    I’m glad this knowledge is getting put out there! I had to replace my cartridge for the first time after years of having my Victoria 6-in-1, and I was almost certain I would damage it beyond repair. Thankfully, I was able to get it done, but I’m sure this video will be a lifesaver for others like me!

    I bought a Crosley case player from someone on Marketplace for $25, and was told it didn’t have a power cord. Bought one on Amazon and it arrived today, only to see the needle gliding. Could not figure out for the life of me how to get it or the cartridge off until your video. I don’t know what happened to this poor thing, but the cartridge itself is all mangled and there’s a grey piece jutting out and sticking down at a weird angle. The needle itself was missing off the red plastic cantilever, and what you said about the metal cantilever suddenly made a lot of sense. I got a new cartridge and replacement needles on Amazon, to come in two days. Stoked to use this thing soon. Thanks for making this video, you really saved my bacon!

I was pulling my hair out trying to figure out why everything but the turntable on my victrola 5 in 1, was playing through the speakers. After some research I found out it was probably the cartridge. Now I can change it no problem! Thanks again!

    I tried following this tutorial to replace the cartridge on my Numark PT-01; the cartridge did not want to come off as easily as shown in the video, and the red cable on the tonearm eventually split apart. I saw someone else on a different website say that the cables should be removed with needle-nose pliers; I wish I had followed their advice instead.

    I bought an open box ion premiere and when I tried to play there was no audio coming through and when I looked at the so-called new stylus I couldn't see any needle at all, so I tried to replace the existing needle kit with one I had just bought and somehow ended up with pieces of the cartridge falling out, even though I have replaced stylus packages before. So I'm going to watch a video three times and proceed with extreme caution. I really love the word easy being constantly repeated in this video. Thank you so much for your help.

    Hello I'm from the Philippines and I bought a victrola 1950s retro all in 1 turn table from Amazon in the US.. It came yesterday but I forgot the IS is 110v and we're 220v and plugged it into our 220v socket. Anyway. We checked and everything else works (bt, cd, radio) except for the turn table. It will not move at all. My brother opened it up and there is nothing burned that we can see or smell. My uncle thinks it actually arrives defective and plugging it into the wrong outlet dis not damage it. Problem is we don't have any shops that can fix turntables, no one knows how to use them. My uncle bought the motor for the turntable, based off the model no and your previous video on opening victrola turntables. He thinks it may be a motor. Can you do a video on the victrola 50s turntable opening and how to change the motor? Do you have any idea if the motor is indeed the problem?

    Rubies are red and sapphires are blue, at least 85% of the time. Though both stones come in other colors on rare occasions, I would think the stylus manufacturers are going to use the most common, and therefore cheaper, stones they can find. Just fyi.

    • @Recordology
      @Recordology  Před 2 lety +3

      The trick with ceramic cartridges is finding a turntable to connected to that is wired for proper impedance… Not really something you can fix on any given unit rather you have to find one that is designed that way. When properly impedance matched a ceramic cartridge can sound good. However I would recommend looking into magnetic cartridges and associated turn tables that support them.
