best ( for me). plus the internal raw video recording is on another level, not a big fan of using an external device to record raw. The Nikon looks amazing, looking forward to what Nikon does next.
@@DarrylCarey no argument on the unified rf lenses across red and canon but just a note the Nikon Z9 does support Raw internal recording (there’s an update coming in the next few months with 8k60 and prores raw. Cheers).
Over the last few years I have been lucky to test many different systems and I have finally found a system that works for me, plus my C70 and Red Komodo are Canon RF mount cameras, so it makes sense to shoot with Canon for photography as I do not need to different lenses in different mounts
Welcome back Darryl! Been waiting for new reviews from you for a while, glad to hear you have a plan to make regular videos in the next months.
Great to see you back, Darryl. Love the camera…a real pro’s tool.

Thanks Eugene
Excited to see what you create with it!

Why did I not get a notification for your new video? Going to watch now and report back.........
Really enjoyed the last 2 videos...Full switch to Sony? .... Happy with the AF?🤣

Damn that's a monster battery! Nice sound with the new studio, worth the effort.
Good to see you back, Darryl.
Same Scott, been missing your videos
Looking forward to everything new!
Thanks Bradley
I'm glad when you have time to make videos. Not too many photographers your level make CZcams videos. Looks great.
Thanks Manila Martin

From ordering to delivery was about a week, I was just very lucky my friend found one for me

Have you tried comparing the video quality from this to the komodo
which one camera feels better in hand r3 or sl2-s?
100% the Canon R3 😉
Good to see you!
Congrats on finding a R3!
Selling mine that's unused if you're interested!
@@kelb89 I am good thanks, I have no need for such a advanced camera as I don't shoot anything that requires such features.

That's a serious bit of kit.
Just picked up an old Canon 5d in mint condition. Lol
Been looking for an original 5D, you enjoying the camera?
@@DarrylCarey loving it. Great colours
I shoot a ton of high school sports, I have been pondering this
Where can I get the hot shoe cover?
Aww, hmmm, from Canon I am guessing? 🤔🙄😆🤣
Had a R6, planned to switch to R5 and saw a R3 for 3.5K. Immediately bought it. It‘s overkill for sure but I love it und will never switch it😅
R3 for 3.4K, thats an awesome deal. Have you tested the eye tracking yet?
I want one.
I read the other day its going to take Canon 6 months just to fill the back orders, which is crazy
Why not the Z9? Since you’ve been a Nikon for that many years?

Love your videos, but blimey you must be seriously loaded, the stuff you’ve bought 😳
I wish 🤪, just work very hard and buy the right tools for the job...
It’s his bizness Chloe baby, really. He works hard for the money. 😆
Nice video. I am a little concerned with the battery grip pushing up against my hand holding the camera. Thanks. FD
Wow, what a poof 😆
