This film was one of the highest grossing (no pun intended) movies of the year. A true mix of horror/tragedy which makes for a great film. I love that they talk about working on the idea of a flat screen TV in 1957. At that point in time "Made in Japan" still had the connotation of being cheap and mass produced, part of Japan's reconstruction after WW II. The fate of the cat is heartbreaking. The end scene is incredibly powerful, and even more so if you see it in a theatre. Although I like the idea of the remake (DNA mixing), I still love the body part swap of this film. The reveal and the fly's eye perspective of her screaming are classic.
