In the Japanese version, Blastoise is know as the Shell Pokémon, so its just early installment weirdness that was never fixed. You actually can see Kakuna's arms in all of its other sprites, it's the part that kinda looks like a tie. Also a lot of Pokémon have their Japanese category swapped with a different Pokémon in the English version, like Corphish is the Rogue Pokémon and Crawdaunt is the Ruffian Pokémon in the Japanese version but it's swapped in the English version.
#1: could this possibly suggest that US/UM aren't the alternate universe games and in fact S/M are? 🤔🤔🤔
ok
Guess who's shiny is green though, that's right Oddish. Gramps knew what he was asking for.
Gengar: is Ken Sugimori’s favorite Pokémon to draw because it’s the easiest to draw.
Electrode, literally a sphere with eyes: I am literally a sphere with eyes.
Perfect circles are hard to free hand.
he is literally a sphere with eyes
Ditto
@@NukeCaulfield when did we say they have to be perfect
@@kab43 probably Sugimori
Interesting to think that if Koffing, Weezing, and Kabuto kept their beta names (Ny, La, and At) they would beat the record for shortest Pokemon names, given that Muk and Mew have three.
Also I love how no nonsense this video is. No rambling intro, no "let's get right into it! But first, this video is sponsored by...", and not even any outro. The second you say the last fact you're like "okay bye video over". It's kinda charming actually.
I half expected Flareons to be:
Hey guys, did you know that in terms of human companionship, Flareon is objectively the most huggable Pokemon? While their maximum temperature is likely too much for most, they are capable of controlling it, so they can set themselves to the perfect temperature for you. Along with that, they have a lot of fluff, making them undeniably incredibly soft to touch. But that's not all, they have a very respectable special defense stat of 110, which means that they are likely very calm and resistant to emotional damage. Because of this, if you have a bad day, you can vent to it while hugging it, and it won't mind. It can make itself even more endearing with moves like Charm and Baby Doll Eyes, ensuring that you never have a prolonged bout of depression ever again.
That was the most wholesome take on that stupid f'ing meme. I much prefer this copypasta to that one.
@@OtakuUnitedStudio idk what you're talking about man, this copypasta is pretty cool
Hey guys, did you know that in terms of summertime companions, vaporeon is excellent? Not only does it produce water for the hot days, but it can "melt" invisibly into existing bodies of water. You'd have the ideal partner for marko Polo. Unlike fish Pokemon, it can live an amphibious lifestyle, surviving easily on land so long as it has adequate access to water. Know what that means? You can take it for a walk, or even let it cuddle up to your leg while you sleep, just like a cat! How many times have you planned a nice day on the water only to have rain at the last minute? Not an issue anymore! Vaporeon can sense minute changes in the atmosphere's moisture and warn you of rain to come a few hours ahead of time when its fins vibrate. Who wouldn't want one of these cool Pokemon to join them for a little fun in the sun?
@@kab43 we need one of these for every Pokemon
I love RAPIDASH! It...very fast...warm and strong...beautiful!
Oh look at the time, you deserve a BIKE VOUCHER!
Kleavor, Scyther's OTHER Evolution also has a Base Stat total of 500. Making so if you want to, you can run a Bug Team with all 3.
Bro forgot what Scizor was called 😅
Bro doesn't know that kleavor is separate from scizor
Anas Bin Maalik He isn't talking about Kleavor _and_ Scyther's other evolution, he's saying that Kleavor _is_ Scyther's other evolution. Referring to the video already mentioning Scizor and going off of that.
This is why timestamping your comments is important.
Slap an Eviolite on the Scyther and you have some bulky bois
You could run a bug team with all three even if the evos got a stat boost, because they have different dex numbers.
"Psi" probably refers to psionic, kinda an umbrella term for the practical use of psychic power!
I was about to write this until I saw your comment lol, but yes you are correct
The reason why Blastoise is categorized as the Shellfish Pokemon was due to a translation error. TPC just never bothered to fix it!
6:00 and something i want to add, pippi is a word in herbrew, which translates in english to the word "piss/Pee" so clefairly can also being called piss
in german its called piepi aswell (you spell it like peepee)
You'd need access to cut to get Zapdos, since Misty's badge allows you to use it.
Can't believe that Kinglers fact was just that "yes, this pokemon that can gmax does indeed get a unique move"
I was expecting him to say for vaporeon “Did you know …”
If you look at super old unused sprites, you'll notice that Wartortle evolved into a turtle with even wilder ears and a tail. Blastoise was its own original, unrelated creation. I guess somewhere along the lines, they decided to just merge them. TBH, Blastoise had a way better design than the one they scrapped, so it's understandable.
Being tickled by an omanyte is the definition of blursed
doesn't EVERY Gmax Pokémon have their own unique move that only they can use?
Was going to say this.. no respect for kingler :(
@@ohghee : A recent point of note: Kingler is a highly valuable team member in Dynamax raids thanks to its ability to use Wide Guard against team-slaying Legendary Pokemon like Zygarde. :)
Dont take this video seriously...its pretty clear this youtuber just needed SOMETHING to post for his schedule lol....he literally talked about mr mime going from 3 fingers to 4 yet the sprites he showed go from 4 fingers to 5....majority of these "facts" are just him bringing pokedex entries XD
@@MadMod666 151 random facts is a lot of effort for "just needed something to post".
@@OtakuUnitedStudio most of these facts were already talked about on youtube and the others are just pokedex entries......soooooo yeah not much effort other than editing the video
Nidoking probably means to say he's a "man among men", or a "king of kings" and is just poorly translated
I'm pretty sure it was meant to have that effect, and it was also meant to be a pun based off of him evolving from Nidoran Male (since he's the last form he would be like the top of the 'Males'), but it just didn't really come across right
I was dreading 134.
I didn’t recognize the number at first, then realized it was in the right range.

I appreciate that Golbat is on the thumbnail. As a massive enjoyer of bats I really want Golbat to regain that creepy tongue, it adds so much!
Adds so much what? If it's personality, I agree.
@@JamestheGamingEngine Adds so much tongue.
@@TheTakato122....
You're sick. You know that?
@@JamestheGamingEngine It adds personality, tongue, extra weight, a bonus organ, and even a visual for the Ghost-type move: Lick!
To expand a little on Parasect a little bit, Paras and Parasect are based on cordyceps, a parasitic fungus that infects an insect and basically turns it into a zombie (cordyceps are also what The Last of Us uses for it's infected). Cordyceps are used as medicine in China, hence parasect's dex entry.
I've eaten thousands of cordyceps.
If I had to guess for the Nidoking thing it may have been a poke at or mistranslation of the phrase "man among men" essentially meaning Nidoking is a paragon for manliness. In other words, you may not like it but this (Nidoking) is what peak male performance looks like.
Adding to that, I think it also references his ability Rivalry, being better than other males
When Bill's grandpa was asking for an Oddish, I thought he was asking for a Skiploom. So I had to go and evolve my Hoppip, only to be told that that wasn't what he wanted.
This was a fun video concept! Hope you will do all regions!
Oooh, I would love a video like this for Johto! Corsola is my absolute favorite Pokemon and I'd love to know what fact you use for them!
I would also enjoy a Johto video for Shuckle (one of my favorites) lol. Have a good day and God bless! ✝️ :)
To get Zapdos, you'll need three badges: You need the Boulder Badge to progress past Pewter City and the Soul Badge to surf from Route 10 to the Power Plant. But to get there, you'll also need to use cut outside of battle, so you will need the Cascade Badge, too. Actually, the order of obtaining the badges is completely up to the player, as long as the Boulder Badge is first, the Cascade Badge is second, the Earth Badge is last and the Soul Badge is obtained before the Volcano Badge, so you can use surf to get to Cinnabar Island.
Using glitches, you don't even have to beat Brock first.
I am looking forward to the next 8 videos in this series! :)
If you're gonna make a note of a fact applying for multiple Pokémon, the false flag on Ivysaur also applies to Bulbasaur and Venusaur. The reason is apparently because an offensive German word, "sau" is included in their name. Apologies if that's a big "no-no" word. I'm just writing it for educational purposes.
What does "sau" means?
@@PaRaDoXH20It literally just means "female pig".
And I don't really get why some words are forbidden because they are swear words. By the same logic the word Hund (literally just "dog") should be forbidden as well because in German it can be used as a swear word. But it's not.
Get it, thanks for your explanation
@@Grey_Warden_Invasion bitch also just means dog
Cool facts!!! Could you do a video revolving around the Pokemon Stadium mini games?
I haven’t thought about it but I’m not sure if there’s enough for it to be it’s own video
@@PaPaSea Could be fun if you played the mini-games of both Stadiums with some of your fellow Poketubers like Flygon or someone!
These are fun! Great vid :)
17:41 hey guys did you know
would love to see this as a series!
Aoi (Japanese for blue) is also used for green sometimes so the Oddish line is probably a mistranslation
this video was really fun do you plan on doing the other generations?
A 152nd fact is that you should like and subscribe to PapaSea
16:07 had me rewind a couple of times. Guess you meant that Mr. Mime has 4 fingers until he got 5
Great video! Some feedback: when discussing Mr. Mime you seem to be using the term “fingers” to mean digits exclusive of a thumb. However, when talking about Electabuzz, you seem to use “fingers” to mean digits inclusive of thumbs. Just a minor inconsistency.
Also, blown away by Lickitung and Paperboy. Never knew that one.
That Kingler fact sucks. Every G-Max Pokémon has a signature G-Max move, yet the way the fact was phrased suggests otherwise.
yeah, I got confused and for some reason thought kingler was the only one with a signature g-max move
Very cool facts! I didn't know many.
7:33 I think you mean poison, not bug.
Love the video! 1) come on Voltorb has to be easier than Gengar to draw, for someone who can easily draw circles. 2) wait, you can get Zapdos with only Boulder and Soul badges? How do you get to Koga without the Cascade badge?
I ran out of fingers trying to count how many of these facts were about fingers
Great video
My guess about alakazam playing ghastlys cry could be because of the lack of "voices" on gameboys so when you're att low health and one voice is being used up for the beeping, you only have the voices for the "noise" instead if the higher pitch beeps as well as the lower noise which could be why it sounds like ghastly.
You listed Bug as one of Paras' x4 gen 1 weaknesses
yeah I meant to say poison but accidentally said bug
a lot of pokemon in Yellow had their catch rates changed so that when you trade them to GSC they would be holding a different item than if you traded them from Red and Blue. Dragonite having a catch rate of 9 meant that it would be holding an antidote, and Pikachu's was changed to 163 so that it would be holding a light ball
12:49 - In the Mother/Earthbound games, PSI is short for "Psionics" which is basically a psychic ability, and they also use PK, which is and acronym or short form of "Psychokinesis". I believe the prefix word they use for the power's name (PK Fire or PSI Fire for example) depends on where the language of the game and which manual you read, so Japanese is probably PK since that's what Ness says in Super Smash Bros., while English would PSI since that isn't used in Super Smash Bros., even in English, and a lot of characters keep their voices in multiple languages, like Captain Falcon of Marth and Roy in Melee, Brawl (just Marth for this one), and Super Smash Bros. 4.
Dunno if anyone mentioned it, but neither of your options for Hypno are completely accurate. PSI was a common enough shorthand generally for "psychic phenomena", or it referred to some "unknown variable" that makes psychic activity occur, and both stem from parapsychology, which Japanese media played with from time to time (but ended up preferring "ESP" instead)
doesn't PSI stand for psionic?
If I remember, psionic is a word that came from the root "psi", and then added an extra bit to be seen as more legitimate
I'm guessing PaPaSea hasn't played EarthBound
quagsire doesnt have a dex entry due to not being native to paldea in anyway, tauros has a dex entry since it is a form of paldean tauros who is native to paldea, and all forms of pokemon in the game show up in the pokedex with entries
omg the weedle fact has me in tears
awesome sauce
The arms on Kakuna are in every game
Just because they are not in use doesn't mean they are not there
They are it's poison barbs it uses for protection
Ok, the Alakazam fact is making me VERY curious on WHY it plays the Ghastly cry
Probably just a programming oversight tbh
Magmar got me laughing, it was so "basic" 😂
I love your videos
I'm pretty sure that a list about KANTO Pokémon facts shouldn't have the ALOLAN variants... It kinda defeats the purpose of the list in its entirety. Was an ok video overall. Nice work.
they’re the same dex number and are still Kanto Pokemon
@@PaPaSea I get that they are the same Dex entry number so shouldn't this be a fact list for the first 151 Pokémon rather than specifying Kanto in the title. The Alolan variants don't reside in Kanto so they don't really belong on the Kanto list.
Just my opinion but it doesn't matter overall. Still enjoyed the video and you still get a like.
You can get the Alola versions in the Let's Go games, which are set in Kanto. So, in a weirdly contrived way, they still count.
@@kpopgamingstudios I don't concede my point as these variants wouldn't count at all if the Pokémon weren't born on Alola... It was said that the variants exist simply because these Pokémon adapted to Alolan weather. If they then travelled to Kanto it still does not make them Kanto Pokémon. If they are now being born there then certain conditions have to be met (like trying to hatch a certain variant in a place that's not it's natural environment).
Clefairy is also called piepi in german it's prevo is pii and evolution is Pixi
About the Oddish fact, the old man could be wanting a shiny one. It does fit the exact description.
It's honestly just due to Japanese not having the same blue/green distinctions we do.
Hypno using PSI moves is probably a reference to Earthbound, which Creatures and GameFreak also made.
I've known the ekans thing since I had the original handbook as a kid. I have a copy now too.
Psi with hypno could be a earthbound reference
This is the most attention my favorite Pokemon will ever get, and I'll take it.
Which Pokémon would that be?
@@GuestDGaming Spearow
@@RealClassixX Love you for that
OH it was "Lantis" like "Mantis" but also Atlantis
#034 Nidokings voiceline is a reference to: "King among Kings". Prolly because NidoKing or smth.
Bolth of those mimes had the same amount of finger
12:50 Psi is short for Psionic, not Psychic. They are synonyms, though.
I miss arbok having special patterns in each game/region
Was that the best you could come up with for Kingler? All Gmax Pokemon have signature Gmax moves. Its Pokedex number in both the national dex and the Galar dex is 99. That's not groundbreaking exactly but it's on par with some of the other facts in this video and more interesting than "it's the only Pokemon that can learn its signature move".
1. Each G-Max move is exclusive to one specific gigantamax form. 2. Mr. Mime had 4 fingers on older sprites and 5 later on.
You know for a child's video game I am seeing a lot of ads for white claws
Raichu being able to kill an elephant sounds like a reference to Thomas Edison's killing of Topsy
kind of a flub with mr mime there you said he has 3 fingers showing that it has 4 finger sprint then said he has 4 fingers with a sprite having 5 fingers :P
Actually the pattern on Arbok's chest changes between regions
9:44 okay mr krabs
I like how we all thought the same for vaporeon.. lmao what’s that say about us 😂
While Magneton lack levitate, it can still learn Magnet Rise.
4:43 “Copperjaw”
To get the trade Electrode you need to trade a Raichu not a Pikachu
Mewtwo was the first pokemon shown in the english dub for the anime, in the japanese opening the first pokemon ever shown was Charizard
2:20 it can learn electroweb
@PaPaSea, did you know that in Red and Blue Charizard could not learn fly, however, it could in Yellow. Also that same Charizard from Yellow, could be transferred back into Red and Blue to give you a flying Charizard!?
IIRC Ditto could breed with another Ditto to make a Ditto Egg in Gen 2.
bruh golduck has to be one of the scariest pokemon could you imagine a 6 foot highly agile duck?
u see i'm subbed
Rattata was also the starter Pokemon in the unofficial fan game Rocket Edition, where you play through the game from the perspective of a Rocket Grunt!
Imagine if the Magnemite line got Levitate 😶
16:09....UHH HOLD ON....are we not including the thumbs when it comes to Mr.Mime?! cuz the first sprite clearly had 4 fingers then 5 fingers in the sprite after but you say it went from 3 fingers to 4 fingers?
you could temporary give Magneton Levitate with Magnet Rise.
Dark Golbat had the most broken Pokémon power in the TCG. You could defeat almost anyone without any energy cards in your deck.
I remember the first time I ever traded a pokemon in pokemon Blue. I traded my level 40 Raichu for the Electrode. I saw that it was level 40 as well so I thought if I trade a level 3 Raichu, I would still get a level 40 Electrode. Boy was I wrong.
Are you gonna do one of these for each generation?
Well Pidgeotto can't learn Peck because it uses Fierce Peck, which isn't a move yet, obviously.
Weepinbell is the only non-fully evolved Pokémon that cannot be recruited in the original Mystery Dungeon games, since it only appeared at Purity Forest.
I wonder if there's any list of Pokemon that cannot be traded over GTS in Gen 5 without nicknames like Ivysaur and Cofagrigus? Of course, if it were to say why, that would be nice, even if that would obviously get into saying offensive words, and the one in Cofagrigus' name being rather obvious. I didn't get Ivysaur's bit until I used Control+F to try to find any part of its name, though.
Ivysaur and it’s whole family have sau in its name, a German slur meaning sow or female cow
Mew was only added two weeks before release? But surely he existed from the start due to his pivotal role in the Mewtwo storyline? Am I misunderstanding something here?
You put an Ed Sheeran fact in the spot where Machamp was supposed to have one
10:14- weepinbell* ;)
Please do this for all regions.
11:03 You said every KANTO pokemon, not Galatrian variant (jk)
Seriously though, great video, I actually didn't know most of the facts
“Magmar was born inside of a volcano”
16:05 Mr. Mime had FOUR fingers and now has FIVE. (not 3)
