    I think the biggest thing to remember is that ur lungs are air bags, take a deep breath and you will float, relax your body and keep your hips ups

    Floating is more important than swimming. Even the best swimmers will eventually get tired and drown but if you know how to float you can survive.

      Do it!
      I was unable to swim 4 years ago; joined an adult swim class, and it was the best thing ever.
      I'm now a competent swimmer, and find swimming such a relaxing activity.
      I'd been putting it off for years.
      Just do it!

      Me trying to learn the frog method swim and I move backwards 😓 My trainer says I do everything right but still I can’t move forwards

    • @michaelkirshner3099
      @michaelkirshner3099 Před rokem +6

      @@NaanuYaaru when you squeeze your legs together for the frog kick, it pushes you forward. The rest of the frog kick motion actually does pull you back a little bit. To make it work, you'll need to stay completely still in a streamlined position after squeezing your legs together for a couple of seconds. You want to spend as much of the momentum as you can from that forward push.
      Also, make sure your feet are pointed right. While squeezing your legs together and while gliding, your feet should be extended. During the rest of the motion, the feet should be flexed.
      If you're really doing everything right and still not moving, it's usually because your body is too tense. You've gotta be relaxed and loose, and trust that the water is gonna keep you afloat. To help relax while learning something similar to frog swimming, I'd recommend what I call "starfish swimming" ... Not sure if theres a better name for it hahah. Basically, try floating on your back and doing snow angels. Never lift your arms out of the water for this, and be sure you're doing a two-second glide after each push forward. Once you get comfortable with this, you can also do it on your front.
      Hope this helps!
