Another feature not mentioned is that if you're lucky enough to have one of the few FJs with a manual transmission, then you also have a torsen center differential, and you're always in 4WD, like an Audi. This makes a huge difference during sudden changes in traction, because the front/rear torque split is both fully mechanical, and fully automatic, always adjusting for ideal traction. Bottom line: the only thing better in the snow than an FJ with a manual is a full-on snowmobile.

One of the best vehicles I ever owned. It had blind spots but you get used to it. Tons of head room. The 4.0L was a Way better engine than the newer Toyota 3.5L that came in the Tacoma I had after the FJ. The rear locker and atrac front was very capable off road. It was unique you didn't see them on every street corner like I did when I had Tacoma. Rolling in a new Jeep Gladiator Rubicon which it is very cool and feels unique like the FJ was. Hold on to that FJ you will miss it if you sell it. :(

I've wanted an fj for years. Tried to buy one new in 2014 but couldn't afford it at the time. Wound up with a 2 year old Tacoma that I put a ton of upgrades/money into over time. I had the opportunity last month to finally buy an fj. It's a 2008 with 126,000 miles. Already made a few upgrades. All I've been doing is obsessing over what I am going to do to it next. My wife thinks I'm nuts..... I am.

There is also the rear door pop up window which there is no button in the front , so you have to get out of the car to open with the key in order to give you more exersice [Toyota are very health conscious ] it comes in handy for shooting at police after you have robbed a bank. And there is the screw in radio antenna .This is a cost saving devise if you bend the antenna or it is stolen you can fit a metal coat hanger into slot thus saving you the cost of a new antenna [just like the old days].225.00 ks - 140.000 of that on LPG and only break down was front Parker bulb replacement.Paul oz.
