Aero isn't the reason Cleetus hasn't been faster. If the car still had a factory body like Ruby it wouldn't be any quicker ET wise. Which is what wins races in drag racing. Most people think the reason his car hasn't been 7.40s or better like a few others is because of the body and that's absolutely not the reason. The most aerodynamic body in the world wouldn't help the car where it needs it the most to get the ET quicker.
Honestly mounting the turbo like that looks like shit on this car. That turbo is to big to mount off the flange up in the air like that. It should be supported by more than just the flange and intake pipe. Maybe it will be when all said and done. If not it's going to be a problem though. It's a really nice looking car and this turbo placement just destroys that.

C8 is going to pull 3 car lengths easy. The 69 just feels faster than it is because it’s old and rattly, smells like fuel and makes good noises. I think Andrews right, the dyno will destroy its hopes and dreams.

You need to make a twin turbo two big turbos on the Camaro
You can use the trc racing app you can set it up for any speed 0-60 or 40-100 it will also show you your 1/4 mile time too

I would lower the turbo and try to mount it under the hood. Get a nice cowl hood to go over the intake.

Honestly... will one side of the motor be enough to spool it up? Gargantuan! Left lane: Going to have to stage a little further to the left so as to not draw the staging lights into it. Right lane: spectator warning... loose articles of clothing or hats may be sucked up! Local weather forecast could be affected - low pressure zone develops inside the dyno bay. OK, enough already :)

Better go ahead and get a fogger kit for the 69 also, going to need it against that c8.
You need to look into a Tial exshust housing. Smaller housing to spool up faster. An your going to have to put a small shot on it to get it to spool on the line. That's a lot of turbo for a 427. Have a friend with a 441 dart with a 102 an it's really hard to get it to spool in time sometimes. Depends on weather, elevation, an of course parts. Look into them you will like them.
What kind of Headers did you use American racing headers they are a great header made in Long Island

you do not need to brace that turbo with a sch40 log built by joey, i have a 72lb beach ball hanging on mine

Have the compressor housing hydro dipped with American flag and bald eagle with its mouth open toward the v band flange like its sucking all the air into the turbo.
Or painted I guess, probably going to be hard to line the hydro dip film up just right.

Ruby would smoke that boat Ruby is running low 8s and the Freedom Rocket was doing nothing but spinning the last few times out and as soon as that big ole turbo comes on line he's going to spin city again because he has IRS and I know Ruby does too but the Corvette chassis is designed alot better and not trying to push around 4000lbs and Nick is going to always have to run on low boost and never use the full potential of that turbo unless he 4links the rear with coilovers and mini tubs it with a 9in solid rear and if he put that car on a diet and then soon James and Cleetus are going in the 7s with Ruby
Does the 69 have a dual plane or single plane intake manifold on it? If it’s a dual, change it to a single when you change the headers and dyno it. Then run Andrew..
I feel like this turbo, trumps David Van Voris's, new big ass turbo? I could be wrong, but fawk, that's huge LOL
He has more turbo than his motor can handle. Unless he's building a better motor he picked the wrong turbo. A good 91mm will make 1900hp+. My 100mm from 15 years ago made what a 88mm does today lol. So back then we had to run big shit. Today you can make big power with a much smaller turbo. 102mm is in the 2300hp range which is well beyond what his motor will handle. Combination is what gets you down the track the quickest. Something he obviously hasn't learned yet when it comes to this car. Although I wish him luck and hope they got the converter right. Hopefully they don't waste a bunch of time on the dyno. This car needs to be tuned on the track. It's not the power you get to the wheels that matter. It's how much you can get to the ground and how quickly you can do it. Bring all that boost in after 500ft won't do much for the ET. I do hope he has much better luck with this setup though.

You can get a 180mph drone! 100mph is easy to get with a race drone. They video too
The engine dyno video you're talking about is nelson racing engines with a easily 2500 plus hp 632 I believe. They also created a temporary black hole due to how loud the turbos were, over 1100db

You got him with the Camaro, 454 with the headers he will not pull you three car lengths.
If its a 454 junkyard motor it should have lots of torque, but even a built motor big block 69 camaro is not going to be quick without lots of traction.
As long as it wasn't a 454 from a 90s truck 😂

At my age I am in the high risk category so haven’t got out much. My daughter sent us some assorted masks and gloves to use if we have to go out for some reason. I tried on the mask and gloves the other day but after I looked in the mirror I got this strong urge to rob a bank. Quickly removed the mask and glove and told my wife I thought it best if we stayed in and watched tv.😂😂🙂
Hey Nick I watch a video on Motor Trend engine Masters they Dyno tested different exhaust systems from single to duals and even different Mufflers as much as 25 horsepower different from one exhaust system to another great video to watch. I would love to come down and put a cheater Nitrous system on the Camaro overnight I see a shitstain on the C8 Corvette LOL
