    awesome job, one question; Is there a reason why you use marmoset for baking rather then using the substance painter one as you are texturing it in there anyway?

    • @JakubMasarik

      Thanks, the marmoset had better baking resoults.

    Hey can i ask why did you use decimated mesh as your low poly instead of retopology by hand, i see some artist do this too... I though if retopo by hand would save more poly count?

    • @JakubMasarik
      @JakubMasarik  Před 19 dny +1

      If you can save time it is more worth it than good topology. And if it is static object do not make topology if it is not desired.

      @Jakub Masarik can you say.If I want to do model like that for game engine ,I must do retopology? And how correctly do it?

    • @JakubMasarik
      @JakubMasarik  Před rokem

      @@lisniakaleksandr6923 It depends. If you doing it for your personal project just do decimate in Zbrush, it saves time a lot. Good for a portfolio though is to show that you actually can do good retopo or at least show that you understand the workflow. But for inorganic assets like this one I have made does not matter as long as you can manage to do a good bake without artifacts.

    If I had £200 to drop would you recommend zbrush or substance painter?, I’m learning unreal 5 and blender and was wondering which would compliment them best. Thanks in advance , great vid

    • @JakubMasarik
      @JakubMasarik  Před 2 měsíci

      It depends on your needs. You can do basic sculpting in blender. So i would prefere substance painter. There should be permanent licence on steam unlike zbrush. The basic sculpt you can do in blender and its faster, you don have to export anything. But if you sculpting some high detail rock i woild reccomend Zbrush but in the end you will need substance painter to texture it.

    Amazing work, I was curious why you didn't retopologize after after sculpting?

    • @JakubMasarik
      @JakubMasarik  Před rokem +4

      Thanks, I would love to know that too :-D, I think I miss edited the video. Or I did retopo and then after that, I decided to change a few details and forget to record the second retopo and clean up. I made a lot of mistakes in this video.

    Sorry for being dim but I'd love to know how you added the internal faces after the loop cut???

    • @JakubMasarik
      @JakubMasarik  Před 2 lety

      Oh, I was wondering what you mean by that but then I realized :). If I am correct it is in the 0:45 minute? If so, you need to separate the meshes (Select mesh and press P) so each brick does not touch them selfs then you just select edge and pre F (fill)

  • @breeze8512
    @breeze8512 Před rokem +1

    hey love this! curious on why you have a preference to sculpt in zbrush instead of blender?

    • @JakubMasarik
      @JakubMasarik  Před rokem +3

      I Just learned Zbrush first. I never tryied blender sculpt. But for what I did in Zbrush it is enough to do In blender. But more advanced sculpt i would not do in blender. Personal preference only.

      Sorry for the speed but it is timelapse of more than 8 hour video which is also trimed down from repettitive parts. About the brush i do not know any inflate_3dcw

      @TomMAF4 Před 24 dny

    • @TomMAF4
      @TomMAF4 Před 24 dny

      @@JakubMasarik Btw no worries about the speed. Personally, (no idea about anyone else) I would find the video more valuable and from it gain more info it was half the current speed and 30mins instead. Maybe that screws the algorithm or something but just feels like a shame that such a good demonstation is 'rushed' to me.
      Obviously very happy it exists and much happier it exists as is than not at all!

    • @JakubMasarik
      @JakubMasarik  Před 7 měsíci +8

      You can use any software you like. It was always about the outcome and speed and how confortable you are with the software. I knew zbrush better for sculpting than blender and when I was learning There was only Zbrush capable sculpting in.
