Great vid ! People will always find a way to talk shit even if you clean it they would say you dont need to replace filter dont look like the truck goes out much haha
I have a new-to-me 2020 Ram 2500 with the 6.7 diesel and the dealer recommended replacing the Crank Case Filter. They wanted $555.03 for parts and labor. This can't be it, right? Is there another Crank Case Filter somewhere else? Maybe one that's really hard to get to with a filter made of silver or gold? hehe
This is the only filter. And you don't clean or replace any other EGR components regardless of how much the dealership will try to convince you otherwise. The EGR valve on 2019+ RAMs CANNOT be disassembled and cleaned, but the dealer will try and charge you $400-500 to "clean" it. The only negative I have after buying my 2022 RAM 2500 has been the dealership drastically overcharging for EVERY service. Even extremely simple ones. It's my first diesel after switching from Toyota and I'm not sure if Ford/GM are any better, but I doubt I'll buy another RAM.
Other question i go to the dealer and they want to charge 2100 dollars because they said it need EGR cleaning, do you think is necessary in my 2018 is ha e 67.000 miles
I got the perform service on my 2014 Ram 3500 a few days ago. I thought maybe it was the air filter, but it was changed less than 10,000 miles ago and haven't driven it in bad conditions. I bought 2 CCV filters off Amazon, they were cheap and when I got them, found out they weren't Cummins Fleetguard (found those later and were $75. Both of the ones I bought equalled to about $75). So I added 67,500 miles to the mileage I had when I did it so I would know when you change it next. So that mileage would be 295,955m. Am currently sitting at 234,400. It's not throwing a code (checked with my code reader), just the perform service message. Think it may be a bad filter?
I still think you're dad told you about the holes, because he figures you would order the wrong one. Just kidding Jesse. I can't believe how you didn't fly off in that mini Chopper to finish this show. Disappointed. 😂

@@AdventureEndeavor Yes the light recset did not work. It is the wrong way To Do it on a 2021 Ram 3500 diesel. The right way is to just go into the controls and just clear it out without pressing the brake or gas. That worked.

For our 2016 it's whatever I out in the video. It's been a while lol but I know it's worked twice for my truck
Good video ☝️💯..quick question is the exhaust system service required see dealer related to this filter? Just popped up on my dashboard.
I'm not sure I've never had a service exhaust system message.
my 2012 ram 6.7 cummings 65.700 miles service requires the cleaning of the EGR valve and cleaning of the EGR cooler and replacing the cc filter
Yup, that's what it calls for on the older trucks.
we put blanks in all our oilfield equipment with cummins engines. In ND they freeze up when it gets cold and the engines puke oil
Interesting
At 67,500 you need to do the entire EGT system not just the filter, plan on doing the EGR valve & EGR cooler.
We did exactly what the manual told us to do.
From 2013-18 the only maintenance at 67,500 is the crankcase filter. 2019+ is crankcase filter only, but at 75,000 miles.
👍 this.

@@AdventureEndeavor I haven't but will try removing the battery terminal one first. Which battery, drivers idea or passenger side?
Shouldn't matter. Did you reset the ccv light first? It's all done in the gauge cluster
