I'm 27 and can't swim, but I'm so self conscious about learning at this age. Plus I'm not confident in my body 😭 This is making me want to go learn though!
Do it! I was unable to swim 4 years ago; joined an adult swim class, and it was the best thing ever. I'm now a competent swimmer, and find swimming such a relaxing activity. I'd been putting it off for years. Just do it!
I could teach you for free. I live in Washington state. I’m working on getting my girlfriend and her daughter to take swimming lessons because she can’t swim and lives in Brasil. It’s important and I can’t believe she can’t swim and lives next to the Atlantic Ocean.
@@NaanuYaaru when you squeeze your legs together for the frog kick, it pushes you forward. The rest of the frog kick motion actually does pull you back a little bit. To make it work, you'll need to stay completely still in a streamlined position after squeezing your legs together for a couple of seconds. You want to spend as much of the momentum as you can from that forward push. Also, make sure your feet are pointed right. While squeezing your legs together and while gliding, your feet should be extended. During the rest of the motion, the feet should be flexed. If you're really doing everything right and still not moving, it's usually because your body is too tense. You've gotta be relaxed and loose, and trust that the water is gonna keep you afloat. To help relax while learning something similar to frog swimming, I'd recommend what I call "starfish swimming" ... Not sure if theres a better name for it hahah. Basically, try floating on your back and doing snow angels. Never lift your arms out of the water for this, and be sure you're doing a two-second glide after each push forward. Once you get comfortable with this, you can also do it on your front. Hope this helps!
My brother taught me when i was 6! (Im a fast learner) Basically, Lay down and put your belly up, Paddle arms to kinda like move around,Launch out with your legs
@@rainbowplayz1549 you’re welcome! No way, however, you’ll learn over the coming years how to see someone else’s accomplishments and acknowledge them, maybe even uplift them before stating what you may be more knowledgeable about. That comes with time though, don’t be in a rush to get there.
I’m one them people I’ll go down the slide and get in the water but I’m so paranoid I’ll feel myself going down so I’ll stay close to the edge just in case but I can’t swim for nothing
Join an adult swim class, as they are trained and qualified to teach others; watch CZcams videos on breathing techniques prior to starting (not essential, but it will give you a head start). You CAN learn and pick up the techniques.
Look at your moms head and hands. Then look at your head and where you’re trying to keep it. You should be able to tell the difference. I train instructors how to teach, by the way. I just taught you for free.😂😂😂🤷🏿🤷🏿
I think the biggest thing to remember is that ur lungs are air bags, take a deep breath and you will float, relax your body and keep your hips ups
Yessss
Lmaoo the comment below is taking me out😂😂 “and I’m nine!”

I’m in class now!! At 45! Lol
How's it going
My lesson starts 7/10 & I'm super excited! 😊
Floating is more important than swimming. Even the best swimmers will eventually get tired and drown but if you know how to float you can survive.
I’m so proud of you for doing that! You give me so much inspiration! I will I will be at my local YMCA 🏊🏽♀️🤿
Thank youuu

You should do private lessons for adults! My mom learned to swim in college so it’s never to late❤

omg you so pretty gurl!!
Can you share how you were able to care for your natural hair during your swim lessons. And what swim camp did you use?
I'm a professional swim teacher and I love teaching adults! If you have any questions about how to get started, ask away :)
How do you encourage an adult with water fear/trauma. I want to overcome my fear but my anxiety and my desire are arch nemesis 😂
Me trying to learn the frog method swim and I move backwards 😓 My trainer says I do everything right but still I can’t move forwards
