    Best CZcams video ever. So often, I yell, "GET TO THE POINT" and you got it right. Also, looks like the Grimslöv fronts, for which there are no cover panels in off white. So your choice was very useful.

    What size screws did you use? My cover panels didn't come with screws.

    • @FixitAll
      @FixitAll  Před 5 lety +1

      I am not looking on the size screws.
      You should check thiknes of the panel and cabinet side.
      Decorative panel + cabinet side = ?
      And minus 1/8" from both thiknes.
      So, if the decorative panel 5/8" + 3/4" cabinet side = 1-3/8"
      1-3/8" - 1/8" = 1-1/4" screws.

    Hi again! You added gorilla glue at 0:40. Is this necessary? Doesn't this make it a mess if you were to change panels in the future (big if, I know!). But still, is it necessary? Thank you.

    • @FixitAll
      @FixitAll  Před 2 lety

      Hi. Glue here not required in case you're planning to replace the panel. It will stay on 4 screws just fine.

    Why did you "bridge" out the back for the panel? Was it to use the finished side (factory width) of the side panel? So you wouldn't trim the width of the side panel?? Nice job!

    This is wonderfully helpful. I am in the process of building a very similar Ikea island counter. I am a little lost though with one bit. I have the same setup of drawers, however the top drawer face is about 1/2" too high to fit under the counter top. The lower and middle drawer are at their lowest possible configurations. If there is nothing else I can do with the drawers I suppose I will have mount 1x3s on the underside of the counter top to give me the extra bit of clearance I need.
    Confusde and frustrated.
    Edit. at 1:08 you're drawer face bottoms appear to be flushed to the under side of the bottom panel? Mine align to the top side of the bottom panel. This would be just enough of a height error to throw the rest off. But then the next drawer up aligns perfectly to the bottom drawer, the top drawer is short on clearance to the counter top. 😵

    • @FixitAll
      @FixitAll  Před 5 lety +1

      Yes the bottom drawer face flash to bottom under cabinet. This is a factory preset, you can't change it because it sit on a side sliders.

    • @iainmorrison7027
      @iainmorrison7027 Před 5 lety +1

      Adam I think you may have put the screws in the wrong holes when you attached the bottom fittings which connect the drawer fronts to the drawers. Top and bottom drawers require different fitting points and the drawer fronts will be off vertically if you screw through the wrong holes.
