I'm always impressed with your tenacity. You have the most positive attitude on CZcams. Hopefully, it is contagious. The world could sure use a contagion like that.
Thanks for watching
Amen to that!
If would go blind i probably still listen to captains hilarious comments with a big grin ear to ear😂
Capt’s tenacity and willingness to try new things has inspired me to do some welding. Mike, if you’d remember me mentioning that to you before about welding….you said, ‘just give it a shot.’ Well, I did! And it turned out half decent! Thank you!
Capt, a suggestion for that hydraulic fitting… 1 3/4 then try to find a piece of metal pipe about about the same size… and a small piece of hose to “join them pipe to the existing piece with hose clamps…then do the same on the other end connecting the pipe to the hydraulic hose you bought… hope this makes sense….
A used backhoe is a full time job for a novice mechanic ! I am one of them .
Stay with her. That machine will be awesome
Thanks James
Classic Kleeman…. Wear the brightest yellow sweater when working on the dirtiest nastiest piece of equipment!!!👍👍😂😂😂
The color of the shirt doesn't determine the amount of dirt on it
She certainly sounds sweet, which is credit to all the hard work you've done. Let's not forget as we get older leaks become a fact of life, how old is the 555? 🤣 At least she's not stuck in a care home, but able to live out in the community, feel useful and has someone to care for her. 👍🤗
Running pretty smooth for her age for sure!
You know it's going to be a good day when you wake up to a video by the Captain.
Kleeman makes everything into a log skidder.
Wait until you see how well the FUBAR-RU pulls trees.
glad to see you got the ole girl reserected she should be more than enough machine for the homestead good luck with those wasps
I’m glad that you rescued a still good piece of equipment from being scraped Mike, I bet it feels good to you! There’s going to be problems until you get her up to par again but that’s obvious just don’t get discouraged ! I think you’ve done an awesome job getting her going Mike, you should get years of use out of her! Just keep her maintained and I know you will brother! Awesome, Kirk from Louisiana and thanks for sharing my friend! Sending prayers to you and your family my friend! 🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👌🏻👌🏻👌🏻👌🏻🤙🏻🤙🏻🤙🏻🤙🏻🤙🏻🤙🏻🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸 I really like watching these videos too Mike!
Thanks Kirk!
Your getting there! All it takes is time, money and the desire to get it done. But MONEY is always the greatest problem of all. Great job.
Thanks!
I've known many temporary fixes that have lasted forever - sometimes 'good enough' IS good enough! Your positive attitude is an inspiration. Great video again, thanks Captain.
Exactly!
Told ya Captain. She will look after you. Keep looking after her and she will reward you. What a lovely video from you.
Appreciate ya watching
Do you ever sit down and relax Mike ? 😂🤣 Your hard work ethic is inspiring as is your humour and patient positive outlook on life, you thoroughly deserve all your successes ! Best wishes from Britain 👍🇺🇸🇬🇧🇺🇸🇬🇧
All the time lol
Got close to 50000 hrs on my 1972 580B case still in use every other day
That Power Steering pump on the front left of engine has it's own reservoir.
Take the cap off and I bet it's empty. Those pump seals are known to leak PS fluid into the crankcase oil, diluting it. So I have in the past used the same engine oil in that system, occasionally draining off the crankcase as needed to keep proper level until I get time to remove pump and reseal.
Correct, I run a through a quart in about 10 minutes 👍
Wow That's bad. Your right that needs to be the next project so you don't burn up the pump, needing a simple reseal. But they are plentiful replacements on the web.
Great Job on the old Ford.@@CaptainKleeman
@@thomaspetroff9117 thanks!
I love that backhoe. I grew up in a little tiny town of around 140 people and that’s what the city owned. It was the town work truck, snow plow, excavator, loader; he literally used it everyday for everything. It was named “Old Yeller”
Way to work forward Captain Kleeman. 💪 power on and keep making the uploads.😊😊😊
Thank you, I will
I have really enjoyed the Ford 555 project, you are slowly getting back up to running condition.👍👍👍
Thanks 👍
Hot darn Mike. That is so cool.
Thanks
Yes about time
Where their is a will there is a way, or necessity is the mother of invention. well done Mike good job.
Lol couldn’t be more hooked on your journey with this machine and am always blown away by your ability to grind away regardless fixing endless issues with a smile well at least on camera 😎🇬🇧
💪
I actually caught myself stretching my head and moving my phone to see down in there to watch you work 😊
It's the Little Victories that keep us going. Thanks for the Great Attitude you show!
You bet!
Oh heck yeah Captain she’s starting to come together!!!! Way to go
💪
Ask Aaron to weld a reducer to on both sides, make both inch and half. Less specialized hoses equals less expense.
If I was gonna weld something I would do it myself. Thanks for watching
I bet every time Clinton at C&C watches your video on this backhoe, he counts his blessings that you wanted this piece of equipment!!! You have a lot of patience!! Thanks for sharing.
It’s Always good to find Time to Catch up on your Shenanigans 😂😂, Good to See You Sir
Thanks for stopping by David!
I admire the tenacity of working through those hillbilly addons, finding simple ways to keep it in operating order. If it was going to a job sit, the money needed to make it a commercial machine would happen just as if it was your work truck... just that simple. I don't see it going to Sema for the battle of backhoes but who knows, It is the Kleeman channel so expect the unexpected to stay in the winning loop. Keep it simple is the absolute right way and ya did gooder than heck
Wait there is a battle? That sounds like good content to me
Bit by bit it is getting better. Makes a nice tool for the small jobs around.
Never give up. Quitters are losers
I thought she almost made you lose it, classic cry for help😂👍🇺🇸
Your persistence is awesome Captain! She sounds great and she keeps getting better and better. Hang in there and before you know it she'll be good as new. Can't wait to see your next adventure!
Appreciate ya watching
Your gaining on it !! That hoe sure will be handy for you. Always nice to see someone use a little knowhow and get something accomplished rather than just quitting. Hats of to your perseverance on tasks!!
The triple nickel looks great! A few issues, but nothing that can’t be fixed.
Agreed!
Keep plugging away, eventually you will have all the bugs worked out and it will make you a great machine to work around your property. Your doing a great job.😁
Always like to see the mechanical stuff. Keep up the good work!
Thanks, will do!
Hi Captain
What can I say. Your dedication to making non-stop action videos is impressive. Who else would blow so many lines for their audience.
It is a sign of spring coming when wasps start to bother you. At least you won't have wasps setting up shop in your lungs, with the amount of spray you must have inhaled.😅
Thanks for sharing
Michael (from Scotland)
Appreciate ya watching
Love the way you always seem to find a way to get out of a bind. Good job Mike
💪
She is sounding pretty good
Thanks
Everyone needs a TLB in their fleet. It won't be long, and you will have all the problems worked out.
Those 10 gallon port-a-tank air tanks are nice to have on charged 150psi standby to bring out into the country to top off tires and what not. (no batteries or electricity needed)
No electricity ya say? How did you get the air in the tank? Lol. A portable tank would be handy someday
@@CaptainKleeman You keep it filled up in the garage from your regular air pump and then take it when you need it.
That is a real Thing Of Beauty 😊 Love watching you tag team in the shop so good. Just chilling watching the big screen having a cold Beer 🍺
Yay! Great job, Mike...she does what she's supposed to do! Lots of figuring and hard work on your part! I guess it will always be something, but you are closer!
Making head way
Congrats, Captain…you deserve to have the machine working, after all of your efforts! Thanks again!
Appreciate ya watching
Handy machines backhoes
cool my dad in late 70s had a case backhoe that thing constantly broke he dug foundations for new houses he was poor.but every sunday after church i was just little then he drug me with him and my german shepard and we had to work on it so it was ready for monday.we lived in mn so it was always so cold shivered whole time for hours
Great work I hoped you would get lucky with the hydrolic lines as that's usually the expensive part of saving older equipment. But she is getting these and is now able to be worked, she will soon have herself paid off with the extra work you can get done round the homestead
She's getting there slow but sure
Here's an idea for a next video about this backhoe build. What's better, fixing an old backhoe, or buying some Chinese brand new backhoe.
Fixing an old backhoe
Wish more people had your work ethic! You make watching your videos fun.
I appreciate that!
Awesome stuff. Your Determination and dedication is amazing. I really enjoy listening to you handle the almost never ending discovery of problems without any apparent increase in your irritation. What a great example of a first-class attitude.
💪
Yeah, buddy. I go through the whole gamut of emotions watching Capt K. At first I'm amazed at the comparison of a holster and a cup holder. Not one out a billion would make that comparison. But then the very rare Kleemanpithicus screams like a little girl over a little bitty flying insect. I just don't know what to think anymore... lol
Hey those things hurt man 🤣🤣
Thanks for the Thursday morning video. Very much enjoyed it you are working through all the kinks.
Thanks for watching!
12:54 🤣🤣 Man, it's one thing after another with that hoe! 😳🤣 Seriously though you're working your way through the issues one or two or three at a time 😁 and eventually you'll get them fixed. I am looking forward to it and in awe of your great attitude. Great video. Thank you Capt. 👍
Can't wait to see your next vid on boat
Me too
The Hoyt Clagwell is coming along nicely! For young people Hoyt Clagwell was Oliver Douglas tractor on Green Acres!
your tape mesher went throw the case and in to the tall grass if you dint find it ^^
How nice is it to own a powerful pc of equipment!!! Makes project so much nicer!
Should come in handy
Definitely looking forward to your next episode working for Mike clearing some ditches.
Should be a really enjoyable episode.
Coming soon!
Stay the course young man, you are going to win, and the triple Nickel is going to be the go to on the homestead. When you getter done you are going to know what you got for a machine. Thanks for the update sir.
You got that right!
Mike, you’ve done impressive job, from what you started with to what you have now,so you got few more hiccups to work thru, not too many people can say they have done what you accomplished and not doing this for a living.and not bad for a firefighter.great job as always, keep doing what your doing.👍👍👍😎😎😎👨🚒👨🚒👨🚒
She runs good, turns right on. You will get all the kinks worked out of it eventually and then have a great machine for your home.
Yup!
31:07 thats how I justify all by terrible purchases. "At lest it has like $12 of brass fittings" lol
🤣 it's the little wins that keep us moving forward
And another day closer to getting her done!!!!! 👍
💪
One day that machine will be like new😊👍
Hope so!
Looking good Capt. Love the Yankee ingenuity, keep the videos coming, the laughs smiles and OMGs keep us going.
💪
You’re getting there, Mike! I have no doubt!
💪
Good to see you back on the backhoe mate Andy from Australia
Thanks 👍
Great video Captain Kleeman
Thanks!
I like the backhoe stuff the best. also it’s amazing how well the rotary hammer works at loosening nuts
It really does a good job!
Brak-kleen works great for hornets with the benefits designed in. CRC makes one non flamable, my faverat also fire a fire extinguisher.
What do people have against wasp spray?
@@CaptainKleeman nothing aganst wasp spray just more positives for using the brake kleener. Wasp spray is great for wasps and handy to keep a can near the entrance door to your home. Nothing else (legal) will stop an intruder faster than wasp & hornet spray in the face!😁
The learning curve you are on with the backhoe is tremendous and fun into the bargain. Bye the time you have 'finished' the hoses they will all be new and rearranged to fit the purpose. HMM steering is a problem - oh well foot work is OK too.
I love your perseverance on this project, I think it going to be a great machine for your little farm. 👍🎅🏻
I think so too!
Cap'n, do you ever ask yourself what you might have done bad in your former life? Ooof!
Looks like a good machine.
Getting there!
Very good job Cap, man you have patience to work on the backhoe .
Like your work. A good power wash makes it a whole lot easier to find what and where it is leaking. Also much easier to fix.
Depends
I can see that you are going to have a lot of FUN with that backhoe!
Yup!
You are one talented young man! Love your videos.
I appreciate that!
She's really coming along nicely. You've done one heck of a job so far Captain. Especially changing the backhoe pattern. I like the sound of that 555 too.
Mike, great work on the old 555 so far. I've seen a few mechanics use the 1.5" hydraulic hose on a few machines by heating the hose end with hot water and using liquid soap to force it over the end far enough to clamp it. It can be a struggle though. I pray you and the family stay safe and healthy
I can't see that working, it may soften the rubber, but i can't imagine it softening the steel braid
Such a fun project, especially now that you're making some real progress on it.
Mike I noticed when you were tighten the by the handle of the ratchet there was a pulley with a lot of play in it
WD 40 makes a great wasp spray. Cheaper and better aiming with the straw than ordinary wasp spray.
I don't know where you're buying your wasp spray, but I think you're over charging you
Are the wasps paper wasps? If they are, my wife went to a local thrift store (Michael's) and bought fake wasp nests and hung them around the yard. The wasps seem to be territorial and usually stay away. However, back in 2010 the wife bought a bright yellow Chevy S10, she said it attached bees and stiff young men. She finally got tired of all the buzzing around so she sold the S10🤣😂🤣
🤣🤣🤣
"Through the process of wiggles!"
Sir.. Watching you from over seas gives me hope for the people over there. At least there are someone who can make it great again.... 😀 It fine...it works..! regards from Norway!
💪
Only bad part of YOUR vids is the end, anxiously awaiting Sunday. ThankYOU!!!
Appreciate the feedback!
Great job replacing the hydraulic hoses Captain Kleeman
💪
Hey pal my power steering on my 4610 ford acted the same way. I got a rebuild kit for the pump and it works great now. From what I seen on your video the power steering is the same as mine. Always love the videos
I'll check that out! Thanks man.
@Captain Kleeman anytime bud the rebuild kit wast super expensive either so that was great for me.
Great video well done on the hoses.
Thanks 👍
555 alive !!! 😃
Unlike the wasps, trying to muscle in 😮
Well, you did get some work done, great to see progress being made on the homestead 😁 nice to hear the clatter of the three cylinder diesel 😎
Can see you repeating this process a few times to get all the dodgy hoses to show themselves..... 😬
So close!
She sure starts nice!
Yeah she does!
Love Sysco. When I worked at Newburgh Locks, I used them often.
They are great to work with!
Ol beast is shaping up. Looking forward to seeing it sling dirt!
Me too!
As you replace the hoses cut the fitting off the hose at a point long enough that you can weld it up for future use as plugs / cap and it might get you out of a pinch some day. You had said something about the powersteering the other day and I had thought to say the pump was under your AC compresser, it has a filter inside the housing we used to change them out if the machine got to a 1000 hours before being trade out.
Super job with all you have done to the Ford 555. Sound great and hard work addition to your stable.
Thanks 👍
It is getting there. You will have a machine that will be of a lot of use around the old homestead. Not the best tool for any one thing but a good tool for everything.
💪
It looks like you are about to get it back in working order. It seems like the wasp really love the 555 to. Enjoy the videos, have a great weekend see you on Sunday.
Fingers crossed!
Good job Captain!
