    The High-pressure fuel pump on a direct-injected engine is a very important component that is under a lot of stress over time. Therefore knowing how it works , how to diagnose it or replace it if needed is also important . On this Mercedes w210 e220 cdi the hpfp (high-pressure fuel pump ) Is located right at the end of the camshaft and not on top of it like on newer models .

    Hi, I saw your video and it turned out very interesting. I have a problem with my mercedes w210 year 2000 the same engine like that of your video. After parking car I found some bubble in the pipe that connect the fuel filter to low pressure pump. I tried to change fuel filter with the new gasket. I changed all the pipe oring. I noticed that taking off the fuel shut off valve's connector the engine started in the same way. Is it possible that the fuel shut off valve doesn't work anymore and the bubble are formed because this valve doesn't blocked fuel? Is it possible that the problem could be in the cover of the fuel filter wher there is a no return valve. Please, do you have any advices. Thanks a lot and have a nice day.

    HI I have a 320 CDI with an intermittent hard starting problem, but no lack of power under full acceleration, I do also have a fuel tank pressurisation situation in that when I remove the filler cap I often have a noticeable air pressure escape from the tank, is this an indicator of something like a air leaking into the fuel suction lines or is this normal? I do see "some" air bubbles on the return line from the filter back to the tank.
    Great channel by the way! Thank you.

    • @doit_vehicles
      @doit_vehicles  Před 3 lety +1

      Hi ! There is a vent that runs from the fuel tank and releases the vacuum (allow air to come in ) ; Once the car uses fuel there has to be air coming in to replaces the space occupied previously by the diesel. This is fault happens more on diesel since it won't evaporate like gasoline. So check the valve - clean / replace. The air bubbles can also be due to high vacuum inside the tank, but the check valve attached to the engine should stop that ( so that one might also not work good enough ) Cheers !

    One question, i suspect that my shut of valve is not working correctly, basically, when i turn of the car it has some run on - violent engine shake and i have brand-new high-quality engine mounts so it is not engine mount issue. Is it possible to service somehow the shut of valve because i cannot find brand new replacement for it? Also worth mentioning is that there is minor leak of diesel - fuel around the high-pressure and the low-pressure pumps hoses. I will change the rubber o rings soon, and also a question there is if there are different dimension rubber o rings for the shut off valve plastic that connects it with plastic pipe with the high-pressure fuel pipe?

      @@CZcamsCommentator. My engine mounts are unknown brand to me because they were replaced at some local garage here in my town, they just told me that they are hydraulic, but I highly doubt that they are the best one out there, maybe mid-range quality. About the flex disc, are you referring to the flex disk on the propeller shaft? If yes, I have never replaced it, but I saw it while in service that is ok and does not have any play in it. And about the shot of valve, it is really too expensive to replace it if replaced with brand new so as long as I am not 100% sure that that's the problem, I will not be replacing it. The car is too old to invest expensive parts in it. In addition, my clutch is not in best shape, but I also want to drive it as long as it can handle and replace it once is really bad. I don't know if the dual fly mass wheel on it, if bad, can make such a vibration on shut down, but as long as i shut of my car in neutral, it should play roll in this scenario.
