Gaziev getting a main event fight on only his 2nd UFC appearance shows you how bad the heavyweight devision is right now.
People actually picking Gaziev was even more comical
I think it had a lot to with him being 35 and having a decent amount of experience and most of his wins are first round finishes. Even at heavyweight most don't go past 35-38 so they were probably seeing if they could get a star out of a heavyweight Dagestani lol
@@thenedsmmachannel8970 ya he pulled a spivac vs gane pretty much and just left his face out there to get punched over and over and over 😂😂
"shows you how much the ufc priorities fight nights" There, fixed for you.
More like. It shows you how privileged these people with last names ending in V are. Abus got the same exactly situation. Second fight in the promotion and they get a main event. When they aren't even known. Crazy
I am from France, Cedric Doumbé is as big of a star as Conor is in Ireland. Doumbé has sold out a 16 000 arena in 10 minutes for that Baki fight. He is a mega star, a true entertainer.
Only because of his big mouth, he's only ranked 25th in his weight class in France, and fighting in some shitty romanian plumber fight league
He's that famous over there? When he came out with the mattress and had the whole arena chanting with him, I've never seen anything like that.
@@TheWeasleMMA hey weasle, who do you think are the top 5 best strikers in mma?
Its weird considering hes not really french. I guess over here in Ireland we dont have that kind of sympathy for foreigners
@@seams4186 sympathy? What sympathy are the French showing by supporting a guys who's been living in France since he was 9? And take a look at his record and fights, he doesn't need sympathy from ANYONE
Gaziev makes Chris Barnett look like a Calvin Klein super model.
Didn't that jewish company put some pregnant "man" as their model recently ?
Barnett is a cutie regardless, don't do him dirty like that

Next title shots should be as follows
Jon Jones vs.Proper 12 Conor Mcgregor 265lbs
Pereira🗿 vs.Lambo🛥️Conor Mcgregor 205lbs
Dricus vs. Titanium leg Conor Mcgregor 185lbs
Leon Vs. Bald Conor 170lbs
Islam vs. Karate stance Conor 155lbs
Ilia Topuria vs. Slickback Conor 145lbs
Sean O’Malley vs. Ponytail Conor 135lbs
Pantoja Vs. Before silk blankets Conor 125lbs
Ok
clown. go away
im dead 💀
Makes perfect sense to me 😂😂
That's Dana's whiteboard
I was calling Topuria to be champ for a while now. He’s just so damn well rounded and a crazy mix of being able to fight smart but also like an absolute violent maniac.
Wowwwwww
To me it was obvious since he fought Damon Jackson that he would be champ. It helps that I speak spanish and watch a bunch of spanish MMA channels that were already aware of Ilia
Ortega vs Topuria is suicide. His style allows to many punchos.
the pay issue for lower level fighters has a simple solution - go back to the days where fighters can have their own sponsors on the shorts and fight banner. sure UFC would take a small hit to their main sponsors pay. but this would allow up and comers and lesser skilled fighters to make a decent living for putting their body on the line. fighters back then could make 30k to 100k just from sponsors alone, even if they werent top of the division.
Great weekend of fights comin.
First time getting a question on a podcast. Heart definitely jumped when I heard my name pop up! Awesome work as always, Weasle!
Your heart jumped up but my penis jumped up
“..heart jumped..”? You might actually be homoseksually inclined. Which is very normal. (These days)
What an amazing accomplishment
Mousasi is top five all time for me… he would have smoked bisping and probably defended against rockhold, romero, Whitaker, Costa and he’s a nightmare match up for Izzy bc of his fight IQ and wrestling. Interestingly enough right before he left for Bellator, there’s an interview with Gegard asking to describe 185 lbs divisions top 10 using one word or phrase and unironically when asked about Bisping, he said “easiest fight at 185”, rockhold “tough fight”, Jakare “friend” and I don’t remember every single fighter in top 10 but at the time Whitaker was coming off Derek Brunson win and was ranked around 5-7, Mousasi described him as “second easiest fight at middleweight”, if you can believe that and this was right before Whittaker became a champ and had those two wars with Romero…
Doumbe is huge in france. Baki is pretty big as well, he's been catching peoples attention for the last year and is emerging as one france's top prospects.
Thats why I think it's kind of unfortunate that PFL is matching them up so early in their respective MMA careers, will be watching the fight nevertheless 👊
Love your content
Cheers from France
I agree 100%
A lot of divisions feel stuck right now. 125 for women’s hasn’t had an announcement, for 125 men’s Pantoja already son’d both Brandons and figgy moved up so there’s no clear contender. 135-145 women’s is basically dead. 145 men’s will be in limbo, 155 (depending on how the Gaethje/Max fight plays out) could get stuck. 170 we have to get through the boredom of Belal vs Leon before it gets going again. 185 is up in the air. And for heavyweight it will move basically whenever Jon Jones is ready. There’s a lot lacking right now but it’s also an opportunity for any fighters who don’t speak up to shoot their shots. UFC gotta get going and book a lot of meaningful fight nights and title eliminators.
I love this podcast, best hour of every week
Thank you brother
Sopaj's good man. Only 23 years old, fought on short notice, and was at a big size disadvantage. He was winning comfortably until he gassed and made a mistake. Hope that KO doesn't hurt his career too much because he showed promise.
Sopaj is ass
Perfect timing my man
24:56 "Baki" Baysangur Chamsoudinov is a big time french prospect from Chechnya even before his Doumbe fight he was a big name in France compared to American prospects in the USA.
He is young but fights like a vet very patient, good striking with judo trips
giving some insight on the rugby thing, people can get knocked out cold and only have to sit out 11 days and they’re good to play again, it’s not till the 3rd ko in a short time frame where the player usually makes the decision to take time off
if you want some examples look up Kayln Ponga
Luke Keary (almost medically retired to head knocks)
Boyd Cordner (medically retired due to head knocks )
TheWeasle thank u for giving Merab his deserving shine 🙏
How do you always know when I’m craving a Weasle video?! Weasle the oracle frfr ❤
How Gaziev felt during the fight before it was stopped is how we feel about the Apex. Hopeless it won’t ever end😂
Mohammed mokaev also showed dms and voice dms from like Feb 3rd with his doctor that he had staph in three different places. I know one was his elbow, I think one was his leg, not sure where the other was but if that's true and he was on antibiotics for the last part of his camp, we all know what that can do fight night. I do believe it had alot to do with his lackluster performance, but I guess we'll find out sooner or later.
I don’t think he’s lying about it and that would definitely make him compromised To a certain extent to not be a full 100%
@@camron8839he showed pictures of vomit in the morning of the fight.
he made sure he had his excuses ready 😂
@@evenosinger1224 does it hurt you he's still able to win a fight in that state whilst u can't do nothing but warm seats?

Let's go Diamond!!
Yo I look forward to this podcast every week but I think you really gotta figure out the title. Is it called The MMA Meeting, The Let’s Talk: podcast, or The Weasel podcast. Saying the “mma meeting let’s talk weasel podcast” sounds kinda clunky
Good stuff Weasel
10:22 Ariel Helwani? Wtf 😂😂
Lol
i was looking for a comment on this
You said that Umar was 30-27? It was much more dominant scores than that. I believe it was 30-25, 30-26, 30-26 The knockdown was kind of a flash glance didn't really have a lot of power behind it and then he dominated the rest of the round pretty heavily so they all gave him the round and 4 10-8 after that
I know kickboxing isn't really your thing on this channel but there is also the Glory heavyweight grand prix this weekend which you should check out
The scorecards for Umar’s fight were 30-26, 30-26, and 30-25
Man let these fighters get those endorsements back. They’d probably actually fight more to have there advertisers seen.
Great episode 💯
pressure makes diamonds and DP is going to shock a lot of people this weekend man. BSD is a killer but Dustin is too slick and huge step up. His socials make him seem motivated as hell
Dp likes to eat his own poo
😂😂
Found the BSD fan
I remember wrestlers like Mark Coleman in pride would get to north south and go to town with the knees. I think knees on the ground are just as effective for wrestlers
Yeah Kevin Randleman used them too. The game will change completely if grounded knees are allowed.
Love the podcast
Im from belgium but i speak french and follow a lot of french speaking MMA channels, it seems like doumbe vs baki is a bigger event than any of the previous UFC Paris. There is more traction arround that fight. PFL is doing some good work in France. Love the content weasle the podcasts are my favorite ❤
I think stylistically, sean looks like he beats whittaker but whittaker is very good against anybody who doesnt have a size and power advantage. I think the body kick and hook combos and open for whittaker. People saying the blitz is gonna get countered by the jab, but seans not a counter striker and doesnt rlly counter with his jab. Seans high guards nice for single shots but if this fights 5 rounds and whittakers landing more combos without a ko threat from sean, i think he makes it look easier than ppl are making it out to be.
big ups big L
48:30 Incorrect fusion dance 😂
Thanks
BIG L??? BIG PUN?? Didn’t know you were chill like that weasel
1:00:00 what you were saying about Periera made me think.. what if he had a manager “Paul heyman” type guy who talked for him while he stood there stone faced with the belt. I think that would be so cold 🤣🔥
The weasle is a master debater
Weasel where is the link to your history channel/videos? I can’t find them anywhere.
It's in the description 👍
Vinnie Paz is my favorite rapper as well
Aldo is objectively The 145 goat, I know volk has put on great and exciting performances and has gained a lot of popularity but Jesus.
5 vs 9 defences, Aldo was champion longer. To hell, even TKZ who volk 4th round TKOd, Aldo did the same thing in 2013😂
Aldo whooped the cream of the crop of FW in WEC and UFC. People forget that flying kneed cub Swanson in 8 seconds
Aldo was king of the division before it was fully formed. He was graced by being a bit ahead of his time, not by being the best of all time. He had the correct skills to beat his contemporaries, but should by no means be compared to the current day elites of the division.
@@haerverki agree yet he was undefeated for 10 years bro. But Max beat Aldo twice so in my eyes he isn't the greatest of all time
@@squadabingo9113 so when Topuria sleeps volk again, volk can’t be the greatest either based on your logic
@@thenedsmmachannel8970aldo fought nobodys
Wild opening sentence 😂
Yeah what the fk was that? Who cares? 😂
It's not just about AJ taking Francis more seriously. AJ is an actual big puncher, unlike Tyson Fury.
hey weasle i got a question do u think prime conner would beat current justin
I got a notification for 299 breakdown and predictions but you deleted it?
My boy listening to Vinnie Paz! Respect
Weasel can hit those notes! Ohhh baby ohhhhh
I think Moreno is fine. He just looked like he had a bad game plan, a bad day in the office so to speak.
He didn’t look slow, or chinny, he’s not showing up out of shape, or getting physically dominated. I gotta wait and see his next fight. Volk on the other hand I fear is washed. His chin might just be gone after taking so much damage back to back.
TheWeasle make a video of granite chins tier list in the UFC.
You could also argue that Adesanya deserves the rematch. He was the most active champ and gave an undeserving Strickland the title shot to save the Sydney card. That type of attitude has to count for something. Also IZZY vs DDP is an easier fight to market and is the fight that should have happened all along!
I was hoping you would do a reaction video to the moreno vs royval fight
I cover it in this podcast
Lol that what happens when you comment before watching the video 😅
@@TheWeasleMMAcasual take on Brandon moreno. Calling him washed is crazy
@@chrisreyes8803it’s not. moreno looked awful. only throwing overhands the entire fight
@@SantanaMiller I blame Brandon R. Getting better and also I blame the change of coaches on Brandon moreno. You don’t jump to conclusions and call an elite fighter like Brandon moreno he’s “washed “
I agree 100% with the Moreno Analysis he looked so different 😢. Also dont you think Turcios has a chance to beat Rosas Jr?
Cejudo cut his own self off at the knees with that early retirement. What a freaking shame.
Hey weasel love the videos, who do you think would win a 145 Topouria vs Yan?
Caught that Ariel joke😉👏🏼
Wtf is going on with Stricklands nipple in that Whittaker breakdown 😂
The Tuporia glaze is insaaaaane lmao
Cool that even Michael Johnsons mom watches the Weasel
Hearing you listen to Vinnie Paz made my day
Cowboy Cerrone is going to testify for the UFC in the court case coming up alongside other fighters like Micheal bing and CHAEL. Cowboys Cerrone talking about fighter pay is just a big ass hypocrisy he is literally part of the lawsuit but he’s in a testify for the UFC which is so weird.
Not weird at all. He was treated well by the company and he will stand up for them.
How is that weird!? They made him a celebrity and thus a multi millionaire. What he did with his platform is something more fighters should follow (and can easily exceed).
@@thenedsmmachannel8970He was bought by the company. He was part of early efforts to unionize alongside Couture.
You didn't mention that Aldo was massive at bantamweight. That helped against Merab, and that fight was at high elevation.
To have a good vision of how big Cédric Doumbé is in France.
Let's say that he is as big as Benoit Saint-Denis who's a french ranked fight in the UFC in the most hyped division. Cedric Doumbé is that popular without being in the UFC. That says a lot about how appreciated and popular he is in France.
What was that "I like debates" non sequitur?
Nice
Sandhagen vs Chito fight still has the most ridiculous scorecard ever
Gegard would have schooled bisping badly
Jonathon martinez is coming for that bantamweight belt
💯💯💯
And Paddle isn't young as he acts - he is taking his time moving up the ranks
Thats why they need a union. Like every single other major american sport has.
No reason fighters make less of a % of profits than baseball and basketball players cmon
Unions are generally a pretty good, necessary thing.
Do you think that the altitude may have affected Moreno's performance?
My guy from the comment was glazing Michael Johnson all over lol
Ranked fighters really could get a little more money. Being ranked in UFC should be more prestigious than it is.
There is a guy from Kazakhstan named Asu Almabayev. He might create some problems for Pantoja.
Mate, Doumbe is hudge in France. People that never were not interested about MMA are talking about this fight. It is same week as BSD/Poirier but Doumbe/Baki get lot more coverage from french media, even specialise media from youtube. My opinion is it is great for the sport but the coverage and the bullshit o meter went to a point of anoyance. Doumbe is trashtalking in more respective way than Conor he is more on the mockery side.He Is very good on selling the fight.
TRT Vitor is the scariest fighter I have ever seen in my life, but Yoel's wrestling would have been the difference. It would have looked similar to the Tito Ortiz fight with Vitor, only Vitor taking way more damage. I absolutely see Yoel getting rocked or dropped, but he gets Vitor down, controls him up until the damage is too much. TKO on the ground.
Ortega has been around so long, I was shocked that he downloaded a 3.0 version for himself.
Brandon Royval vs. Steve Erceg is the fight I want to see
🇫🇷🇫🇷🇫🇷Cédric Doumbé is fucking huge in France, believe it 😂😂 "Sympa La Force😵💫"
Gegard Mousasi ✌ He's such a cool dude to hang out with too.
Gegard vs Romero would've been nasty
“I like hitting people not hitting notes” -Middle School Weasle
In case you didn't know Tony vs MJ 2 was scheduled to happen on the same card as Conor vs RDA but MJ pulled out
You forgot to mention how Eddie Alvarez vs MJ would had played out in your opinion. Personally I think MJ's hand speed would had cause problems for Eddie's turtle style of guard amd throwing punches
tickling did save my life tho as a last ditch effort in a guillotine. And i mean my actual life not in competition 😂
Michael Johnson’s biggest fan was featured in the video 😭
Almakhan won the first because heavy blows beat cumulative damage in the criteria
Henry Cejudo is American. He won a gold medal for America and Mexicans are in their feelings? Lmao I’m American (born and live in USA) followed by Indonesian, Armenian, Dutch, SE Asian. Even when my family and I visit those countries we are AMERICAN. That’s the only thing I agreed with Cejudo
I used to listen to “underground” rap, but the artists you listed aren’t quite underground. Im thinking Eyedea, Aesop Rock, Sage Francis, Mac Lethal, Immortal Technique, MF Doom
Yeah I also used to like Immortal Technique and RA the Rugged Man. Vinnie Paz was GOATed though.
Pack Pistol Pazzy! Weasle knows his shit goddamn 😂
make a video about 301...nothing other than the champion are the top 9 in all divisions (main card PPV) !!!
ill never speak about prelims 😅
I believe GSP took the nickname “Rush” because of the popular rock band that originates from there.
Flyweight is by far the best womens division. Valentina Shevchenko, Alexa Grasso, Manon Fiorot, Erin Blanchfield, Jessica Andrade, Taila Santos (should've never been released), Rose Namajunas, Maycee Barber, Miranda Maverick, Ariane Lipski, and more. It's stacked with contenders.
Micheal Johnson is the exactly the level of fighter that conor would dispatch inside 2 in spectacular fashion. This is coming from someone who hates conor
In his prime, MJ would've been one of the most dangerous match ups for Conor. Everything from his stance all the way to his hand speed makes the fight tricky, granted it's not unwinnable for Conor (especially if he gets inside of MJ's head), but they both could easily hurt and finish the other
wouldn’t even say strickland is necessarily the most improved, outside of checking kicks, his game hasn’t evolved that much , it’s just no one thought he was championship caliber
Legalizing grounded knees will indeed help both strikers and wrestlers. The best part is it helps strikers agaisnt shitty wrestlers who attempt sloppy takedowns, and helps actual good wrestlers have a more damgerous ground game
GSP was "rush" because he used a karate style to dart in and out. He did this even in his "boring" phase.
Moreno looked like sea level cain no way a moreno from last pantoja fight looses to royval or maybe royval is the reason mma math doesn't work
umar's perfomance was not as bad as people say. people will hate just cuw he's a dagestani. mokaev's perfomance was stinky tho
Umar can be exciting...I am tired of Dagestani favor...Muslims ruining the sport
Hey Weasle! You should do a video about the most common “low IQ” things fighters do commonly. Including but not limited to, jumping guillotine, shooting takedowns on rocked opponents, pulling away from leg kicks instead of checking. I feel like every card has at least one fight where somebody is doing these types of things.
